PetMAC

I love this place! This is a small mom and pop shop that has all the essentials for your pet. They carry many natural and unique products that you wont find at a PetSmart and Petco. The ladies that work here are super friendly and knowledgeable, they will answer all of your questions, unlike the large chains, where much of the time, the employees are completely clueless. Check it out and support your local business!

This is a small store, but they have a variety of high-​quality pet supplies and gifts. They also host pet adoption events and offer their space to a dog trainer for their classes. They know what works and doesn’t for your particular type of pet.
They are a boost to Lake Anne as a whole, supplying dog treats to the surrounding businesses to hand out, and send wonderful, making Lake Anne a dog-​friendly place. It’s amazing to watch such community builders in action.

The location I visited was in Reston and it’s run by the owner Cindy. The store is stuffed full of great merchandize and lots of unusual items. Cindy and her team are committed to helping you choose the right high quality food for your dog or cat. Well worth it to stop in and take a look around!

PetMAC has two locations, one out in Arlington, and one out in DC; however, the Arlington location is being closed, and they have taken the space that was the former The Cupcake Ladi in the Lake Anne Village Center. They are planning on opening in mid-​December, so keep that in mind! PetMAC has always been one of my favorites, as they have a great selection of higher-​end & all-​natural lines of pet food, a variety of pet toys, and they also have great speakers/​events that are held throughout the year for your furry friends (like Halloween and Christmas parties: P In addition, if your pet suffers from allergies and/​or behavioral problems, the staff at PetMAC can help you out in terms of food/​supplement recommendations. Another great thing about PetMAC is that they have great relations with local rescue organizations in re-​homing pups and cats. If you sign up for their emailing list, you are alerted of adoption events on the weekends. Reston-​ites, you guys are lucky!
