Mom and pop shop. Don’t take credit or debit for anything under 5 dollars Food is pretty good. The wife is a tad rude. Husband is very sweet and personable. I’ve had a lot of different things on the menu the best would be the tuna melt worst would be the burgers. Hot bar is a bit suspect. Questionable how long that food has been out.

I agree with my fellow Unilocalers, this place has really sweet and friendly owners. One of my co-workers comes here religiously for«turkey day» on Thursdays and I have come along a few times. It is conveniently located in the bottom of an office building on Isaac Newton Square W(hence the name). They have both a buffet and made to order food. They also have cases upon cases of soft drinks and plenty of cafeteria style seating. I’ll be honest, the place is more than a little out dated looking, and I was apprehensive eating here the first time. But the food(buffet only) that I have had has been surprisingly decent. My co-worker commented the last time we were there that the buffet looks empty because they don’t put out a lot at one time in order not to waste food. Works for me.

3.5 Stars for my newest lunch find near the office, Deli on the Square. I took the bus into work today and was looking for some place within walking distance for lunch … but not too far because it’s freakin’ cold out there. The interwebs popped up Deli on the Square, a typical«deli in an office building» that is popular in NoVa. When I worked in Tysons we had one in our building much like DOTS, and it was a go to for me mainly for convenience, but they had pretty good food. Like many of these places, DOTS has a «pay by the pound» hot and cold bar that looks pretty good, with a variety of Asian and comfort food favorites. Arrive early though — I got there a little after 1PM and it was picked over pretty well. I went for a ribeye steak sandwich combo, served with fries for not quite $ 6. The sandwich was nice, although I wanted it to have a bit more mayo. Fries are typical frozen crinkles, so I’ll probably skip them in the future, but they were cooked well.(ProTip — take advantage of the packages of hot Chinese mustard for dipping your fries) They have a very nice selection of drinks to quench your thirst, and not overpriced as they tend to be at places like this. Another plus is that they have a catering menu that is very affordable — we are always looking for new options to add to the rotation when we cater in lunches for clients or training, so I took one back for the office admin. It’s not especially creative food, but DOTS is a reliable option for quick lunch eats that’s outside of the chain counter service/fast food box.

I had an interview at an office nearby the Deli. I reached a little early and thought of spending my time here. Ordered the Avacado dream pitta bread. I loved it and above all, I liked that the restaurant owner was so friendly. Totally made my day for my interview :)

Another place hidden in what appears to be an office building? So random. The sandwich I got with avocado(avocado dream, I think?) was pretty delish and very fresh. The dining area is nothing special, it appeared they had a lunch bar that didn’t look to shabby itself, but I did not partake. Prices were lowwwwww and the service pleasant. A super find in the city of office buildings they call Reston.

I have been going to Deli on the Square for years. Love the selection on the hot bar and can never go wrong with a selection off the menu. They may be a little difficult to find, but once you know where they are, you will be a return customer. And the owners are wonderful. Keep them in mind for catering too.

The owners of this little deli are so wonderful and the food is delicious. The Avocade Dream is to die for. And they have the greatest drink selection ever. I love the people who work there! It’s definitely not the best ambiance but they have yummy things anyway!

I only recommend the breakfast. Anything else is questionable. The service is good and the owner is friendly. Enough said

Such a convenient little Deli, their breakfast is delish and smells amazing! Food is always ready in about 10 minutes and the older couple who runs it, are super friendly and sweet! Perfect place to go if you don’t have time for lunch or breakfast!

I have never had such fresh tomatoes on a sandwich. The couple who runs the place was very friendly, the sandwich I had was absolutely stuffed with pastrami. Excellent provolone, and the rye bread was amazing. It felt like walking into a particularly spacious hole in the wall in New York City. Great drink selection, and I recommend the cheesecake. I fully intend to go back.

So much for fresh bagels from a deli. They use a frozen bagels similar to lenders. I have been sitting here for the last half hour trying to get this terrible freezer burn after taste out of my mouth. Funny, everyone in my office building(in Issac Newton Sq.) told me to stay away from this place. However, I figured there was no way someone could mess up a bagel. Boy, was I wrong! You can definitely screw up a bagel if it comes from a freezer and has freezer burn. Next time I will listen to my co-workers and listen when they tell me to stay away!

The deli of my dreams. OK i exaggerate but pretty darn close. So my office is moving and as food is rather important to me, I decided to check out the neighborhood deli with my cohorts. Much to my delight the deli was run by a Korean couple!(I’m biased, so sue me) The establishment is modest but clean and offers cold & hot bar as well as an assortment of deli sandwiches. I got a serving of sesame noodles, turkey & gravy, salisbury steak and some fruits. The sesame noodles are AWESOME. I could literally eat that everyday for a whole week. Salisbury steak was quite nice — moist and flavorful, but probably wouldn’t eat that everyday for a week. Turkey was a-ok, gravy was good. The gentleman who I presume to be one of the owners was at the cash register and he was super nice. And let me tell you, he is NOT a cheap dude. You know why? Because he gave me a whole stack of napkins. I hate those food establishments that give you like one square inch of napkin when they KNOW that their food is messy and you’re going to end up needing probably 100 times what they’re giving you. And if you ask for more napkin, they’ll give you another square inch. Hello??? Some may argue that’s better for the environment blah blah. I say they’re just plain CHEAP. Anywho, I digress. Even aside from the generosity with napkins, he personally put all our food in two separate bags, thus dividing the hot from cold — another thoughtful act on his part — and kept his smile the whole time. Call me crazy but stuff like that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Long story short(or not that short but who cares), I am very much looking forward to frequenting this new find. Note to self: I gotta get the recipe for them sesame noodles. So yummy…

This place is truly comforting. It’s kind of dingy looking on the inside, but the owners are sweet and food is basic. Sometimes(or most times) when you don’t need anything fancy, the thing that actually tastes the best is something that you probably could have made yourself. And that’s totally ok by me, because fresh greens and advocado in the california pita with crisp fries on the side is pretty darn good on any day. The prices are also more than reasonable. My company has some pretty big foodies, and conversely some very picky eaters, but nobody will say no to a walk over to the deli. That’s gotta say something right?

I love this place. It’s a great option for too cold, rainy or just plain work until you can’t work no mo’ days. Also known as you don’t have any time for a real lunch. Located within a short distance from our office it’s a place that I would recommend to anyone near by during work hrs. Plus it never gets overly crowded. The owners are an older Korean couple that are genuinely sweet. They have a hot bar open from 11am-2pm? Which consists of typical american foods with a fusion of korean/chinese. It can get kinda pricey so becareful on how you load up your plate as they charge by the pound. My favorite eats from there are the cheese sticks, avocado dream and ANY of their homemade deli sandwiches. Everything is all very fresh and not just slapped together. They also serve your orders(especially those ordering tuna or anything with onions) with mints and hard candies for after your meal. If you want good service and fair prices without the crowd during work hrs. check out Deli on the Square :)
