Food here is simply amazing, i had the mole enchiladas they were authintic and super tasty. Hubby had the seafood burrito and as picky as he is he loved it. which tells alot about a place coming from him. We also tried a tostad really yummy and flavorful. Complementary chips and salsa were on point. We will be back and highly recommend this place. Ohhh and customer service was great!

Wonderful little hole in the wall located in Reseda. I loved pretty much everything we ordered. The seafood cocktail was fresh and the green enchiladas were yum too. They give you free chips and salsa, always a plus. The salsa was definitely on the spicy side and starts to kick in after you’ve been eating it for awhile. Made my nose run but it’s worth it for the delicious food they serve here. My favorite part of the meal was the sope which is a Salvadorian delicacy. The meat was hot and the dough was fresh. I would definitely come back to this place to try more of their amazing food!

I have been coming to izzys for years now and the past couple months they have been slipping. Every time I go in it has been HORRIBLE. Today was the worst ! First of all, they charged us $ 24 for 8 tacos when the sign says $ 1 tacos on Tuesdays, then we get home and the meat has NO flavor at all they were extremely dry. She didn’t give us any limes or anything to put on them. We will not be going back anymore. We are sticking to tacos Reyes.

My actual 3rd time here and oh boy when I asked for a strawberry Lemon aid you would have thought I sold something or caused such a big ruckus another waiter had to come to my table and deny my request. Then nothing for almost 10 minutes. No water plain Lemon aid no service I thought I was going to have to leave. The second waiter came back like nothing had happened and ask if I wanted to order something. I said well can I get a plain Lemon aid??? she reply ed he didn’t bring you one? I said to her He never returned to the table. She took my order for fried fish and said oh I never sold anyone that before. I thought to my self Humm. I’ve had. It twice before as with the same for the strawberry lemon aid. So far they have try ed to take my half eten plate with no offer for desert.

I passed by the other day and saw that this place had an A frame with great deals and free delivery. It doesn’t say that here though. Thought I’d call and ask anyways. When the lady answers, I asked her, she stayed quiet then asked«where? «giving her my local cross streets indicating its right around the corner, she attempts for about two minutes to understand my crystal clear pronounced address digits. Didn’t take my street, jumped to what I wanted, I said the mojarra plate. She then told me there would be a 20 dollar delivery fee. WHAT… I asked again and it was confirmed. «Not ten dollars not five dollars .» She says. «oh okay because outside it says free delivery» «oh okay«she replies. «Thank you!”“okay bye ». Classic family owned. Not too sure Whatsup here. But as a fellow business owner I scoff at the ethic.

Good stuff! I had the wet shrimp burrito and it was delicious. His cute kid was helping him wait the tables, so the vibe was very family and pleasant. Huge portions, too. There is a nice spice to the salsa, too.

Stopped in yesterday for the first time to try something different in the area, I’m glad I did. Tried the hard shell tacos on «Taco Tuesday» and they were excellent, no skimping on the fixings here… I was pleasantly surprised when in addition to chips and salsa, I was given a nice cup of spicy vegetable soup. Nice touch! Got the bill and it was less than 4 dollars… had to leave a nice for the generous helping, good food and attentiveness by the gentleman who served me. Filled water twice and asked if everything was okay when my mouth wasn’t full of food. Looking forward to bringing my family here, they are going to love it and I think you will too!

Bottom line: Very good, authentic food. My Review on my first experience having take out: Ordered Shrimp Cocktail, Green Enchiladas(Shrimp), and two carne asada tacos. I was very impressed that they thought of packing everything from complimentary chips and salsa, complimentary spicy vegetable soup, tostadas AND saltines for the cocktail, limes, avocado, even tabasco sauce included amongst a selection of other home made salsas, napkins, plasticware. The price was a bit more expensive than other Mexican food… particularly the enchiladas $ 10 for the plate. It was supposed to be taco Tuesday and we ordered 2 .99cent tacos and were charged $ 3.50 for them. The Shrimp cocktail was competitively priced, I suppose, at $ 13 for the large portion. Plenty for 2, I’d say even 4 servings in the portion… lots of shrimp in there! My experience waiting for the food: I sat and watched the place get busy. With only 1 cook(seemed like the owner, herself) and 1 waiter/server/helper, I could see the orders were getting overwhelming and some fell through the cracks people had to wait longer than usual to get serviced, the orders never made it into the kitchen until the kind woman cooking realized many patrons had not been helped. I hope they improve their service because it’s a little gem. I would recommend calling in your take out order at least 30 min in advance.

Awesome place. We had the mixed seafood Tostadas, Shrimp Burrito and Shrimp Cocktail. We really wanted to find a place in Reseda that offered fresh Mexican style seafood for a good price, and this place did it. Everything was good, except the shrimp cocktail was lacking a bit in flavor– but I think it’s because they let you customize your taste by giving you ketchup and limes /lemon instead of making it their own way, which is unfortunate since I wouldn’t know how to brew the perfect cup. Overall the Shrimp Burrito and tostada was amazing, they also give lots of avocado which makes the meal so much heartier and fresh tasting. Our total was $ 24 for this huge meal which included salsa, chips and soup on the side as well. I do hope this business gets more clients as the lady working there works so hard. She definitely puts on her best attitude and tries to do the little things like bringing the food out at the same time and checking on you whenever you might need something. Today’s visit she handled both the cashier and cooking, it was really admirable. If you’re reading this and haven’t tried, get down there and support the local business!

Dude! Was craving a good burrito and ended up here, since it’s close to my new place. As I sat down, I was served a free cup of delicious soup, and the traditional chips and salsa. That alone is half a meal, and free! I went for a chicken burrito, and the chicken was some of the most deliciously marinated chicken I’ve ever found in a burrito. It would also easily feed two people, keeping in mind the free appetizers. When all was said and done, the bill was a whopping $ 5. This is going to be a go-to place. Traditional Mexican food, homey vibe like walking into someone’s kitchen, super friendly staff, amazing food.

What a little hidden gem in the heart of the San Fernando Valley. I was in area craving some Mexican food. Thanks to Unilocal I found this outstanding place. I love the fact it’s a family business. As I am a big supporter of local owned businesses. If you are coming here with small group or large groups you will love this place. The food quality and flavoring are excellent. I love their crevice that was so good. For all the vegetarian eaters they have several items on the menu you will enjoy. I highly recommend the burritos or the chicken fajitas that so good. They have excellent meat dishes that are very large portions. No matter what you order you will love every bite. Hands down one of the best Mexican foods I ate in a long time. The service is always excellent with a smile.

I always love a great hole in the wall, and for some legit, authentic Mexican food, this place is worth the trip. The menu items you have to try are their chicken enchiladas or their shrimp enchiladas. They come with your standard rice, beans and salad. The taste is just like home, and melts in your mouth. You can wash down these delicious delights with their orchata. Great food at a great price that you will not regret. Service is great, as Marco will make sure that your needs are met. Parking is on Tampa or in the back. It’s usually a non issue.

In my never-ending search for the Holy Grail of Mexican gastronomy we decided to try this place out. We went in with high hopes. What we got was a messy, disorganized restaurant with very poor service. Since we are Spanish speakers, comunication was not an issue. We even rec’d an Amuse Bouche. A flavorful little taste of vegetable soup. It was a nice touch but not enough to make the experience a positive one. As we entered there were about 5 tables, one was occupied by a family, 2 others still had not been bussed and 1 had a washrag on top. We chose the one with a wash rag(I just tossed it onto one of the other tables!!) We grabbed our own menus and the waiter/cook/busboy dropped off the soup and 2 more menus, and took our drink order. The horchata is very bland just tasted like sugarless rice water. We ordered the green enchiladas for my wife, 1 carne asada taco each for the kids and I ordered a ceviche tostada to start and a flautas plate. The tostada was ok and not super fresh like I would have liked. The kids asada tacos were well flavored and were served on homemade corn tortillas. The green enchiladas were very good yet the rice & beans were lacking. The rice was hard and the beans were served luke warm. My flautas never made it to the table. I had one enchilada and wasn’t even in the mood to wait for them to fire a new order. The flautas were on the bill and was removed when I reminded him that I never got them. Probably won’t be back as there are too many other Mexican places that I still need visit. Can you believe we passed Salsa & Beer and Las Fuentes on our way to this place!

I’m a little apprehensive in trying out different Mexican food locations, for many reasons, but yet I was very happy I came here. The one thing that stood out here was their Hospitality that I received during my visit. They made me feel like I was at home. The server and the owner really did a great job in catering to all their guests. This little spot only seats about 20 people if that. So its never about the size, its what you do with it that makes it work. All your meals are served with chips and salsa and the salsa is a little bit spicy. All their food is made to order, just like you would receive like you where at home. You can see them make you meal, depending on where you sit. The plates for all their dishes are very appealing and most of all delicious. So I have another little spot in the Valley. A plus for your Hospitality and service, and the Quality of your food. Great Job. 2015 Unilocal Challenge.046/100

Ordered the mojado de Camarones, fmojado de pescado, nachos, chili rellenos, cheese quesadilla, and pescado enchiladas and all were sooo good! Their food has a whole lotta flavor. It’s a small restaurant kinda hole in the wall but well worth trying! Cheap food with lots of good flavor. The workers are so nice here a lot. they have really good horchata. Food comes out fairly quick so there isn’t a long wait. They give you chips and salsa and food comes with complimentary soup.

This is the best Mariscos place period. I have never had such fantastic Mexican food. Seriously, lived in SoCal my whole life and this place is amazing! Fresh ingredients, great service, and a wonderful blend of flavors. We had the ceviche tostadas and chicken enchiladas. Wonderful!

Only been here a few times, but it’s always been a pleasure. Mainly got enchiladas because they’re kind of A Perfect Food. Licked my chops so hard my cat was jealous. People were super nice too. A bit hard to find — don’t give up!

Went to Izzy’s Café with a friend and I really enjoyed the food here. I ordered the chicken enchiladas in green sauce with rice and beans and he got some chicken tacos and rice. The food was pretty good, actually quite flavorful. My enchiladas were filled with a lot of shredded white chicken meat, cheese and topped with a really tasty green sauce. I choose the green because the red sauce is apparently spicy. I would come back here to eat because not only is the food pretty good and fairly cheap, but its one of the few places around here that’s open early that serves their full menu. Because sometimes I want something besides breakfast in the early am. But be aware that they don’t speak English, the area is a bit sketchy and there’s only street parking available.
