Worst sausages I can recall eating. Ever have a bbq and forget a couple sausages on the grill, only to find them hours later; little black wrinkled and dried out cylinders. That’s what bratwurst king sold us today at old ox brewery. I can’t believe they sold it to us and I can’t believe I paid for them. Should have known when I ordered and the sausages were immediately plated. Definitely not cooked to order and we were the only ones in line. They looked like they were probably sitting on the griddle all morning. That being said, the potato salad was really good and the red cabbage was pretty good. Wish they would have given us more of those and ate the sausages themselves. I’m sorry for the 1 star, but the king needs to know if he serves up that burnt garbage he deserves it.

Tried the Bratwurst King for the first time today. I was very skeptical, expected to see non Germans serving fake German food. Was I surprised. The guy in the truck spoke German back to me. Of course I won’t hold it against him that he’s from Austria and I’m from Rhineland-Pfalz. I ordered the Schnitzel platter, with rotkraut and kartoffelsalat. Wunderbar! The potato salad was right on, just the right amount of vinegar. The chef brought out a sample of his sauerkraut for me to try, it was made just like I’m used to with juniper berries, onions and pork. Everything tasted just like home. I would definitely recommend the Bratwurst King. In fact, if they come back to our office, I will visit them again. Hopefully he’ll open a brick and mortar place, this area could use an authentic German/Austrian restaurant.

Simply Amazing. A happy discovery for me at Wiehle. Absolutely worth stalking the tweets for their next location — but please hurry back to Reston!

I’m always happy when I see this truck. I lived in Germany when I was a kid, and this currywurst is the best I’ve had outside Germany. Just like Walter’s Imbiss in Wiesbaden. Schmeckt Gut! The prices look steep for a food truck, but you get a lot with the platters(potato salad, sauerkraut, etc.). I’ve tried the wurst trifecta, the wienerschnitzel, and the currywurst … and I can’t find anything bad to say about them. If you like German food, you’ll like this.

I love the Bratwurst King! Great brats of different varieties. The sauerkraut is better than you can get anywhere! Love the pretzel buns too. Complaint? He doesn’t park in front of my house! Try it, you will love it!

Rumor has it, that The Bratwurst King will be reopening soon. Please get out of the way, I want to be first in line. This is the real deal at a very reasonable price!

The Bratwurst King(more like the Bratwurst Jester…), came to our work place today. I ordered the currywurst. First the good. The pretzel roll was excellent, but the thanks for that goes to wegmen’s which is where they are purchased from guessing from the large wegmens box he was puling them out of. Next the potato salad. Also looked like it was straight off the shelf from wegmens, but unfortunately, it just sitting on the counter of the truck. No ice bath or anything. I hope the people who order from this guy later in the lunch hour don’t get sick from eating spoiled mayo based potato salad. The red cabbage was decent. Now onto the currwurst. It should be a bratwurst cut up with a curry sauce poured over the top of the cut up pieces. Unfortunately i was severed a curry-furter. I got cut up frankfurter(aka hotdog) and not cut up bratwurst. The pictures on the side of the truck showed a wurst used in this dish as do the pictures on the online site. I wish the bad ended there. The curry sauce came out of the microwave was was WAY to sweet — it was downright gross! I am going to assume it was also store bought and straight from a can/glass container… Then it was sprinkled with run of the mill cheap grocery store McCormick curry powder. Over all I was very disappointed! It you want good wurst and other great german street food, consider Doner(Doener) Bistro in Leesburg! Its great and they don’t cheap out or mis-represent anything! They actually server home cooked delicious food. As for«The King», buyer beware!

The name«Bratwurst King» doesn’t do them justice… they are so much more than that. I never thought I’d hear myself say that the best weinerschnitzel I had came from a food truck, but it’s true. Very generous with the sides too – the pretzel roll, red cabbage, and potato salad are all very authentic.

Saw food truck nearby. Had to check out menu before getting on long line. Had the wienerschniztel platter and it was awesome. Imagine a crunchier than panko crusted pork chop that was cooked perfectly. Along with the platter came a tasty German potato salad(really good), an overly sweet and soggy red cabbage, and a chewy pretzel roll. There were sauces available such as spicy mustard, a creamy mustard, and a horseradish mayo. All were good, but I especially liked the kick from the spicy mustard. Not sure if I will ever try the sausage options, but next time, will definitely double up on potato salad instead of red cabbage. Wasn’t my first rodeo with German food, so I know good when I taste it. Only thing missing was a cold German brew. Cost: $ 9

The company in the building next door called in The Bratwurst King to give their employees more lunch options, and asked our building manager to spread the word. I got an e-mail and scrolled down to see a food truck was at my office today, offering German sausages and schnitzel. How could I resist? Overall, pretty good … maybe just a tad expensive for the amount/value, but $ 9 is common for lunch in Reston unless you are eating fast food. I got the sausage trifecta, which were three small(but tasty) german sausages, with Austrian potato salad and red cabbage. Potato salad was excellent, red cabbage was a tad too sweet for my liking. Pretzel roll was good. And they had German-style curry ketchup as a condiment, which made me happy. I’ll try the schnitzel next time, as it looked great and a bit of a better value for the money. But I am glad to see this food truck near my office, and happily welcome its return.

THISWASTHEWURSTFOOD I HAVEEVERHAD Would be my review if it was terrible. But it was good. I dont know why I was excited. Because I was visiting a food truck I’d never heard of, or that I had self-pride for intentionally getting sauerkraut. The bratwurst platter($ 9), which seemed like the staple item on the menu, was delicious. Everything tastes fresh and quality, which really exceeds expectations for many trucks out there. The meat was far better than any prepackaged brat you’ve had. My one note was that the casings were very thin. I’m used to a thick snap on my brats, but this didn’t have that. I’m assuming this is the authentic way of making sausage, and it’s far from a dealbreaker — just different. The homemade potato salad(did I detect hints of bacon?) was delicious as well. It just tasted so fresh and didn’t have that gross nearly-all-mayo dressing that accompanies many potato salads out there. And the kraut was kraut. It was good. My sauerkraut pallet isn’t refined enough to know when I’m eating good kraut, so I’ll leave it at that. Possibly the most delightfully surprising item was the pretzel roll. The inside was soft and warm and the outside had just enough of that leathery tug to it to make you feel like a man. I know this truck is usually in the Reston area, but don’t be a stranger to the 17th and M crossroads for lunch :)

I made my way back for schnitzel. It did not disappoint, potato salad and red cabbage were again amazing. AND I’m glad to say that the pretzel roll today were not crumbly, but chewy! The schnitzel was fried crispy and almost the size of a frisbee. The $ 9 is well worth it considering what you typically get from most food trucks.

This truck also comes to Tysons. I had the bratwurst and sauerkraut platter and it was amazing! I would highly recommend trying this guy!

When I asked The Bratwurst King which wurst was his favorite, he told me «They are all good. I only sell what I love.» The King is putting a lot of love into his food and it shows. The Debreziner sausage is made with lots of spices and packs a lot of flavor into a medium-sized casing. His potato salad is special — the potatoes are perfectly cooked and the creamy sauce is slightly sweet, tangy, and herbaceous all at the same time. I’d recommend the red cabbage if you like it sweet. A soft, delicious pretzel roll comes with the meal and ties everything together. There’s a condiment station offering good-quality mustard, currywurst-style ketchup, Tabasco sauce and more. It is a bit pricey, but where else are you going to get authentic food like this on wheels? I’d rather pay a few extra bucks than drive all the way out to Herndon or Leesburg for the real deal.

I never see food trucks near where I work and live(Reston) so when I found out about this guy I had to give it a try. My co-workers and I tried the bratwurst and currywurst with mixed reviews. The brat was good, as was the currywurst however one complaint was that it was not saucy enough. One person did not like the red cabbage, but the sauerkraut and potato salad both got high marks. One thing we all agreed on: the kaiser roll was pretty dry and not really edible unless you gave it a good pre-soak first. Again, this is where some extra sauce on the currywurst would have come in handy. The guy running the truck was super nice and greeted me with a friendly heckle when I took his picture«without permission.» $ 9 is about average for lunch in this area and I enjoyed trying something different.

Was not impressed with the food, I had heard this guy was involved with Euro Bistro so I expected some very tasty German food. What I got was a overpriced bratwurst on a common hot dog bun. The potato salad was just average. I would have given this 3 stars as the food isn’t bad but it is way overpriced. Especially for a food truck. I went with a co-worker and he agreed that it was overpriced. If you are craving a good brat I suggest either EuroBistro or The Weiner circle.

We were so excited when this popped up on our food truck finder app… after years of living in Germany one thing we really miss is the Imbiss(snack truck). We drove from Prince William County to Fairfax City just to give it a try. Sad to say it was a disappointment. The website looks great, the photos made us salivate. Unfortunately they were misleading. All the photos on the website as well as the ones on the menu board show the meat being served with a brotchen(German hard roll) but our bratwurst was on a common hot dog bun and the schnitzel sandwich was served on a hamburger bun. The sides shown on the menu board were also not available(i.e. the schnitzel is shown with a potato pancake). The bratwurst had good flavor and was well cooked. However the schnitzel was under seasoned(and just as a personal preference) I prefer a finer bread crumb on schnitzel but they used panko which is fairly common these days. All of this is fixable… I believe a real quality imbiss could be huge, and I hope Bratwurst King goes there.
