Like the previous reviewer mentioned, this place has not been renovated in the 30 years. It is falling apart and it looks disguising. In addition the heating system has some issues and it is cold inside in addition to dark and gloomy. Food is OK, on par with other Russian restaurants that are in Boston. The best part was a live band. That’s about it. If you desire Russian food, go to Boston/Brighton/Brookline. Plenty of better options over there.

First to review this place– cool! It’s a weird kind of place, really. Located in the shadiest corner of Lynn, this is one of the few Russian restaurants around that I know of. I’ve been coming here since I was four, during the time when Mirage reeked of cigarette smoke. Since then, it hasn’t been renovated even once. I swear, this place has been exactly the same since the fall of the Soviet Union! Besides that, it’s a nice big area, so there’s plenty of room to move around and dance. The food is decent. I do like the fact that they mix it up a little and add some Middle Eastern/Armenian/Mediterranean dishes along with Russian foods(which for the most part I don’t like). Plenty of finger foods, such as baba ganouch(again, lots of things besides Ruski), Russian caviar, hummus, olives, etc. The dinner was rice and chicken for me. Can’t complain, could’ve been a little better. And what I do like about this place is the live band entertainment. Not just catered for Cold War Vets, the band also covers some Armenian, American, and Spanish hits. But for the most part, they keep it real and play fun music to dance to– mostly modern Russian pop songs, so definitely different for most people. I’d say come with a group and judge for yourself. Personally, I kind of dig this place for some weird reason. But don’t arrive with high expectations…
