I am not a fan. I ordered a number 2 meal to go. When I got where I was going and opened the burger I noticed the grease had completely soaked the bread and the whole thing fell apart. I took two or three bites and realized this was going to make me sick if I continued. I tried the fries(they have the fat ones) and they were over cooked and crunchy. The soda was good but I won’t be back.

Having stopped by many years ago due to the name and location, I stopped by on a Saturday instead of In-N-Out. Sadly I should have passed this and traveled to In-N-Out. I ordered a burger(with the works) and fries. The burger was really dry and the bun, though slightly toasted, was too dry also. I couldn’t taste the condiments. The coarsely chopped lettuce also made the burger more sloppy than necessary. The steak fries were fine, nothing so special that I ould return for them. The fries were freshly cooked to order but they didn’t make up for the burger.

Me and my boyfriend were in the mood for some burgers and a Unilocal search showed this place as the closest to us, it looks like a little hole in the wall type place. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the man at the counter(i think he was the owner) hes very friendly and makes you feel like he’s known you forever. They have a lot of different options as far as food goes, hot dogs, burgers, tacos, mexican dishes, I even saw some omelette options, i went ahead and ordered a bacon cheeseburger combo and my boyfriend got the double chili cheeseburger combo, lemonade and coke to finish it off(side note: after us some guy showed up and while he was ordering asked for grilled onions on his burger, guess you can customize) didn’t take long to receive our food, less than 10 minutes. Portions are huge! As far as the flavor goes, i wish it would’ve been more seasoned, both my bf and I had to drench it in salt, the burger and fries, i did like my burger just wished it had more seasoning, i tasted his and it was alright, granted im not a big chili cheese fan so i may be biased. the fries were steak fries, again pretty plain, and kinda soggy. I asked for some extra ranch which was .75 i believe, next time i’ll skip it, i prefer a more buttermilk type ranch and this wasn’t it so if you like that buttermilk flavor then skip the ranch here. Overall it was ok, will we go back? Yeah, most likely. Was it the best burger I’ve ever had? No, but it satisfied our craving and kept us full literally the rest of the day.

Super good! My hamburger was tasty, great char on the burger, and my husband’s cheeseburger was the same. HUGEBURGERS, the meat was as large as the very large bun. plus the steak fries were hot and crispy. The owner was soooooooo nice. When he heard me commenting that the on the chili fries looked good, he brought over huge plate. They were great too. Chili was tasty, cheese was oozey. Perfect place if you’re hung over!

Oh Big Fat. You really live up to your name as I’m walking out of here. That exactly how I feel. Big and Fat! This place has been opened for yearsssss. I can’t say exactly how long but the décor is original and it’s definitely old. The staff is very friendly and they know almost everyone that walks in. I stick to their burgers. I want to say that it’s a little on the greasy side sometimes but it’s still good. All I have to do is dab it with a napkin and I’m set to go! Lol. It’s very inexpensive and pretty quick too. You can eat out or in. Aside from their burgers I’ve tried their barbacoa tacos and they’re not that bad at all. I think the last time I was here they had removed the sign so it can be that they no longer serve them :( The menu is pretty wide. You can find burritos, burgers, tacos, and random plates. Definitely one of the little of lake balboa:)

I had Big Fat bookmarked for quiet some time now and we decided to give it a shot since we were both in the mood for a burger. When we arrived there was plenty of parking and the place wasn’t busy. They had two tvs playing soccer and the guy at the front register was funny and very friendly. I decided to go with the double bacon cheeseburger and an ice tea while my fiancé got the bacon cheeseburger, chili cheese fries to share and a Diet Coke. The guy brought our meals on a tray and the fries and burgers looked delicious. The burgers were huge and the fries were steak fries drenched in chili and cheese. The burger didn’t really have a taste to it. It was kind of plain and boring. There was nothing special about this burger that would warrant a 5 star rating. I decided to have a bite of the fries and it was the same, plain taste and not a lot of flavor. I noticed my fiancé grabbed a bunch of ketchup, mustard, salt and peperoncinos to add to her burger and now I see why. I really wanted to like this place and I thought I might of possibly found a hole in the wall with great burgers but unfortunately this wasn’t it. We probably won’t be coming back but I wish them the best of luck because the guy at the counter was super friendly! OOO 3 out of 5 Afros

This place has GREAT bacon cheese burgers and great Teriyaki plates. Perfect definition of a little hole in the wall. Not the cleanest or fanciest place but the food makes up for it. Burgers are a decent size. Not a lot of seating and its pretty hot if you go on a hot day even if you are indoors so I would get a the order to-go if it was a hot sunny day. Why are you still reading this!?! Go get the damn burger?! GO!!!

Half my order wasn’t in the bag when I got home, which probably would have been okay if the half I did get was edible. The burgers are made with cheap rubbery, fatty meat. I’m not sure how this place has 4 stars. If your tastebuds work, find a better burger joint.

I’ve been coming to Big Fat since my high school days. Their name is honest, this isn’t a dieter’s safe haven. On the other hand, it does satisfy my hankerin’ for burgers and fries. I also really enjoy their tuna melt and that’s what I am getting tonight. In recent years the menu has expanded to include home style Mexican fare, which is also good. Good eatin’! & ¡Buen provecho!

Really great place to eat a casual meal. I love the turkey burgers here. The owner is a super chill and nice dude who is always pleasant. They have a pinball machine too! Jack Bot. Usually it’s turned on but if it’s not, he will turn it on for you. Great place to be fed and play some pinball.

This place sucked. They burned my patty. I told him I didn’t want cheese or onion on either of my ordered burgers, yet I received cheese on one burger and onion on both. I also ordered chili cheese fries but I received an order of fries. I called to ask for a replacement order but the manager was very rude and insisted my order was correct. I’m allergic to onion so I know for a fact I did not order onion. The manager refused to refund my order. Horrible service. I don’t know how this restaurant has 4 stars. I wouldn’t recommend anybody to eat here Every refill is .75¢.

Slightly pricey I expected a lower total. Big fat cheese burger, chicken sandwich and a large fry was $ 12.40. Our favorite spot for a similar meal is $ 8-$ 9… Ehhhh I was going across the street to get 4 tacos for $ 6 but changed my mind and tried this place guess that’s what you get. Food is ok not great not bad…

The boyfriend and I were debating on where to eat and he had mentioned Big Fat, and knowing that this was his late grandmother’s favorite place, I figured why not. This is your typical hole in the wall restaurant. There’s about maybe six to eight benches for you to choose to sit at unless you sit at the corner table that extends from one corner to the door and you can stare at the street. a pin ball machine and a shooting game(unplugged) and some quarter slots for candy. The wall paper covers only the upper half of the restaurant, while the bottom is faux wood. & there are so many signs and pictures surrounding the register that I felt a bit claustrophobic. I love the variety, but the way the options are scattered turned me off a bit. Food wise, I had the double cheeseburger combo(fries plus a drink) and a carne asada taco(meat only) & let me warn you now, if a cheeseburger at in N out gets you full, don’t get the double here. the burger was as big as my hand! I will not lie, for a hole in the wall, it was pretty delicious. The meat was cooked to perfection and it was full of flavor! I however did not like how quickly the buns became soggy which made it difficult to hold, but that’s just a minor flaw I’m willing to overlook in how good the food actually was. The only downfall, although I’m hoping it does not occur in any future visits, was their clientele. Two gentlemen sat one table over across from us, and from the moment they sat down, all they did was stare at me. I tried not to let it bother me, but you know how you like to look at EVERYTHING when you go somewhere for the first time? yeah, well I couldn’t even do that. Every time my eyes looked up in front of me to pay more attention to what my friend was saying(to look at them i’d have to turn my head right) it’s like they knew and would turn their head around to stare. I was just glad they left before me. & I wasn’t too fond of the employee calling me sweety either. Anyway, it’s pretty delicious, and definitely the cure to any and all hangovers. For being the picky eater all my friends know I am, I’d eat here again. not by myself though. HAHA!
