I’v been to this place several times in the past few months. The service was great the first time I went and bought a few RC electronics I wanted to get into. Then every time after that, i ended up having to be helped by some guy who didn’t want to do any actual work in the store but catch up with old friends who seem to just be hovering in the store not actually buying anything at all then leaving. I’v been held up in there each time I had gone for help with my Rc truck I bought from them for over an hour sometime before I got any actual assistance in between the staff and there friends catching up.
When it came down to asking them general questions any Hobby store employee should know about rc products, their answers were so off compare to what Iv learned on my own since starting again in these hobbies since I was a kid. Its amazing how off the energy is in this place with employees with such attitude. After spending $ 500+ I think my money is well spent else where, where the employees are actually Knowledgeable about different RC Hobbies and care for there work.

When you go to places like this you are paying a little more because they carry things right there. They pay to keep them in stock. Been here many times. Never felt bad or unwelcome even though I’m a girl. And it carries many general parts, cars planes drones. Worth the drive.

Like some say, if you can’t wait for parts by mail or there’s a no Hobby People around go to Hobby Town. The staff, the many times I’ve been there feel as if your bugging them for help. Like I walked and there’s this big guy drifting his RC car around while I’m waiting for him to help, he realized I needed help after his battery ran out. Other times I’ve caught them working on there rc, could have been a customers rc car, but put the customer first who needs help. This place needs training, not random enthusiasts who turn in a application.

Extremely helpful staff willing to spend time with a newbie, I had lots of questions and all were answered… there’s many of these shops in LA, this is the only one I’ll visit time and time again.

These guys are ok, there are some helpful people here but usually your on your own.
The store layout sometimes makes it difficult to find smaller stuff but they do have a good selection

Sam and Carlo and James are all my heroes they are great they know me by name their Cx service is exceptional and have won me over with expertise help and advice. They strive for repeat service not for let’s sell them everything even if he doesn’t need it type of service, I shop their for all my Rc needs and when not in stock eager to order for me!!! Thank you for your time and service

Great customer service and everyone is knowledgeable. Also nice to see some interns working in there learning about the new technology and how robotics and what the kids are learning in school ties into all of this. Just keep your heads up for flying mini drones controlled by a green haired kid. Otherwise it one of the best places to go for RC in the valley…

If you know what you want and the price is right and the location is convenient, why not go to this store. But, if you are new or entering a new segment of RC and need advice, you may not get the right answer but this probably depends on who you talk with at this store. For example, I just started in the RC car segment and showed up to pick up a few car parts, liquid mask and paint. The person assisting me asked if I was into painting cars and I said that I was just starting out.
Well, it would have been nice if he noticed that I had selected paint that was not compatible and brought it too my attention, thus saving me two days labor and the cost of a body and a few cans of paint. My other favorite hobby store operators are pros and would have noticed this and advised me on the spot. Hmm… my fault but no back up either… Details matter rc hobbies. He asked me the question of what I was doing but did not pay attention to the products sitting on his counter as he checked me out.
I have been in this store several other times and had mixed results. Often, I feel like I know more than the staff and have to educate them on what I am buying. They will peddle what they have and have limited knowledge on their products, or at least this was the case with the people I had help me.
Again, if the store works for you then why not use them for your convenience. But, if you are new, I would go to Smith Brothers for flying items and Hot Rod Hobbies or Race Prep for car stuff. I also have received better service at Hobby People down the street.
If they step up the professionalism across their entire staff, maybe they would get more customer’s $. Too bad since I want them to succeed so we have more local choices. I hope this feedback helps them improve in the future but at this time I do not see them as my go to pros. I get better information researching on my own using the internet. Therefore, where is the value added vs. local retail prices with taxes. Help me and I will spend more for the advice and saving me hours of online research.

I have been here about half a dozen times and have had good experiences. The prices are fair and the customer service and support is very good, specifically from Chris. Also, if you are starting out, you can get great advice about what to buy.
To all the people comparing the local hobby shop to buying online, you may want to think twice. If people don’t buy from their local hobby store then it will disappear. Have you been to a bookstore recently? No? Because they are nearly all gone. (They will all be gone soon).
Buying from the local hobby shop has some advantages: You can get help! Who is going to help you when you buy online? Even when they help you over the phone (Blade!), there is only so much they can do. You are going to have to order parts or even send your helicopter in for repair.
However, if you buy from a local hobby shop then you have somewhere to go when you have questions and when you need parts. Hobby House has a wide selection of parts. They were very helpful with my numerous issues with my Blade Nanos and TBE. (You may want to go for the mCPX BL, BTW).
After reading the other reviews, this was too funny:
Parking in rear which forced a long walk around front to enter (2 star deduction).
How lazy can you get? Actually, the parking is great. And, they are open on Sundays.

This place is definitely above all levels when compared to hobby shops around the area, however, certain employees will treat you as if they knew it ALL.
I went in casually looking for some common parts, and the owner will definitely treat and make sure you get what you’re looking for, but get the wrong person to help you, and you’d be in for an unpleasant treat. All in all, awesome place, just make sure to get the guy with the «green hair» to help you, he’s the only one who seems to remember we were all born NOT knowing about any hobbies.

Love supporting my local shops and this is by far the best for hobby supplies. The staff knows their shit and will steer you in the right direction if you have problems. Most of the time they have the parts I need in stock and if they don’t they will order it and call you when it arrives. Sam is straight to the point so do not lolly gag with your questions. Chris the green haired wonder knows his multi-​rotor stuff better than a masterbater knows his hand. So get a hobby and get your masterbating ass in there and buy something!

Great place for serious RC hobbyists. Also excellent for expensive-​seeming RC toys. The focus is mostly on helicopters but great airplanes, trucks, and cars. Salespeople were serious but generous with good advice.

Super dope shop! They’re local M& abundant on parts for my DJI drone. Luckily I don’t have to pay shipping from a website & wait for replacement parts instead get them same day. Chris helped me out & was really smart in his field of drones. I can’t wait to come back!

This is by far the best hobby shop in the L.A. area, I’ve been to many recently looking for advice on various RC devices. This place has very knowledgeable employees that can help bring your hobby to a new level. They had the information that I was looking for and the same passion for RC as me, which makes this place much more than just a store. They have a wide assortment of products on hand and are open 7 days a week making it a convenient place to pick up parts for repairs. As far as prices go, everything I’ve bought from here was very close to any price on the internet. Who could ask for more than this?

This is the best hobby shop in town! I needed to get my quadcopter fixed and also needed some help learning more about them. Chris helped me with everything I needed. He knows a lot about quadcopters so any questions I asked he had all the answers to. Chris fixed my copter and taught me a lot about flying. If your looking for a shop that knows what they’re doing, than this is the place to go!

This is the most proffesional store in LA. I bought a helicopter for few hundred dollars in another store and was dissapointed. Here they find me the right match for me and had the spare parts for it. Thanks

The Hobby House is for real. I have an RC car and I don’t know to much about fixing it up. I went in to get the thing looked at because the suspension was giving out at higher speeds and causing it to flip over. Turns out I just needed some oil for the suspension and the thing fixed up right away. The staff was exceedingly professional and friendly about the whole thing.
I will definitely be stopping in again for any other maintenance.

Ladies, this place is a damn money pit, especially if you come here with you husbands who are total RC car freaks.
The place is large with an abundance of everything you can think of for RC cars and helicopters. Ample employees there to help you out, in fact, I enjoyed interacting with all of them that were there to help us. Very kind and happy to help and they are all very knowledgeable. I also liked that before they give you their advice, they make sure its backed up by some sort of computer knowledge as they type in what you’re inquiring about and they tell you if it will work for your type of car or whatever you’re looking to do.
We bought a brand new lipo battery (can’t remember the kind, that’s my husbands forte, but its supposed to make his RC go super fast) as well as a brand new motor to go with it. Over $ 200 later I was ready to strangle my husband and everyone else in that store (keep in mind I’m 7 days away from my due date so maybe hormones played a roll in this feeling). I can’t dock off stars because I was unhappy with my husbands spending though. They are well stocked, are very organized, and have great employees here. What more can you ask for?
The only downfall is that if you’re coming from out of town (for us, Glendale/​Burbank), the drive on the freeway sucks because there’s always traffic on that 101 fwy. There is ample parking either in the large lot behind the place or on the side street next to it. No parking in the front though.
