Big Lots

This store has been a regular stop for me and the ball-​and-​chain for years.
All kinds of great items have been found here, from the top of my head, they include a multi-​outlet device charger for the car, ice and snow brushes for the car, coolant, paper products, notebooks and pens, instant Indian meals, various types of gourmet tea, European fruit preserves, various glass bottles, containers and kitchen gadgets, and end tables.
People think Big Lots is a «dollar store». WRONG. Big lots is effectively a liquidation store, they buy products that the manufacturer doesn’t have orders for. They get everything for pennies on the dollar and sell it for half of regular price.
This particular store is in a shopping center that’s going downhill after the K-​Mart anchor has closed.

This is where products come to die. And if don’t really care about that, this is the place for you. They have (often) brand name products at amazingly cheap prices. Besides, shopping at Big Lots is always a learning experience. For instance, who knew that Celestial Seasonings made Black Cherry Pomegranate Tea? Or that The Silver Palate brand made amazingly tasty oatmeal. Not to mention the many international varieties of cookies and candy. Best of all, everything is cheap. Queen bed sets including comforter $ 25. The cheapest that Target has these for is $ 75 (to be fair, the ones at Target are probably of better quality.) Crockpots for $ 30. Sandwich bags, garbage bins, lawn care and even dried spices for around a dollar. I even saw a few pieces of Broyhill furniture on sale.
