We just ate here for their lunch buffet. Every sushi dish has super hot spicy sauce. When I brought this to their attention they told me to have the tempura or fried rice. I replied that the tempura was only over cooked veggies and not shrimp. I got back«No! No! No! Shrimp Tempura!» As if I were crazy to suggest that. This buffet is so not worth $ 14.95 in my opinion. I wouldn’t dine/eat here for free or ever again. I could go on and on how the tuna was dry, the salmon looked old etc. No flavor at all. Bottom line is it was all horrible!!!

The interior and the design of the restaurant is very sleek and beautiful. The food however is the opposite. I had the worst Miso soup in my life. It was too salty and from the taste one could tell that it wasn’t fresh. The rolls were horrible as well. I don’t understand when one owns such a beautiful restaurant in a good location and doesn’t care about the quality of the food. I should have checked the reviews before trying this place

Been here twice for their lunch buffet for $ 14.99. I work right across the street from RTC so it’s really about convenience. First time I went it was fine, there was food in each pan and mostly all sushi plates were filled. Today, there were like 3 gyoza int he pan, a couple of tempura veggies and only the veggie roll plat was filled. It was virtually empty at the sushi bar. What the hell? Isn’t that why I’m here? I was disappointed… don’t they know I only have an hour for lunch?! I can’t wait 20 minutes for them to make 1 plate of sushi at a time. For $ 15 bucks I expect food! At least put more fried rice or lo mein in the pan! But not even about the quantity, the quality of the food was bland. String beans were extra crunchy, definitely not done. Fried rice needed flavor, fried tofu was actually decent, veggie tempura was fine when there was some and the beef and veggies weren’t bad but the beef was a little chewy. Sushi was bad, ingredients didn’t seem fresh to me. Service is also slow, I asked for water and it took her almost 15 minutes just for 2 people. Seems like a waste of $ 15 bucks to me. Need to find a real sushi place in Reston!

The service is excellent. The sushi chef has a great smile and loves to talk about sushi. I’ve had the sushi deluxe there twice. Everything was fresh tasting and good. The green tea is delicious. A friend tried some of the rolls and they were also very good.

Came here by chance with a sushi craving. Didn’t know sushi could reach these lows. Everything about this place is disappointing, but especially the very low quality of the fish. The salad was terrible lettuce with too much dressing. The miso soup tasted like salt soup. The gyoza was overlooked and over salted. The sushi was barely edible. And it was all overpriced! Should have checked Unilocal before entering.

My friend picked this spot for her birthday dinner. I was worried based on the reciews, but we had a great experience. The service was great. The waitress checked in on us frequently and our drinks were always filled. However, they were basically empty and it was close to 8:00 on a week night. We shared dumplings and several sushi rolls. While this wasn’t my favorite sushi by far, it did hit the spot. The dumplings were very delish, but the sauce serves with them was a tad odd. Everything tasted fresh, not fishy. 6 rolls and 5 ladies… we left no bite behind! The waitress was sweet and brought a giant gree tea ice cream Sunday out for the birthday girl. I most likely wouldn’t seek this place our again, but if I was in the area it would be a place to have a decent experience.

Came here following a quick visit to Reston Town Center and was immediately disappointed. While the décor is nice and the second floor is a novelty, the prices led me to believe people pay for this because they think sushi is either trendy here or good. I say neither. Ordered some rolls and immediately was left questioning the quality of the fish. The spicy tuna roll was brown on the inside which tells me the fish was old. The excessive spiciness only served to confirm that assumption. The same happened with other rolls — too much seasoning and sauces as if they were hiding something. When the bill came out, that just made things worse. Way overpriced compared to other sushi houses in the area. At least when I pay a little more at Tachibana in Mclean, I know I’m getting something good. Here, I just left with an old fish taste in my mouth. Not going back.

This place is quite swanky and I hear it’s great for lunch… The layout is great and very soothing and open… they even have an upstairs area for a private dinner experience. I find that the atmosphere is more elevated than the sushi and Sashimi options and thus, the pricing is a bit high for what it is. That may be the cost of doing business in town center however, so I don’t really hold it against them, it wasn’t outrageous just not the best price for the same quality of sushi you can find in the area. For a glass of wine, a soup or app, and a specialty roll, be prepared to spend $ 35 – 40 after tip. The spirits were good for the type of restaurant, solid options for wine and beer drinkers, but then a really impressive and extensive list of sake. The food is done well, and I wish I had come more hungry, to try a larger plate or platter. Flavors aside, the specialty rolls and the menu overall seems to cater to non-adventurous; non-spicy eating sushi/sashimi enthusiasts and the wasabi was very mild. Their miso soups boasted salmon balls and shiitake mushrooms and was delicious! The Hawaiian Volcano Roll was tasty and a lot of fun, beautiful plating.

Nice looking restaurant with experienced professional staff. I wasn’t quite sure why the restaurant had a large screen TV in the bar, but let it go(it just seemed out of place for a nice restaurant). My main issue was the menu. Most everything I expected was there, but I was bolted by sticker shock! The prices were/are insane for what you receive. Plus, the sushi and other foods were only mediocre in taste. Sorry guys, it just wasn’t worth the experience.

Don’t do it. The miso soup tasted like dirty dish water. The sushi wasn’t the best and was poorly assembled. My mother was given a dirty water glass. This food is definitely overpriced for its quality.

I’m giving this place 3 stars because the service was good however the Vegas roll was awful. It was covered in the tempura shavings so much and it looked broiled so the tempura was burnt. I had the scrap off the tempura shavings before I could even see the actual fish. I was only able to pick at the food. I pride myself on not being a really picky person but this Vegas roll was not something I would recommend to anyone. I also got a plain cucumber roll to try to see what came out for basic rolls. It was better. I would try this place again but be very cautious of any rolls that have tempura on them.

The amount of Sushi at the price you get it is unlike any place I’ve been at. All you can eat lunch buffet Mon — Fri.

This place was overly expensive. Although the sushi tasted fine, it was just ridiculously expensive compared to all the other sushi spots I’ve been to. There really wasn’t anything special to make it worth the price being paid. My sister got the Oyakodon and she said it was«2-Star worthy». It lacked seasoning. Although the vegetable tempura wasn’t too bad, it was pretty overpriced as well. It was crispy but the vegetables on the inside were barely cooked. It was roughly $ 17 for a Spicy Salmon Roll & a Tiger Roll(only 5 pieces). Their Kitsune Udon was about $ 15. It wasn’t anything special and I’ve definitely had better. It was basically a broth with some stuff thrown in. It was lacking seasoning and flavor as well. I don’t think I’ve ever tasted udon that was so plain and lacking. It was sad and a complete waste of my money. The only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 star is because the salmon in the Spicy Salmon roll was actually decent. But the roll had too much rice. And also the shrimp in my Tiger Roll wasn’t bad either. There are definitely better places to eat in Reston Town Center that are more worth the price you’re paying. I’m usually not this tough with my reviews, but this place made me so upset. I don’t mind spending a little extra money on sushi as long as it’s worth it. And this place… *sigh*. I will never go back.

If you want a quiet place to eat and enjoy sushi in the Reston Town Center, this is the place to go. My fiancé and I had dinner there tonight. The service was quick and food was decent. My mango mojito was just alright. I wish they had more options for sushi.

I came across this sushi bar when I was looking for a place for lunch. They had enticing offer for lunch buffet: all you can eat for $ 13.95+tax from 11:30 to 2pm. Which is a steal for Reston Town Center. The hostess/waitress was very friendly, got me seated right away and asked if I’d like something to drink. She would check on me regularly if I’m doing ok. The food selection was good. Several options in salads, fried rice, noodles and a few meat/seafood options to start with. Then great selection of rolls and sushi regularly refiled(I could see a chef coming and adding more items as they were getting consumed by the customers). And two options in desserts to have the appropriate ending for the meal, this time those where tempura bananas and fresh(really fresh!) fruit salad. Everything I tried was of a good quality and really tasty! :) I really liked the ambience, bright, yet cosy. Big windows and high ceilings create the open, airy environment. Nice soft music adds a great touch. Being excited about the place I decided to write this review and was surprised the average rating of the place was 2.5÷5 stars. I’m giving 5 stars to this place that are well deserved and definitely going to be back soon!

Okay, this place is clean, bright and has nice service. The lunch buffet is $ 13.99 and includes miso soup(ask your server), salad, noodles, veggies, beef, veggies tempura and of course sushi. There is a wide range of rolls and then nigiri. The rolls range from regular to tempura fried with sauce on top ones. I found them yummy and filling. The nigiri are salmon, tuna, shrimp, and yellowtail. Surprisingly they don’t make giant rice balls for the nigiri. I saw this place is on the up and up. It’s not top of the line sushi, but it is filling with good service in a clean restaurant. Three plates for me!!!

How do you say expensive in Japanese? I paid $ 8.50 for a California roll. This simple maki roll, found at nearly every sushi establishment in the country, is cut into 8 small pieces. That makes each piece(or each bite, if you will) more than $ 1 per. Ouch. I had a couple of other things, nothing fantastic. It’s the California roll that sticks out in my mind. Efficient service, typical interior design for this kind of spot. The sushi was fresh, I’ll give Obi that, but overpriced.

Been here a couple times. Not the best sushi I’ve had, but not bad. It is pretty mediocre. The sushi rice doesn’t have the best consistency in my opinion. The rolls seem to be sloppily made — maybe it’s not on purpose and the chef isn’t the best sushi roller, but I have seen better. We got a couple rolls. The yellowtail was very good. We had a shrimp roll that tasted a bit too fishy. The spicy tuna was good, although spicy tuna everywhere taste the same to me. Their tuna and salmon sashimi was good and tasted fresh. Their starter tempura was excellent. The soft shell crab was a bit too fried. Overall restaurant is clean and has a nice environment. Don’t come in with hight expectations. However if you want sushi, this will certainly hit the spot.

Awful, awful. I should have heeded the warnings on Unilocal and its overall 2.5-star rating. But alas, I decided to visit anyway and order a soup instead of the sushi, since the ratings for the sushi were so bad and I did not want to get food poisoning. Even the soup was bad, however, and the overall experience was pretty awful. I arrived at 11:30am and had to wait an additional 5 minutes outside, even though they advertise themselves as opening at 11:30am. Several other people were waiting outside with me. One party was entirely dissuaded and left to go somewhere else for lunch. Finally, at 11:35, I decided to call them(their number is listed on Unilocal) and ask whether they were open. The lady on the phone was extremely rude and said«YESWEAREOPEN!» and came outside and said«SEE? OPEN!»… but the door had been locked… so OK? She was so rude that I was afraid she would be my waitress. She thankfully wasn’t. My waitress was moderately nicer, but very incompetent. Instead of bringing me the lunch menu, she brought me the wine menu… Sorry, but I won’t be drinking alcohol at 11:30am on a weekday. I asked for the lunch menu and she gave me a very surly look before giving me the correct menu. I ordered the Kitsune Udon(wide noodles topped with seasoned fried tofu and spinach in light broth garnished with boiled egg, dry seaweed, scallion, and fish cake), which was a filling soup and it was decent, though they skimped on the ingredients in the soup. It was mostly just broth. The fact that the food was edible enough is the only thing saving this review from 1 star instead of 2. Needless to say, I will never visit this place again, and I caution you against doing so as well.
