I guess it’s a hit or miss restaurant. My first experience was aweful. Bad beef swarma plate. Bland-tasteless beef, oily rice(yes, oily rice!). I was hungry, still couldn’t enjoy the food Next time when I was there, there foods were pretty good. Chicken swarma was full with good meat & fresh salads. I liked it. It’s a halal place, so that’s there main plus point. I’ll probably go back there again

This place has changed hands and is now known as Valley Sub which is a bit of a misnomer since most of the old menu items are still available and no one really goes there for subs. The old owners were Turkish and their menu was typical middle eastern Kabobs, Gyros, Falafel, Shawarma, etc. The new owners are Persian and are adding Persian dishes to the menu and keeping the old menu items as well(for the most part). The«restaurant» is located inside the Valley Produce Market building and is really a «hole in the wall» food stand — but the food is prepared right there and is delicious and a wonderful value! As long as you don’t mind folding chairs and plastic tables set out among exiting market customers with their shopping carts, this place is a gem. The owners seem to really care about the food they are serving and are happy to bring over items for you to taste. Really a wonderful little dive of a «Pita Stand» that is great for lunch if you are in the area!

Oh NOOO! New owner! I am a regular at this place and it sucks that the old owner and food are gone. I ordered beef shawerma plate. The beef was overcooked, the hummus was sweet, and the salad looked like leftover. The lady at the counter was nice. Does anyone know the name of the food truck of the old owner or a good beef shawerma in the valley?

New owners, new name. Although they said it’s the same chef, it’s not quite the same. Remains to be seen. They said the former guys are doing a food truck!

Can I leave a BIGFATZERO??? I found a hair in my food! The owner says he can change it for me. WTF? Besides that I see the shawarma on the thing turning and it looked good so I ordered it and they gave me meat from a container to the right of the grill after they warmed it up. I thought I was getting it right off the roller and not from God knows when… Never going back!

I give this restaurant five stars! They have the most tender tasty & fresh shawarmas, sauces & pickles in town I even suggested to the owner to open a larger restaurant around the Porter Ranch Area! Just an amazing little place in the back of the Middle Eastern supermarket.

Best grilled chicken and beef gyros. On top of that, they have a great customer service! I always call & order ahead & they are very nice.

I’ve been coming here for years. This place is a hit or miss. Mostly miss on the chicken shawarma. I don’t recommend the beef it’s bald and tasteless. Once I got a chicken shawarma that had nothing but fat and cucumbers… It was disgusting.. That was last time I bought from there. It’s sad service and food used to be good.

The food is super delish here. The only thing is that the place looks a bit beat up. It’s inside a super market, so you know how that goes. The cashier is super nice.

Like being back in the Old City. Shopping at Valley Produce with the cacophony of languages, Farsi, Hebrew, etc. The lunch at the indoor counter where the tastes and smells of home blend with the background sounds to give an illusion of being back in the Rova HaYehudi after a day at the shuk

We ordered beef and chicken shawarma and it was delicious! The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because we ordered Turkish coffee, and cought the owner using unfiltered sink water to make it. When tasting it, it tasted so much like dirty water I couldn’t finish it. Tip! Use clean water guys! Great food just wish the coffee was clean.

I really like the food here, but I’m pretty pissed that I just drove here and they were closed well before their stated closing time. Unilocal says they close at 7:30pm. The rude employee who was sweeping up told me they close at 7pm. I suppose the fact that it was 6:50pm had no relevance to him. Bad business.

Terrific food, located inside Valley Produce market. Nice guys, good price. Not a place to go for atmosphere, though with all the middle eastern shoppers bustling nearby, it did feel like being in another country.

I ordered a beef kebab sandwich. A friend of the owner who came in after me ordered 2 plated meals and fries, all of which came out before my single sandwich. All I ordered was a kebab, all that it needed was to be warmed up and put together. In general the staff was moving really slowly. The food was«meh,» nothing to write home about. I’ll be trying another pita place next time.

Great tasting food at a reasonable price and served fast with a smile . The chicken shawarma sandwich is my personal favorite. Plenty of chicken as well as sauce etc packed into this .Wide variety of foods served .It’s a tiny hole in the wall but worth the visit.

I remember coming to Valley Produce with my mom when I was a kid and occasionally we’d stop by the Pita Grill to pick up a shawarma or kabob. Well it’s been many years and I still come here on occasion! It’s always very good and they are also very friendly. Just a note, this isn’t really a «sit down» place(no ambiance whatsoever) it’s more of like a stand inside the grocery store. They have a few awkward tables to sit at but we almost always bring the food home.

BAD, BAD, BAD. Now I’m sure that these reviews are written by friends and family of the owners. Almost all 5 stars? And no real pics? The pics are pics from the menu board from 2 people. If they could whip out their camera to take a pic, isn’t it strange they didn’t take any of the actual food but pictures of pictures? Sad … I think that is very insulting but I guess it’s better than showing the real food which is terrible. This was some of the worst food I’ve ever eaten. No wonder there wasn’t anybody there. Dry meat, stale pita & the tzatziki sauce tasted like it was the washing up water. If I could give it a negative, I would. I’ve eaten in Israel and they should be ashamed to name this Jerusalem Pita Grill. This is not representing Israeli food which is some of the best food on earth.
