I’ve ordered delivery from this Olive Express a couple times and found it flavorless and soggy. Most recently, I ordered the fattoush salad, which is supposed to have mint leaves and ras al hanout spice, and a dressing made with lemon juice, pomegranate molasses, and garlic. NONE of these flavors were present in the salad, and the pita chips were soggy. It was a salty, soggy lettuce-fest with visible but unflavorful sumac sprinkled on everything. Previously, I’ve ordered their tabbouleh salad, and it’s not as good as other Olive Express locations’. One last nitpick: they’re consistently out of stock on Sobe Lifewater and Fuze and substitute soda instead.

My coworkers and I love this place. The prices are fantastic, the food is fresh and delicious, and they deliver(quickly!) I love the Greek salad and the falafel is also great.

Went for the first time today. For being a «Mediterranean» café, I was pretty disappointed in the lack of true Mediterranean fare. The food was okay, good enough in a pinch when I don’t have time to drive somewhere else for lunch away from the office. The salads looked fresh although I did not order one. Biggest criticism, I smell like fryer oil after being there for 10 minutes.

Really like this place — had the BLT Croissant & coffee for breakfast(they serve Starbucks)! One thing I really liked is they carried TRUVIA as a sweetener, which you don’t see too often. Definitely recommended!

This is hands down the worst kebab joint I’ve ever been to. We ordered online, waited over an hour for the food, and when it finally arrived, what a disappointment. At first sight the mixed grill kebab was not appetizing at all, and the actual taste matched the first impression! The beef kebab was burnt on the outside, chewy, dry and uncooked on the inside. The spices in the lamb kebab were overpowering and unbalanced, the chicken had a white creamy sauce which was equally bad, and so thick it oozes into the rice killing the taste. The beans were extremely bland and the salad at least, was alright, although sparing. About the only thing that tasted decent was the falafel appetizer, without which we would have gone hungry. When we called to check on our order after the wait exceeded an hour, we were simply told, «it’s on it’s way» with no estimated time of arrival or apologies despite the promise to arrive within the hour. At least the price is right, but honestly, that is the only good thing about this place. Avoid at all costs!(at least for delivery)

Literally(yes, I know this word’s correct usage) the worst gyro I’ve ever had in my life. A couple friends and I are working remotely together so we ordered baba ganoush and gyro platters(with a drink, a side salad, and a choice of fries or chips) for delivery. The food arrived freaky fast – awesome! But that was the only positive aspect of our meal. The baba ganoush was seriously disgusting… WHY was it extremely sour? Whether it was by design or because it had spoiled, I would not even consider donating their baba ganoush to a malnourished homeless person. Straight to the trash that went. The fries were alright. I didn’t touch my side salad because it wasn’t appealing to me. I managed to stomach half my sorry excuse for a gyro before I decided to just cut my losses and accept the sunk cost that was this meal. The gyro meat consisted of thin slices of what seemed to be canned, flavorless mystery meat… To top it off, it was cold, even though it was delivered fast… huh? UGH. So freaking gross, though I guess you could view it as a good thing that the portion of meat was so sparse. I can’t even put into words how utterly disappointed I am in this meal. I feel like I threw ~$ 13 away(our order total was $ 40). I have so much pity in my heart for those who find enjoyment in frequenting this establishment. MAYBE it was an off day or the other dishes are way better? I honestly wouldn’t even risk eating here again. If this sounds like a scathing review, maybe it’s because I’m so hangry. Time to go scavenge the fridge for leftovers.

I’m a person who loves Middle Eastern food and prides myself on being quite picky with what I like and don’t like. In fact, a few years ago I traveled to the Middle East and sampled a wide variety of excellent food there, giving me an idea of what the natives think is good, which is usually the best in any particular genre. I can say that the food at Olive Express is just as good as anything that I sampled there. The beef shawarma platter was incredible, featuring a wide variety of excellent flavors that reminded me of how things are supposed to taste. I recommend that anyone who enjoys Middle Eastern food try Olive Express. You won’t regret it.

I haven’t had many good experiences at deli’s that serve office buildings. Olive Express was quite the exception. My wife had gotten a groupon, so I went and got lunch for myself as well as dinner for later. The place is easy to find, surprisingly clean and bright, and the staff was very friendly. But most importantly, the food was very good. I went with a gyro for lunch between the well marinated meat and just the right touch of sauce, plus a nice little salad on the side, it was a great meal. For dinner both the chicken shawarma platter and sandwich were delicious. I especially liked the olive oil garlic sauce that came with my platter– it really added a great flavor. Overall great food.

Not sure why such high reviews. It must be because its the only place within walking distance of certain business in this area. I went today for lunch and was less than impressed. I ordered the gyro platter and it was just okay. The gyro meat appeared to be microwaved or steamed, not cut from a spit. The pita bread was soft and warm, but its pita bread. Kind of hard to mess that up. The salad left more to be desired. It was just lettuce, a few sprinkled tomatoes and feta that was kind of purple. I just wasn’t impressed, especially for the price… ESPECIALLY when Reston Kabob is right down the street and SOOOOOOOOO much better! Will I be coming back? Maybe if I’m desperate and run out of Hot Pockets at the office.

The food was good, a little cold but what shocked me was I found a metal shaving in my food. How this got in there mystifies me. I looked through the rest of it and it looked ok but c’mon a metal shaving. What’s going on in the kitchen there?

I’m not sure what the hell is wrong with you guys, but this place sucked. I hope for your sake that it just started sucking as of today, otherwise, get your taste buds checked. I went today, after 30 days of fasting for what I was hoping to be a great meal that was so bad, I forced some down the hatch and the rest down the garbage. I rarely toss food, and if I had a dog, I would have doggy bagged it. No, scratch that, dogs deserve better. I ordered the kabob mixed grill platter with egg plant. I expected bread but there was none so I couldn’t really enjoy the eggplant. The chicken piece looked and tasted like tofu. Horrible. The steak piece was too grizzly and overcooked. The ground up one was inedible. The rice was more Spanish that it was middle eastern or Mediterranean. Also, none of the meat tasted grilled, more like baked or microwaved… I double there is an open flame in the office building. This was my second and last visit. The first one I had the chicken shwarma sandwich and it was mediocre at best. My coworker said it sucked and he hasn’t been back… I kept telling him he couldn’t judge it on one visit, but now I wish I had listened to him.

I work in the Commerce Park Corporate Center in Reston, and a few months ago I fell into the Olives Café. Provided below are my impressions of what I consider to be one of the best little Café’s I have ever had the pleasure of eating!!! 1. Service: Excellent Service with a very hands on Owner. The cashiers and the ladies that make the food are so polite and accommodating; its incredible. 2. Quality of Food: I have eaten the kabobs, the salads, the breakfast sandwiches and everything is fresh, contains wonderful flavors, the wheat bread and the FRENCHFRIES are so good you want to TELLTHEWORLD, the quality of the different Kabob meats are always incredibly flavorful and unique, and the staff is always willing to help you find a combination of choices to make an incredible breakfast or lunch experience!!! 3. Price/Cost: The breakfast is so reasonably priced I wonder how the owner actually makes money, and the options that she is willing to tailor to your needs means that you might never run out of breakfast choices. The lunch prices are reasonable for this area and definitely for the amount of food you receive for your payment. I have always made an effort to try new places for breakfast and lunch, but due to my work schedule it is not always practical. Olives will deliver in the Corporate Park and I believe that they have a particular radius that they will deliver in the area(check with them) as well. This is a great service for people who are busy and just adds to the obvious commitment of the owner and her staff to 110% customer satisfaction. Olives will always receive my highest possible rating because this café provides what is really needed, high quality food which flavorful and consistently excellent, their obvious commitment to their customers, the combinations and flexibility of the staff and the costs to consume. I have never had a bad experience only really positive one’s in the 20+ times I have eaten in the Olives Café. In fact I was so impressed by this café that I told everyone in my office and now our company orders corporate lunches and most of my co-workers frequent Olives Café!!!

This little place is very convenient to my office. I always order the chicken schwarma platter. The chicken is moist and tasty, and it comes with hummus, rice, pita, a little greek salad, and the wonderful garlic sauce. I love it! The baklava is a tasty splurge when they have it. The personnel are always friendly. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because of the smell — you end up smelling like fryer oil a bit even if you call your order in ahead of time and pick it up :(

This place is pretty good– especially for a restaurant inside a corporate office building. I was enticed to come here thanks to a Specialicious deal $ 10 for $ 20 worth of food. Food is already decently priced and if I worked in the building, I’m sure I’d be back. But since the hours are very limited on weekdays only, this probably wont be able to be a frequent go– to option for me. They mixed up my order a little but once I explained I wanted grape leaves they threw those into my take out without additional cost. Very nice of them! I’m very glad I asked for them because they were soo good! If I came back for anything, it would be for these. Also for the $ 20, I managed to get a greek salad, some pita triangles, a mixed grill kabob with rice and veggies, AND a lamb gyro platter. Wow, I felt like a pig walking away with so much food! Rice, cucumber sauce, and the vinegary roasted veggies weren’t excellent and left something to be desired but the meat and grape leaves really hit the mark.

Once a week or so, we will order form Olive Express for lunch at work. It’s one of the highlights of my week. The food is plentiful, flavorful, and affordable. I’m partial to the chicken schwarma pita — the garlic sauce they put in it is PERFECTION. The salad is also very tasty, fresh, and light and their cucumber sauce it’s good too. I’ve had better cucumber sauce elsewhere, but as a whole it didn’t make or break the meal. I’ve heard their hummus is pretty delicious too and all their platters seem to be a great hit every time we order from here. I’d definitely come back here and recommend it to others. Pricewise and tastewise, you can’t go wrong.

Great hole in the wall for excellent Mediterranean food; but you’ll need the address or you’ll never find the place. The quality and flavor of our meal was better than any other Mediterranean restaurant I’ve tried locally. But don’t come for the décor; it looks like a cafeteria. We had the combo shawarma plate with eggplant and chickpeas. Heavenly. And we topped it off with the most delicate baklava I’ve had in years. And they deliver(with a $ 5 savings card).

I wanted sooo bad to like this place a lot since I like kabobs so much and the owner was soo nice. The food here was pretty good, but the lack of good sauce kills it for me. When I have kabobs I need the standard issue white sauce at least, and extreme bonus points for having a decent green/brown sauce. I will say this place definitely had a good value going on. I had the combo kabob which had beef cubes, kubideh(i think), and chicken. All the meats tasted good and the price was right… But I neeed the sauce. The chicken came with a curry sauce on top that was okay, but not really my thing when I think of Kabobs(or curry for that matter). Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad, it was pretty good, but it just isn’t what I was expecting on my chicken kabob. I would have prefered some yogurt sauce or something. The shining star of the meal was the eggplant side dish. The owner recommended it and she nailed this one. It was sooo good. If I return here I will definitely be ordering it again. The place had a good crowd and plenty of seating, so it looks like they have a lot of regulars, which means they are obviously doing something right. If they had a couple containers of white and/or green/kabob sauce sitting out, I would definitely be coming back more often! Thanks! Thanks Yvonne for letting me know about the yogurt sauce! I didn’t know. In that case, I’ll be back! :)
