This is by far my favorite restaurant. Don’t eat anything beforehand because by the end of the day, you’ll be stuffed. The cheese and chocolate dishes are equally amazing, and the selection is great so that everyone can get what they want. It’s also fun to cook things on your own. It doesn’t take too long to cook each item, and the waiter will help you with times. If you join their club/membership plan, you can get discounts like a free dessert on Girls Night Out. The only challenge is deciding on one base for the whole group, so if there’s something you’ve been eyeing for a while, invite someone who’s willing to get what you want.

I honestly do not know how my friend Shazia had never been to any Melting Pot restaurant but I was ready to change that very soon. While visiting Virginia a few weeks ago, the weather was bad but thank god the snowzilla 2016 did not occur the weekend I visited. It was raining and freezing outside. We decided to get some drinks and dessert late evening(9:30). Usually it’s a good idea to come earlier and enjoy a two-three course decent meal at the Melting Pot. However, appetizers and desserts are not a bad idea either. My friend loved their chocolate dessert options. We went with my personal favorite yin yang dessert, which consists of dark and white chocolate. In dipping assortment, they bring a nice plate of cake bites, brownie and fruits such as bananas, pineapples, strawberries. I drank their blackberry siege lemonade which was not too sweet and had a good flavor to it. Overall, M.P. is a great option for girls night, date night or family gathering etc. ~

Fun for a rare special occasion. Reservations pretty much required in this location. Free parking around back is closest.

We had a wonderful experience at The Melting Pot in Reston! I came with my eleven year old son who had to write a restaurant review for an English assignment. He had a great time with the interactive experience and we loved the food! We were especially impressed with the service! Camille was a fantastic server who took special care to address food allergies by bringing alternate dipping items and clarifying menu options for us.

Our server Luis was by far one of the best waiters I’ve had for a long time! He really took the time to explain the menu and all the options. It was my first time going, group of 12 for my birthday and I was really impressed. I was already aware that it is expensive, so please don’t be under any illusions, it’s pricey, the set menu’s are $ 37-$ 50 per person! So definitely just a one off treat for us rather than a weekly meal. The food is amazing though, tastes great, we went off Luis favorites and were not disappointed! Facilities and restaurant itself was clean and modern. Overall I loved it; can’t wait to go again!

We come here for our sons birthday. He loves us to bring him to melting pot instead of throwing him a birthday party. As usual we have a great experience. This time it was different. It was beyond great. Fraiser was our waiter and he went above and beyond. We were initially a party of 10 but 5 cancelled on our sons birthday. Fraiser not only was he attentive to our table but he also came at the end with goodies for my son and his siblings. And ofcourse with dessert a candle and Happy birthday written on the plate. Thank you again Fraiser.

Haven’t been to the melting pot in a couple years. Went to the Reston restaurant tonight. Was super fun! Service and food was great! Much nicer than the Arlington location. I’d go back!

So I’ve been to The Melting Pot before in other locations and I’ve never had service this good! Justin was amazing! I went here with a friend for drinks. We ended up having appetizers and dessert fondue. It was great! Justin’s recommendations were totally on point! If you go here, ask for Justin and he will take care of you!

I was here Fri night watching the World Series. I decided to eat at the bar so that I can watch the game. The bartender was extremely busy and he had difficult time making drinks and while making the fondue happen. I think he said their is only 1 burner at the bar? very weird. I always have great experience here and I’ll continue to come every month.

Melting Pot is located in Plaza America off of Reston Parkway. It’s located on the first floor of an office building next to a Sushi Restaurant. I’ve been here once for Restaurant week, which for $ 35 wasn’t too bad but I’m not sure if I’d go back just for normal dining. It is a unique experience where you have to cook the food yourself but it’s not as fun as like Honey Pig or Hot Spot where you cook it yourself. The food is okay, not memorable but the experience is fun. I do however, will say the desserts are delicious. They give you a tray of different sweets like brownies, marshmallows, fruits etc to dip in a menu of different fondues. I don’t think I’d come back unless it’s for Restaurant Week where it’s cheaper. I do however have came a few times only for Happy Hour at the bar. They have wine and beer specials and food specials, I think like 30% off. The food portion is a select few, like flatbread, sliders or honey brie cheese with crackers. They also offer dessert fondue for about $ 9 and they do the fondue right there at the bar. I just stick to the bar area for happy hour, I enjoy it over there. Perfect for special occasions because it’s very intimate, lights are dimmed and the seats are separate so you feel like you are just doing a one on one kind of thing. Just be ready to spend the money!

Always a fun time when we go to The Melting Pot. This time we used the living social deal so we got the cheese, salads, and main course for $ 35. Will write more on our next trip as this review is to thank TMP for this deal!

We came here for my son’s birthday dinner last week. My husband and I had been to Melting Pot in Reston several years ago and I guess they were in a different location. The current location is larger but more industrial-looking. The old location looked more old-world. They have also changed some of their concepts, where they used to have a «couple’s price,» they now charge everyone individually. This is good and bad. The«couple’s price» was more of a bargain, but now you can choose which«experience» you would like and everyone can get something different. Each individual four-course dinner costs $ 38 and up, depending on what you want. I got filet mignon, shrimp and chicken. The four courses include your choice of salad, your choice of a cheese dip with bread and veggies, your main course and then the dessert course. They also provide you with some yummy dipping sauces, like Green Goddess and bleu cheese. The salad was average. The cheddar cheese dip was very good and we all enjoyed the fresh bread for dipping. The meat/fish course was kind of complicated for the four of us, to be honest! I jokingly told the waiter maybe they should post a small menu board at the table so you can remember how many minutes each item should cook! With so much going on, it was a bit of a circus with all of us trying to remember when they added their piece of shrimp… no wait that’s my steak, when did I put my chicken in? No time for conversation, I have to check my watch so I don’t overcook my item! Haha, it was pretty funny when you think about it. I was exhausted by the end of it. Thank god for the dessert, which revived me and was fun and delicious. Next time I might just go straight for dessert! We ordered the S’mores Flambé(to be honest, just wanted to see the flambé). It was really excellent. Lots of nice goodies for dipping, like strawberries, pound cake, rice krispies, marshmallows, etc. Our server was great, took his time explaining everything and was very attentive. I hope to come back but think I will seriously just come for dessert. The best part!

**skip to bottom for how the whole pricess/experience works, top part is food/restaurant review** This was my first fondue experience and I would have liked to know how it works. Now, on to the review: We got the alpine and Fiesta cheese. Fiesta is okay. Alpine isn’t too great. With grapes, it tastes a little like I would imagine ‘eating farts’ tastes like. A friend ordered a sassy señorita(mixed drink) and said it didnt not have the alcohol content to justify the price. The atmosphere is ‘blah’ — it would be better for a more intimate experience with someone whose company you know already that you enjoy. We got Coq au Vin and MOJO cooking sauce. CAV smells like lime Ramen noodles. MOJO smells smells like vegetable boulieon. 3rd course foods: suprisingly the crusts on the meats don’t fall off on the pots. The teriyaki steak has real flavor. The duck does as well and is very tender(with a fairly strong nutmegy undertaste). The rest of the meat was generally flavorless and still flavorless after cooking in the broth(bummer). CCV was very good with the fillet minon. You get more than enough meat than you’ll ever need. Dessert is fantastic! And they give ‘free refils’ any of the dessert items for dipping! Overall: a $ 12 meal with a $ 40 experience. That said, the wait staff really work for their tips/make the whole experience. They’re knowledgeable and helpful when making. ___________________________ **how it works** Assuming you decide to get all the courses: 1. You pick a salad. That comes. Eat it. 2. You pick a cheese and get breads, grapes & strawberries, chips, carrots, celery & tomatoes to dip in it.(Each person gets 2 color coded skewers). 3rd(main) course: you will have picked a(more or less) simmer sauce(boiling pot of broth in your choice of flavor) and you will have picked your selection of meat. You skewer your meat and put it in the broth to cook. When your meat comes out you will also get 6 different dips/toppings(to be added after the meat is cooked). Teriyaki, a light curry, a plum sweet & sour sauce, one similar to a ranch, a cocktail sauce, and one similar to a cheese based chip dip. Additionally, this course comes with some vegetables to cook in the broth. Again, this course involves conversation(or bored staring) while waiting for food to cook. 4. Dessert. You get to pick a mix of chocolates and the dipping Item are strawberries and an assortment if bite sized cakes(rice Krispy, brownie, angel food cake, etc.)

Wonderful dining experience! Love the ambiance and wonderful service. Our waiter offered to refill our bread, veggies, fruits and treats without having to be asked. Got a great two for one deal on Living Social, so we splurged on cocktails.

I’ve been here many times for special occasions and it is always great! I personally love the atmosphere and the idea of the place. This weekend my boyfriend took me here for my 25th birthday and it was just lovely! We have come together before and decided to really branch out from our usual meal, which is a pretty big deal because the usual is what I crave! We got the«4 course meal» and started off with the fiesta cheese. So, much, yes! It was a cheddar base cheese with jalapeños and pico de gallo salsa. We added the«signature dipping plate» which was 3 types of sausage, along with with bread, chips and fruits and veggies that come with it! For dinner we decided to splurge and get the Mojo cooking style, it’s a citrus and cilantro based broth and it’s just amazing!(My boyfriend even made sure to remember the name so I could write it in my review) the veggies and chicken really held in the flavor of the broth. Dessert I couldn’t stray away from my simple milk chocolate fondue. It comes with strawberries, pound cake, brownies, rice crispy treats and marshmallows. Such a great end to an amazing meal! My boyfriend made reservations a head of time and even had them set up a little teddy bear and a box of chocolate dipped strawberries, and they gave me a special plate with happy birthday and a candle on it at the end! They do a great job making the day special and it isn’t the usual dinner experience. Overall I highly recommend this place for celebrations, or just a nice evening out!

It’s a fancy restaurant. The first course, cheese pot, is a little under expectation. The cheese is not thick enough to cover veggie and fruit. The bread is the best to dip. Salad is quite good. The main course is also great especially the meat. The complimentary broth is not good, so I recommend to get another cooking type(even though I didn’t try any). The mushroom, salmon, Angus beef, duck, BBQ pork are delicious, and the shrimp and filet mignon are also good but you need to be careful not to overcook or undercook. We didn’t try the dessert because we are very full already. It’s quite expensive compare the food value and it’s quite dark inside.

Ok so came here for the first time ever and I may or may not want to come back. So do you like fondue then they have the right setup and get it right. Lots of menu options to choose from but it can be a little overwhelming. Got the restaurant week menu also and that was simple and you got to try lots of different items at once. I would recommend having a group because it’s a lot of food to woof down if your a couple. The cheese fondue was the best and the stocks for the meats where ok. The dessert was tasty but the dippers where very lack luster. So if you got a group and love sharing then yeah try it, I just think I won’t be back for awhile if at all. But if you want fondue and not make a mess in your house this is the place.

Still my favorite place in the whole world. So loyal! Came this past weekend with my fiancé and our roommates, one of them had never been so I practically dragged them along with us. Everything was amazing as per usual, after months of stressful wedding planning and then holiday crunch time, I was ready for a relaxing night out and this was the happiest I’d been in a long time. Overly full? Of course, but who can really stop themselves with all that incredible goodness? Some people prefer just the cheese and chocolate and I always say with my girlfriends we’ll come back more often and just do that, but it’s impossible to say no to that delicious dinner! I can’t ever resist the lobster! And the dips that come with the dinner — if you haven’t, try combining the curry with teriyake to make curriyake omg its amazing and goes with anything! But the green goddess is always the winner. Summer sangria is amazing. The roommates girlfriend got a peach martini and although I normally don’t like them, it was SOGOOD. As always topped dessert off with a Yin & Yang. Bomb. Oh and we tried the bacon jalapeño cheese this time, new favorite! It used to be the mexican and then Wisconsin but yeah this one has bacon so who can really argue with that? I reserved seats for Valentines day for the first time in living memory. I always come the day before since that is my birthday but I really wanted a Valentines day thing this year so I’m glad I did, even if I had to give them a credit card! People complain about the prices, well I’d rather pay a lot of money to be this happy honestly. It might be sad how a bunch of food can undo months of stress for me, but it’s the little things in life, right?

Teacher appreciation night is a blast! All educators need to swing by the melting pot to enjoy quality service and fantastic food. Excellent salad, Alpine cheese fondue, Caesar salad and bourgonion for entrees! Try the caramel Heath chocolate fondue! Outstanding!

I had bought the livingsocial coupon for The Melting Pot 3-course meal for two back in the summer. With the deal applied, our check came out to be less than $ 3(however, the check showed the price it would have been, $ 76; without the coupon, I won’t be returning). The experience was different; me and my bf had never been to a Melting Pot before. The place was nice; this location was cozy and I could see why people would go for dates. However, the meal took nearly 3 hours to finish, because they had to keep setting up and taking away the different fondues(If you have all the time in the world, or if you’re trying to linger on the first date, this is the place to be… But if you’re starving, I’d skip this place). We started off with salads and cheese fondue. I got a sweet salad(the name escapes me), but it was pretty yummy with nuts and fruit mixed in it. The cheese fondue we selected was the spinach cheddar. I enjoyed that as well, the breads and apples were a good selection for dippers. I agree with one of the other Unilocalers; the dinner consisting of different raw meats was not the most aesthetically pleasing thing. Looks aren’t everything, so I’ll note that it wasn’t super-tasty, either. I originally assumed the broth was meant to be for eating, like hot pot –style meals. The waiter explained the entrée broth was just for cooking. The broth was barely flavorful anyway, so I don’t think I would have wanted to have it as a soup… My bf and I both agreed that the dessert fondue was the only thing we’d return for. We chose the Yin & Yang chocolate fondue. It came with plentiful cut fruits, cakes, and our favorite: the marshmallows. Overall, I give Melting Pot at 2.5 stars, the place is friendly and nice but without the deal, there is no deal. Expensive and a lot of waiting and for mediocre food. Much better date spots are out there!
