I have to temper my enthusiasm for O! Baguette a bit, here’s why: I tried a Mongolian Beef baguette, and the sandwich was filled with the same Mongolian beef you might expect over a bed of rice, with less vegetables and some jalapenos added. It wasn’t a successful combination, the beef was overly tenderized and the corn-starch sauce just made a non-tasty mess. I consistently chose to wipe my face with a napkin rather than lick the sauce off my lips! I will try a few others, but avoid ones that look like a bun was swapped for rice. The pulled pork is my favorite so far, and the fried egg is still a winner.

Stopped in on a Friday around 3pm and nobody was at that counter, but heard plenty of people in the kitchen. I waited, checked a few emails on my phone but after a couple minutes I had to say excuse me about 10 times before an employee from the Chinese restaurant next door came and said sorry about the wait. I’m not one to complain about wait, good food takes time to prepare. I ordered 5 Vietnamese style banh mi, and after 10 mins got my food and went home to eat. A few initial observations, the baguette was not toasted and there was no typical pickled veggies like an original banh mi and the jalapenos were pickled — similar to the jalapeños you see at nacho station at 7 – 11. For the price of sandwich, service and so-so food — I would recommend taking yourself 1 min down the street to Great Wall and get a real one.

It’s not your traditional banh mi. No daikon or pâté but the pickled jalapeños and sliced red onions along with the gourmet meats make it worth your while. It’s a little pricier than most banh mis but you’re not gonna get a banh mi like this anywhere else.

I want to love this place but I think the sandwiches are way over priced! I tasted 4 sandwiched and some are good and some are meh. When you get the not so good ones, it makes me feel bad that I paid this much for a freaking sandwich!!! I hope they didn’t over price to make it seems«gourmet».

The Vietnamese sandwiches were seriously one of the best I’ve had, and it’s really hard to find a place with really good bread, sauce and meat all together. My boyfriend and I loooooooved it! We had the garlic beef sandwich and the tofu with fried egg add on = yummy! The drinks came in cute jars, honestly not worth $ 4 dollars though, but it’s still good! The milk tea and basil limeade were both great :) Overall the service was nice and fast, just like the food. Pretty simple and easy menu selection! The place is only open until 3, but if you still want a banh mi from there, the restaurant next door«BLU» serves it there, which is a great idea because I like that restaurant also!

HORRIBLESERVICE! It took 50 minutes for a take out order! I arrived and there was no one in sight. I called out, «Hello» very loudly several times. After 10 minutes I went behind the counter to call into the kitchen, still no response. So, I had to go next door to their sister store to ask if anyone will take my order. I then had to repeat myself several times before he took my order correctly, which was another 5 minute endeavor. I then waited 25 minutes before I got fed up with waiting. I called out, «Hello» very loudly several times. After a few minutes I went behind the counter to call into the kitchen, and I see both my sandwiches ready to go just sitting on the counter! The chef comes out of the kitchen after I call out, «Hello» again. He then calls a waiter to finally give me my sandwiches. I then spend 5 minutes complaining about the service and the lady has the nerve to give me a loyalty card with the exact number of stamps that I had already purchased. I told her that I’m not the only person on Unilocal that describes their service as horrible and that I still wanted to give them a chance. Bad decision, patience was not a virtue in this case. I will never go back to that place… ever! Save yourself the time and avoid this place!

O Baguette recently opened adjacent to the BLU Hong Kong Bistro, apparently owned under the same Papaya Corporation. This banh mi location opened last month and is their second location. Three visits to their first location were unsuccessful as it was either closed or empty with no staff. On a Friday afternoon, might as well see what’s up here. Upon arrival, several Beacon Plumbing & Mechanical* Trucks were parked out front and part of the parking lot roped off with caution tape. Found out later that they didn’t have any running water, AFTER we finished eating. Oh well. The menu consisted of three main categories: Banh mi, side items/add ons, and specialty drinks. Got the caramel pork belly banh mi combo with an addition of a fried egg. Overall, the banh mi was a small size but quite tasty. An additional $ 2 to the banh mi order made it a combo(fries and drink added) plus $ 1.50 for a fried egg. Unfortunately, the exorbitant price point would easily dissuade a reasonable person to frequent this establishment. Call me a cheap bastard but don’t take my advice lightly when I say the $ 7 price tag on said banh mi should include the fries and a drink, at a minimum. _______________ *Remember that commercial with Seahawks running back, Marshawn Lynch? — stop freakin’, get Beacon!
