Exotic Garden Nursery

Difficult to find & disaster to get in & out of. Literally a hole in the wall. Was there for ten minutes & only one around was too busy watering to see if I needed something. Maybe I should have called to set up an appointment? Don’t waste your time as I did!

Stopped by here after going to a nearby nursery that didn’t really help me and left me wandering. Glad I found this place via Unilocal because the owner is very friendly. He did his best to explain each plant to us and was very very patient.
He didn’t have the delphinium or hydrangeas I was looking for but I ended up buying other plants from him anyways. His selection is a bit on the smaller side for flowers but everything is still good quality and at fair prices. He gave tons of tips and advice on how to maintain my fruit trees. Highly recommend to check this place out!

This place is fabulous and Jimmy King (the owner) is a gem! I’m new to CA, so my knowledge of the local vegetation is somewhat limited. Jimmy was incredibly patient with me, answered all of my questions and provided me with exceptional customer service. He does business the right way… by «going the extra mile» for his customers. The variety of plants he carries is amazing and he’s happy to offer his design expertise by request. This guy deserves your business… without a doubt!

Excellent experience here. My Mom’s been wanting a Coastal Coral Tree because of it’s vibrant flowers and eventual huge size and shade it will offer, so I called and the owner told me they had one in stock. Showed up close to closing to get a look at it, the owner and a staff memeber, Thomas, were very polite and helpful. After we decided that we wanted the tree, they spent half an hour with us (Even though it was already past closing time) figuring out how fit it into our SUV so we wouldn’t have to pay for delivery. Great customer service and selection of plants/​trees, my Mom is ecstatic about her coral tree, highly recommend!

What a great find. A friend had recently told me about using a particular nursery as opposed to going to say Home Depot or Lowes, and how much better it was (cheaper too). After going to said nursery, I agreed. Then while driving home one evening, I passed Exotic Garden Nursery. It was over an hour past their closing (I didn’t know at the time), but I pulled in. There I found Jimmy who was more than happy to talk to me and help me find the right plants for my yard.
He walked me around their HUGE lot and pointed out several options (He actually asked what I wanted and my goals for this planting!!). I told him I would be back the next day to get everything. The next day I came back and Jimmy wasn’t around. But, the gentleman who was (didn’t get a name) was so helpful and guided me to what I needed, and provided a few tips for me as well.
The prices were incredible (even less than the nursery), the plants are better and I am one satisfied customer already. I’ll definitely be coming back for the many things I plan to do with my new yard.
(Over the following weekend, being so impressed with Exotic Garden, I found myself at Home Depot — for other non garden items — and felt the urge to stop everyone I saw in the garden section to tell them they’re spending WAY too much. No doubt, I’ll tell them next time!)

Once you meet Jim, the owner, you will know what I mean when I say that this is the most thoughtful and ethical person that I have ever met in this business. Jim’s aesthetics matched mine. Just by talking about what I love and Jim seeing my yard, I knew I was in good hands. My neighbor across the street used him which is how I found out about him. If he can use what you already have and tweak it, he will. He’s not about selling services you don’t need. His pricing was the most reasonable I have encountered in 3 ½ years that I’ve owned my home. I have had 2 prior landscapers and both were expensive, and one underpriced her jobs, only to come back with a ‘more accurate’ price which was several hundreds of dollars more. I needed the 2^nd landscaper to fix what the 1^st landscaper did not do right. I will have Jim seal my concrete and complete several other projects in back and front.

The onwer is very knowledgable and can help you find the right type of plant for your needs. We have purchased just about our entire landscaping from them. They have quite a lot to choose from too. We have been to 5 different nurserys but we keep coming back to this one. This is our go-​to nursery.
Tip: If you bring cash, you dont pay the taxes.
