I’m looking for an apartment so I’ve been literally everywhere in Reston. It’s ridiculous that the prices seem to change by the hour. I’ve called twice in one day and one person will tell you one thing, and another will basically double the price. The leasing agents are RUDE, inconsiderate, and pretty much could care less about leasing an apartment. They look alright. Nothing special. I’m so tired of rude customer service people. I’m a waitress and I know how far please and thank you and just being nice can get you. Do not expect to be treated kindly.

The apartment units are nice on the inside. I have not experienced any rodents. My power never goes out in a storm. Parking is ample and you can pay for a reserved spot which I highly recommend during the winter months. There is a large squirrel population who seem to have taken up residence in the attics of the buildings and that can be a little scary as they are everywhere. The grounds maintenance keepers seem to work on direct sections of the complex more frequently to maintain the look. I have had to call the office at one point for over a month weekly(summer 2015) to have them stay on the grounds maintenance to come out and clean my stairway. Now it seems that they are coming out regularly. The complex Maintenance crew seems to do an excellent job! They are responsive and efficient. I have had several repairs from new carpet to having the walls repainted and I have always been pleased with how they manage my projects in a timely manner. I was displeased that when I moved in the apartment smelled like PURE cat piss. I could not understand how they didn’t pick up on the scent and replace the carpet because myself and my movers all smelled it when I opened the door. But in the end the unit was given all new carpet. The office staff caters to the Hispanic residents. I am non-hispanic and I almost always end up speaking with the regional manager to get results. The office staff doesn’t appear to be able to respond in a timely manner or address issues quickly. They have not submitted tickets for repairs(Winter 2014) I needed nor do they seem to be able to follow up with complaints quickly. Most of the time they say it is because of their lack of staffing. Overall they are friendly but appear to have some aversion to returning voice mails unless you are intending on renting a unit. Although the trash is regularly picked up the garbage area can get down right AWFUL. Many residence do not even attempt to put their trash in the cans. I have seen it torn open regularly by the raccoon population — so don’t think you are going to empty the trash at night. They offer recycling. I have witnessed residents get into verbal altercations in the parking lot over the parking spaces after the heavy snow. It didn’t seem as though the snow plows had come during the day to clear more spaces so we had chairs, stools, and laundry baskets marking spots that had been shoveled. The complex is older and not as well ventilated as a newer apartment and since it is not smoke free you will smell in your unit the smoke from another apartment unit and Fairway management will do nothing about it. At the moment I am wondering just how long it will take them to organize crews and go around the complex to pick all the fallen tree branches and or cut down the dead trees. They use some crazy way of determining the cost for rent. You can call today and get one price and when you call in next week the price for the very same unit may have changed. It looks like a shifty process for price gouging. They manage your utilities so expect that bill to always be at least one month behind but I must say I have a reasonable bill ranging from about $ 100 to $ 150 a month depending on weather, etc. Overall my neighbors are friendly but I have had issues with noise and cigarette smoke drifting into the stairway and my unit. I like the community and local elementary school. I wouldn’t say don’t move here… Just be prepared that you will have to wrap your mind around a different way of doing things from any other apartment you may have rented from in the past.

Awful, truly awful. The entire staff is rude, condescending, and downright despicable. I cannot tell if they don’t understand what you are saying, or if they play dumb so that they can get away with morally reprehensible behavior, but either way they need a serious attitude adjustment. Stay far, far away.

Awful. I have lived her for three months and I have yet to take a shower where I am either scalded or bitterly cold. The apartments are not updated at all and the appliances barley work. In addition, residents throw the garbage EVERYWHERE.

The apartment is nice. but the office people are rude people. watch out if you think about living here. they well come up with ideas to charge you. basically when you think about moving they will come up with a bunch of unreasonable stuff. im so glad to move away from here.
