Clarion Hotel

Do NOT use the airport parking service at clarion renton. Our flight landed over an hour ago and when we first called from baggage claim they told us it would be 45 minutes until someone could get here. It is now an hour and a half later and they still haven’t shown up. We have called 3 times.

The husband unit and I had to go to Seattle for a VA medical appointment. The VA booked us here for the night.
This is a great hotel for travelers and business people. The check in process was really easy. The gals at the front desk really knew their jobs.
The room was cosy, but super comfy! Plush bed with different pillow options. There was even a small fridge and microwave in our room.
The breakfast is what made this hotel stand out. It was a continental breakfast, but with TONS of options, both hot and cold. They had waffle makers, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, eggs, oatmeal, many cereals, and several other options.
They also offer cookies and coffee at all times.
Great place to rest our heads!

Keys did not work to any exterior doors, could not plug anything in the walls because the plugs were too loose, had to unplug the phone because the message light kept blinking… And the toilet had pee in it when we checked in! Ewwww!

We came to the Seattle area for a concert at CenturyLink Field and didn’t want to pay outrageous prices downtown for a hotel. We stayed her at the Clarion and for the price I was impressed.
The rooms were very clean.
Staff was very friendly upon check in
Breakfast was beyond just Danishes. Bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, fruit, yogurt, cereal, waffles, and Danishes.
Easy access to and from Seattle.
If will consider staying here again in the future.

Back at the Clarion. First floor room, near front desk. Nice room, AC works fine. But poor to very poor WiFi signal. Frustrating, since I specifically asked for a room with good WiFi coverage. It’s clear that that front desk staff have no idea which rooms have a decent WiFi signal. They have also significantly increased their room rates. So downgraded to 3 stars because you’re not getting what is being paid for.

Place is clean. Love their breakfast! Definitely gonna stay there again if I finds discount!

I feel I have to give it at least three stars because the general manager was helpful but there was several things that made the stay under three stars.
Let me start with the positive. When I booked the hotel I had the dates in the computer and I logged into my account and completed the booking. I was busy, saw the confirmation come through printed it and filed it with the associated trip it belonged to.
It wasn’t until about 8pm that I noticed on my google calendar a notification for the hotel stay had popped up. It made no sense and I started looking at it further.
It appears that when I signed into my account the days reset and I booked the night of the same day.
I wasn’t called as to why I hadn’t checked in. This frustrated me.
This would make me hate any hotel chain.
I called and I was told that I would need to call back to get this fixed and speak with the general manager. After a few calls she was able to book the night I had requested.
The other positive is that it was quiet on my floor but I hear it wasn’t for my mom and she actually had to call the front desk to complain at 10pm but no one picked up.
Another frustrating thing.
When I checked in and when I booked I was not told that half the hotel was actually under construction.
One end of the hotel was actually completely taped and covered in plastic and there was Sheetrock on the floors.
I would have liked to have been told when booking a month earlier that this work was going to be taking place for two reasons
1-​the security door was propped open so it wasn’t secure which made me feel oh so safe (sarcasm) and
2-​when work takes place like this there is always debris in the air I would rather not ingest.
But maybe the work wasn’t scheduled then but usually these places have those things scheduled out.
The room was okay but the shower water never got hot not even tepid for any of the three showers I took and the bottom of the bathtub was coming off so it would clog the drain. (See pic).
The room came with one bag of regular coffee and when I asked for more I was only allowed three more bags. (Which make tiny cups so basically I was allowed two cups of coffee). Seriously. Give me as many as I need. It’s not like I wanted twelve but for two people? Three a piece to make actually three cups (normal size) seems nice.
We needed to leave at 4am for a race if my friend and I wanted actual coffee we would have to now get up earlier and search for an open place.

Stayed at the clarion during my boyfriends surprise birthday trip. The staff was really friendly and the hotel was clean. The breakfast hours, in my opinion, ended to early. However, for the price, it is a good hotel!

We stayed here overnight. Desk staff was courteous and efficient. Internet was fast. Room was decent. Looks like they did some upgrades to the room. The bed was comfy with the pillow top mattress. Flat screen tv, microwave and fridge was nice. Bathroom can use an upgrade to the tub (looks a bit old and stained) and plumbing. We could hear our neighbour taking a shower at 3am. The plumbing can really, really use an upgrade. Walls are a bit thin so you can hear muffled conversation from next door. Our room curtain was dirty and stained with someone’s previous meal? Room had a stale smell when we first entered but opening the window did the trick!
Continental breakfast was better than many places we have stayed. There was a good variety of food (eg bacon, sausage, scrambled egg from carton, biscuits and gravy, waffles, coffee, juice, milk, yogurt, cereal, bread, muffins and bagels).
Hotel located next to freeway so the location is great. You can hear the traffic. Great place to stay for the price and location. I am a deep sleeper for the most part so I slept fine. However, light sleepers who are noise sensitive should consider bringing ear plugs.
We will came back because of the location and price.

Stayed here for 4 days during a business trip. Hotel itself was great. Everything was well maintained and very clean. Looked like it was recently renovated. Room was spacious and Internet worked flawlessly. Staff was very helpful when I had a question. I took the shuttle a few times and only had to wait a minute or two. I usually get tired of hotel breakfasts after the 2^nd day, but they had quite a bit of items on the menu. They offer about 4 or 5 different hot items like biscuits and gravy, waffles, eggs, and sausages.
There are also a lot of places within walking distance like restaurants, bars and a movie theater.
Overall a very positive stay. Will definitely come back in the future.

Ehh… you get what you pay for.
Don’t expect too much of the complimentary breakfast. For one thing, the kitchen is waaay understaffed– I only saw one female employee dash in and out of the door between the kitchen and meeting room-​turned-​dining area throughout the entire three hour block reserved for breakfast. The menu remained the same during my stay– your typical potatoes, eggs (made from some sort of liquid egg product), sausages, bacon (not fried to a crisp, but rather microwaved. yes microwaved. as evidenced with my own two eyes), a waffle maker and mini waffle maker, along with batter for DIY waffles, coffee machine, packets of instant oatmeal, three or four cereals, yogurt, and a pastry case of muffins and bagels, which in hindsight, is a lot of variety. I suppose it was just too much to ask for an omelet station at a two-​star hotel. But I digress. I should be rating the hotel stay anyway, rather than the complimentary breakfast.
The room: standard. two beds, tv, fridge, air conditioning unit… I found it a bit odd that the sink was outside the bathroom and right in front of the door, but it was fine. Not terrible, considering the price.
The hotel: small gym w/​a few machines, one elevator for all (four/​five?) floors, nice lobby area with desks and outlets for those who need workspace. There was hot water, coffee, and tea available in the lobby too. No pool though much to our disappointment.
Overall, not a bad place to stay. if all you’re looking for is a bed for the night.

TALKED TO THE OWNER HIMSELF:
Explained the entire «nightmare» of the stay there. The only reason I gave them a high rating at first was because of the desk staff. ALTHOUGH I AM NOT CHANGING THE RATING OF THE DESK STAFF I want to amend the comments about the manager and OWNER. I was told that by dialing 9 — I could get an outside line. Phone included in the room… WELL … I was charged for phone calls (was told included in the room fee — free) twice on my CC. (I had a cell phone with me so shy would I use a land line and pay for it???) The owner assured me that ALL charges but the room would be removed from my bill. I also asked that he do an investigation as to the reasoning that there were ASHES in the room when this is a NON-​SMOKING hotel. He assured me both would be done. WRONG … they did reverse one of the double charged phone fees but as of today I have not seen a reversal of the other. ALSO I never got a room credit for the condition of the room. (He told me he would give me a credit on my bill for this also. An adjustmed amount) Had my husband and our friend not unpacked when I FOUND the ashes we would of gotten another room. but they had and protested at the idea of moving all. (The first stay here was a moldy AC and we were not unpacked so got a room change immediately. My daughter in law also smelled it and said she could not stay in that room either, Yuck!!) I found it very upsetting that the manager, Kelly, would deneigh my reality — (We will have have to investigate this claim as we did not see ashes. ya someone cleaned them before she went up there) indicating that I am a lier — and that there were not ashes in the room. I found it unacceptable as a client to be blown off as I felt I was. Kelly and then the OWNER. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN TO ANOTHER HOTEL. This hotel has «moldy» air conditioners, Cig. smell in it (Guess at one time it may of been smoking hotel) and a dishonest owner. On a 1 — 5 If I could give a minus I would. –10 for dishonest management and owner. I probably will not see the refund or a credit on my card. You will be insulted, and treated rude by manager. (Not desk staff). AGAIN RUN RUN RUN. There has got to be a better hotel in the area.

For a hotel that only gets 1 – 2 stars this place is great! They are friendly and the service is generally great. The only downside is that they seem understaffed at times and the breakfast never changes.

Not sure why there aren’t many reviews here on Unilocal,but if you go on Trip Advisor you will be able to see more.
First off, this hotel is very good for the price. Nothing to really complain about other than a few minor things. The little chair in our room had a mysterious stain. Also a few on the floor, but I wasn’t expecting prestine accomodations to begin with. If you are squeamish about these things than you should probably book somewhere more fancy (and pricier).
The free breakfast was pretty good. Eggs (fake kind it seemed), sausage, biscuits with gravy and an assortment of muffins and cookies. I didn’t try making my own waffles but they looked alright as far as I could tell. I really wished their televisions were of better quality however. A little on the static-​ey side.
All in all I wouldn’t mind staying here again. The surrounding area is also very good, what with a movie theater across the street, and a new shopping center just 10 minutes away. While we were here we needed a place that served food late (after 10pm) so viola, IHOP. Also I cannot forget the IKEA, just in case you feel the urge to shop for furniture :)

We stayed in a King Suite for 7 days. Room was nice and clean and the free breakfast included make-​your-​own waffles, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, cereal, fruits, yogurt etc… very nice! However, on our last day we had to check out at 4am to catch our flight. It was early, I thought I packed everything but when we got home at 5pm (2pm EST) when I realized I was missing an outfit. I knew exactly where I left it as I had not taken it out of the drawer since I unpacked. Well, we called as soon as we got home (same day as check out). They took our information down and said they would call back. They never called back. I called to follow up the next day and they said they did not see my clothes. (mind you, this is a BRIGHT orange blouse/​slacks outfit). I expressed some concern since I called the same day we left so they said the Regional Manager would call me within the hour. 7 days have now passed and I have not received a call from them. Lesson Learned: Don’t trust their housekeeping!

Clean & affordable but no pool or hot tub.
