Uptown Cafe

I’ve been coming here every day since my workplace moved recently. The people running this place are very nice and always cheerful. The dining tables, although I’ve never used them because I always take my food upstairs, seem to be cleaned thoroughly and regularly — I’ve never seen them be dirty. The music also contributes to an ambient atmosphere. The food itself is great as well — I’ve only been here about 5 times so far but I wasn’t disappointed in any of those 5 trips. They cook sandwiches nice and warm, but not so hot that they become inedible. The one thing I’ll warn you about is the Spicy Chicken & Rice dish. You better buy a drink to go with it, because they aren’t kidding about it being spicy!

This place sucks.
The food is slightly under mediocre at best. It would be bearable since I work in the building except the lady who works the café is rude and unfriendly.
The first time I had ever been there, I ordered an omelet and she said they were out of home fries which came with the meal. I said that was fine and asked if I could replace it with a bag of chips. She responded with a curt no. I asked for some jelly to go with my toast and she started asking me to pay for it until she realized she sounded stingy as sh! t then proceeded to cut herself off.
The second time I went there, I asked for a chicken breakfast burrito. She walked away with her usual silence and began prepping to make it. An older gentleman walked in and ordered «same thing as yesterday». She immediately stopped making my meal and started making his first. I was a little annoyed but brushed it off. What topped it all off was that she took his cash when he paid with her cooking glove, handled his money then began cooking my meal with out changing the glove.
DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY!
The variety sucks and so does the service. AND its over priced.

Little place on the first floor. Didn’t even know it was there until I saw a guy with a sign standing on Sunset one day coming into work.
Nice café with a salad bar, and hot lunch buffet-​style (food selection varies day to day– pasta, Chinese, etc). They have a regular deli-​style counter too where you can order made-​to-​order cold or hot items.
I had the Uptown Club which was excellent.
Nice and clean with nice seating and setting (just off W&OD).
