Mixxedfit

I can’t believe almost a year has gone by since I first joined Mixxedfit. I’ve always been one of those people with exercise ADD. I get bored easily and have a hard time keeping my interest. This hasn’t been the case with MF. Every time I even think I know all the dances, I learn a whole bunch of new ones with an awesome instructor. On top of that I can come as many times as I like with my membership. That is super rare now days where everyone wants to charge you an arm and a leg. If you plan on trying MF (which you should), you should keep somethings in mind:
Come early — Parking is tight and the classes get filled up quick. If you are on time you still might not get any room.
Be prepared to share your space — they pack the classes in tight so they can get as many people as they can to enjoy. You might have a neighbor that is a tad bit closer but it’s all love so keep moving and enjoy.
Bring water — They don’t have a water fountain but you can water in the vending machine.
If you are serious in finding a place that makes working out feel like partying than MF is for you.

This is not just a regular gym. Though repetitive, but easy to follow dance styles/​moves and staff are extremely friendly.

Okay, so this review is for the Mixxedfit classes only. I purchased a Groupon deal that offered 10 Mixxedfit dance classes. So far, I have used about 5 of those 10 passes. The dance work out itself is not so bad, however, they are all repeats of similar movements. I guess some of their instructors come up with these movements and other instructors just use them for their classes. So far, there was only one instructor that really focused on strengthening the legs and buttocks and that was the only time that I felt the intensity of the workout.
One thing I really really don’t like about this place is that it does not regulate the number of people per class. Often times during the popular off-​work hours, the place is crammed! There is barely any space to move around in, let along waving your arms and legs around for workout. Even if you arrive early, there are people who came in late that would just cut in front of you and invade your space. Like… thanks a lot… lady, I definitely don’t need any of that space to actually DO my workout.
Another thing is that the workout space only has few fans in the corners. They keep all the doors shut because of noise complaints from the neighbors. On a hot day, the studio is not a pleasant place to be. It gets hot and humid and… stanky real fast. I do not enjoy a side order of BO with my 1-​hour workout, no thanks.

Super fun! Great way to switch up your work out. No worries if you’re not a good dancer or feel like you’d be embarrassed because everyone is set on paying attention to themselves and concentrating on getting the beat that nobody really looks at other people. Getting there early is key so you don’t get stuck in the back on top of people. The owner Lori is super intense so when you take her class be prepared! I like that they don’t single you out if you are not doing the moves correctly or full out. Sometimes I slow down my pace and intensity because I am getting my butt kicked and just want to take a break and still keep moving. The music is fun and I like that the instructors ask for suggestions. Definitely worth checking the place out.

The Mixxedfit format is a cheap version of Zumba it’s just hip hop with nothing to offer lots of the instructors are so off beat and they are fat, the apparel they wear makes them look cheap, the creator is a Beto Perez wanna be that in a dishonest way crashes zumba classes training her «instructors to implement that format» so I won’t even give a review for that cheap format

MixxedFit is a dance fitness program that focuses on cardio and toning to hip-​hop and pop songs. This review is for the Mixxedfit program specifically at Dojo 3, which is the same ownership/​establishment as Dojo Zumba, Krav Maga Renton, and D3 Crossfit.
I started at Dojo 3 when they offered a really great Groupon deal to try out both the Performing Arts & Dance Program (now disbanded) and MixxedFit dance.
Pros:
–You are constantly moving for the entire hour so it’s a great workout.
–Moves are repetitive and easy to learn.
–Classes are available every evening & select weekend hours.
Cons:
–Crummy parking. You can park across the street but it’s Renton city hall and I’ve literally watched the cops release people fresh from jail in that parking lot.
–Classes are very crowded. I personally dislike worrying about bumping into someone else during my workouts.
–There is too much variation between instructors. Some are high energy, sharp and fun, while others are sloppy.
–They don’t do the best job of cleaning the floors between classes. I’ve found clumps and hair and rocks on the floor while I was trying to stretch.
It has the potential to be a great program, especially for beginning dancers. It is a great workout! But I was too turned off by the crowd and the (sometimes) crummy instructors to go back.
