Come here all the time and enjoyed every meal I’ve had here. The chicken and tacos are great especially the crispy chicken tacos!

The food is great and always fresh; the menu selection is awesome. The prices are very competitive. I would have given them five starts if it wasn’t for their super slow delivery service. Over an hour wait time to deliver within 2 miles. It is worth the wait for us as the food makes up for it. Please expedite your delivery so we can give you five stars.

ordered from here last weekend, when we wanted something hot but were sick of chinese and all the greek/italian/pizza places we’ve tried have been… well, gross. i had no idea latin fried chicken was even a thing, but when in rome, ya know? first things first, their foodler menu is jacked up, and so is their website. their website pages just hang and don’t load at all, and while the foodler menu is inclusive in its items, it doesn’t tell you what anything is.(for instance, offerings like«royal chicken» and«premier chicken» have no further explanation.) but not to worry! a little googling brought up their menu on the eat24 website — , which has descriptions and, even better, pictures. so we were able to use that to successfully place a foodler order.(we prefer foodler as all our information is already saved, we earn points, and in this case, the eat24 website stated we were out of their delivery range even though we weren’t.) i got the«premier royal chicken» which is three pieces of fried chicken(leg, wing, & thigh) and fries, cole slaw, and a dinner roll for $ 11.49. the portions are generous, the chicken was moist(sorry) and the skin was crispy. nice breading without being too thick and great flavor with a little spice. i don’t usually eat fries but these were really good. the roll was just a little potato roll, nothing to write home about. the cole slaw was pretty standard except for the addition of cilantro. and speaking of, yes, the chicken does come with a little container of a creamy cilantro dressing which i thought was really tasty with the chicken. J got the six piece chicken tenders dinner, which also comes with fries, cole slaw & dinner roll for $ 9.99(and honey mustard for the tenders). now, here’s where i have a bone to pick with places around here. when one orders chicken fingers or chicken tenders, you expect tenders a la KFC or popeye’s — fried chicken without the bones, essentially. but what you get are these pounded thin, breadcrumbed and pan fried chicken breast cutlets. on the one hand, it’s a ton of chicken, and it has good flavor, but on the other, it’s just not what satisfies a chicken tender craving. we also got a cheese pupusa, an order of fried sweet plantains, and a strawberry shake. i really just need to stop trying to order pupusas for takeout as they can’t survive the drive, especially when packed in styrofoam. nothing to be done about that though really, you could tell it would have been yummy if you had eaten it fresh at the restaurant, just doesn’t benefit from getting steamed and cooled. the plantains were really good. the strawberry shake had great real strawberry flavor. just know this is a mexican style shake, which is more like foamy, creamy fruit water as opposed to an ice cream based shake. overall i would order from here again if i needed a chicken fix and was too lazy(read: hungover) to drive down to popeye’s. delivery was fast, the food arrived hot, and the delivery guy was really nice, had no problems finding our apartment and spoke perfect english.(obviously NOT a prerequisite in any way for restaurants we patronize, but we have a tricky address and a language barrier especially over the phone can make for a really frustrating scenario for everyone involved if they have to call.) i’d give another star if/when we try more menu items or if the prices went down a little. $ 40 for two people to have fried chicken from a chain is a little steep.

This local ethnic joint deserves all the good reviews. I tried the Tacos Dorados de pollo and papusa and am appropriately imperssed. Polite and efficient staff, unusual and tastey food. If in the area or seeking something different, check them out.

I think this place deserves better reviews than it’s getting. I’ve spent a decent amount of time in Mexico and this place has the best Mexican food I’ve found in greater Boston. Very authentic. I haven’t eaten in, nor pre-ordered… only takeout. I will say that most of the employees are Spanish speakers and not always the best with English. But I’m pretty good with Spanish, so I’m not docking any points for that. I’ve ordered a few things from here and have been with friends. Everyone has raved about the quality of the food. I’ve only tried traditional Mexican food, or tex-mex. I haven’t had the chicken wings or anything more American. But what I have always been really surprised at the great quality and so have my friends. I’ve only docked points because I would only treat this as a take out place… the atmosphere inside leaves something to be desired. Also, any time I have had food, they have taken a bit of a while to prepare it. Not so long that I’m not willing to wait, but longer than I would have liked. However, for the high quality, I would rather wait. Also, I have found the food to be slightly higher in price that I would have expected.

To our amazement we arrived at a latin fried chicken restaurant and they spoke english and spanish, the service was great, the fried chicken and rice and beans were great and the chicken was very crispy. It was so good we went twice this week. I say amazed about all of this because others seemed bothered that they speak spanish in a spanish restaurant and were so negative! We loved it! Give it a try and you will too! Gracias Pollo Royal para todos!(For critics about to say well he’s latin, not!!! :-))

I was randomly stuck in this part of Revere because I missed my bus. Roamed around looking for something to eat and decided to go here. I had passed a few times and was curious about the food. I went in and ordered 3 pieces of chicken. It cost $ 4.98 and I was out the door in like 7 minutes. So while I was waiting for the next bus I was eating chicken. Juggling this styrofoam plate with chicken while I try the cilantro mayonnaise or whatever that sauce was. The sauce was good, but I am not really sure it goes on fried chicken. The chicken was seasoned well and tasted good, but it was horrifically greasy, I could have stuck a straw in there and had a sip. So I would say eat here if you like clogged arteries and are in the mood for fried chicken. I will be back though to try the roasted chicken and some more things on the menu, I am just not sure when that will be.

The big sister to the restaurant of the same name on Commercial Street in Lynn. They do fried chicken right here batting three out of three for quality chicken. The crust is crispy with a nice crunch, the meat is moist without being overly greasy and the flavor is nice.

I must’ve driven by this place about 100 times before being convinced that this place was an authentic latin chicken joint that I should try. I got the roast chicken and loved it. I haven’t got their sides but it is worth stopping in just for the roast chicken. It also comes with some type of cilantro dipping sauce that is also really tasty.

If i could give them no stars i would. I have ordered from them before and it was ok so we gave them another try. We ordered there chicken n rice n beans. The rice n beans had gone bad n it smelled so bad i couldnt believe they served it. Called the restaurant and explained to them that the rice n beans had gone bad n they needed to throw it away. The woman on the phone didnt seemed concerned about the info n rushed me off the phone! Now my husband n cousin have food poisoning! NEVERAGAIN! Save yourself the money n go somewhere else!

It saddens me to give this place a bad review I have been a customer a long time and enjoy there food alot. Im writing this review because of the horrible customer service I have received respeatedly!!! The lady forgot to put an item on my last order and argued with me saying she did when I clearly and camly explained that I did not receive it. After 20 minutes of argueing she told me she would let me receive an item on my next order. I let it slide and said«ok». Only to order again 2 weeks later and have her forget a whole entrée and tell me she double checked and knew it was there!!! So much for the customers always right. I calmly explained I have more to do in my life then call them up and lie about an item, and asked to speak to a manager which apparently wasnt available! In other words never had I had such a horrible customer service experience! Beware this horrible rude woman!

I signed up for Unilocal just to give this place a better review. I live about a 3 minute walk from this place, so you can say I am here quite often. And since they are the *ONLY* place to get good food that is open past 11 that is on Broadway in Revere, my roommates and I eat here often.(We’re night folks) The place itself is nice. Great location, some free parking(and meters). Great ambiance inside. always clean, and the tables are always set. We often go there for take out, so I can’t speak much about dining in. However, they always have people eating in there(usually in the back room), so service must be good for order-at-counter-and-bring-it-to you later. And it appears they use real dishes when dining in.(and not trays and take out boxes) The food is great. I don’t think we’ve ever had anything bad, other than not eating eating it as soon as we got home.(see below) and we’ve eaten most of the things on the menu, both the chicken and standard Latino fare. I’d like to think that this is far better than KFC, and yes this is a chain(they have a website), but a very small chain.(this location is one out of 3 I think). And as much as I hate to peg a ethnic group, Latino’s make some hella good chicken. We have several of these types of places up and down Broadway(in both Revere and Chelsea) and I’ve eaten at many. But this one is the best. Prices are«so so», mostly because I’ve yet to understand why fried chicken is so expensive!(again not a knock so much against Pollo Royal, but the general quick serve fried chicken places in general like Popeye’s, KFC, Church’s, etc) But its on par with its national competitors so I wont take off points for this. But… I have two complaints about Pollo Royal. Number one is the take out containers. They use polystyrene containers which DONOTVENT, and it makes the roll and salad they include all mushy within minutes. They need to vent the boxes some with a fork Number two is the lack there of English speakers after 8pm. Even the managers english is marginal. And forget about calling to pre-order. Its a nightmare and its always wrong. Again it’s due to the lack of me not knowing Spanish, and their English being marginal. But in their defense, this place is geared more toward Latino’s and not us white folks. I’ve rarely seen a white person in here. And they seem to know all of us by face as we have been told that we are one of the few white people that patronize their restaurant. And this is a shame because their food is really good! Of course the language barrier hasn’t stopped us from patronizing this place, the chicken is just too good not to go. We just order in person first(so we can point at the menu). Of course the ladies behind the counter laugh at us and the cashier as we try to place our order. But its all good, as we find it funny ourselves. But other than that, its worth the trip as a great alternative to KFC.

Go here for the fried chicken and I love their rolled fried chicken tacos(if I described them right lol), with the sauce they are great. Spacious restaurant, and decent prices. Overall great place.

Not to profile … but, I think Latin places make the best chicken. Unfortunately, this was not one of those places. But don’t get me wrong — the food was a bit above average and I would go back if I was in the area(on my way home from the airport) and I wanted to have a quick pupusa or carne a la parrilla. The staff(2 young girls) were very friendly and helpful. They were a bit amused that gringos were in their place and kept giggling at our pronunciation of the dishes and our questions. The chicken soup was decent enough, but I needed to add a lot of salt and pepper to bring our the chicken flavor and give it a bit of a kick. The upshot … give it a try, but don’t expect the«royal» treatment.
