Revere Beach

Having family in Revere we often travel past Revere Beach but never actually stop. Today I decided to spend a little time watching the winter waves after the most recent show fall.
Today it was nice to watch the waves flowing onto the snow covered shores while some folks walled their dogs on the beach. The view was beautiful and we can’t wait to come back next year for the sandcastle competition.

Not great but it does the job. You can reach revere beach easily from the t which was my requirement. It’s mostly clean just rocky. It takes some getting used to. Across the street depending on what part you go to is several options for food and ice cream. All quite cheap and okay. My main problem is i don’t feel comfortable to come here alone. There are some real weirdos that hang around here.

My favorite place to spend a summer day is Revere Beach. There is plenty of free parking right along the boulevard, and many places to eat nearby. It is also accessible by the MBTA blue line at Revere Beach station and also Wonderland station. The beach is very clean and the water is very blue and nice for swimming because it is clear & calm & there are not a lot of rocks or seaweed like many MA beaches. You can sit at the pavilion end if you want to be closer to all the action such as restaurants, bars, and bath houses. Or head down the further end past Wonderland for a more peaceful quiet experience. The Sand Sculpture weekend is amazing, though be cautioned there are a lot of tourists and it is seemingly impossible to keep up with cleanup so you will see trash scattered about and there is no parking on the boulevard that weekend because the street is closed. I enjoy viewing the sculptures in the early morning before the crowds arrive. Revere is a lovely beach and I suggest everyone go check it out you may be pleasantly surprised.

I went on a Thursday in August and got off at the Wonderland stop. It was delightfully uncrowded and peaceful. It’s very convenient to get to. Watch your feet because there are sharp shell pieces on the beach, but they are fun to collect. There was a little trash on the beach, but I’ve seen worse. It seemed pretty clean to me. I didn’t see any showers though — that would’ve been nice, as taking the T back in my sandy, salty condition was unpleasant.

Lots and lots of parking, sand is clean, and water looks nice. The water is cold but that can’t be helped. Lots of people tanning and walking the beach. Feels safe for the little ones.

Was pleasantly surprised! The beach and ocean were clean, not very crowded, shaded pavilion areas, few places close by to get some food. I would recommend, especially since it’s so close to the city.

Enjoyed it. Liked going for a walk on the beach. Would love to See more businesses closer by to grab a bite ! Overall I Enjoyed my visit.

Everyone’s saying it. Revere Beach, it’s not as bad as it used to be.
Sure there is still trash in the water (not a jellyfish, I checked), cigarette butts, creepers who are creeping on that wall and just staring all the damn day. But it only cost me $ 2.10 to get to this beach and 1.2 hours of my precious time.
And I’ll be damned if I am gonna let a little trash ruin my beach experience.

I’ve been to this beach a handful of times and only realized recently how large it was. It was a hot and sunny Sunday so parking was tough at first, but there is usually on street parking available on Ocean Ave, if not there is a $ 5 parking lot. Even though parking was tight, the beach was not crowded. We love coming here with our 2 year old, it is clean with the exception of a few cigarette butts. We can’t wait to come here for the international sand sculpting competition!

When I moved here 4 years ago, I heard terrible things about this beach — dirty, crowded, and unsafe.
I started going at the beginning of this summer, and I love it!
— The beach is clean, for the most part.
— I can always find a parking spot during my first loop around.
— No car? TWO T-​stops — Wonderland and Revere Beach.
— State Police located right by Wonderland stop, in case you are feeling unsafe.
— Covered picnic benches and seating.
— Small restaurants along almost the entire strip.
Definitely recommend giving this beach a chance.

We just stopped by for a half hour walk before heading to the airport. It was more than I expected. They don’t charge for parking. I was surprised not to find parking meters. There is easly beach access. The beach was just feet from where we parked. There is a long stretch of sand. It was rather quiet but them again it was early on a Wednesday afternoon. I would plan to stop again on the way out of town.

I didn’t hear very good things about this beach but I went anyway since its right off of the T and I am so glad I went! The beach was clean, only a few pieces of litter which is totally normal in a public area. The town isn’t the nicest but I did feel safe.
There are actually two bathrooms. One is kind of gross and the other is very well kept. Both have plenty of stalls, soap, hand dryers, and mirrors.
The shoreline is huge and the sand is soft. There are a lot of shells but they’re not a safety issue.
I visited beginning of May and it was a bit cool, wore my jacket the whole time.
Plenty of places to eat on the beach as well. Will definitely go back.

Visited mid May. Beautiful beach, really impressed for a city beach. Great boardwalk along the edge. Not a ton of sand at high tide but the beach stretches out over a long distance.
We visited before the summer heat and the water was calm and very clear.

Great public beach, full of all the tropes and nostalgia of any public place by the sea. Shame the sand is trucked-​in sandpit stuff and not the amazing beach sand of other Massachusetts ocean beaches, but hey, this beach is awesome.

Eh… was expecting more than this. Yes the beach is huge but there’s only one place to go to the bathroom and its absolutely filthy. I know its a public rest room but yuck the one I used didnt have a lock or a hook to hang anything so that was fun. The toilet paper isnt even 1 ply maybe ½ a ply. Anyway moving on there were tons of sharp shells I mean tons everywhere you looked. Got lunch at Kellys and was stalked by seagulls bigger than my dog. Then my honey bunny wanted ice cream she’s standing there eating it happy as could be and bam a seagull takes the cone. It was ok but nothing I would go back or recommend.

Doesn’t look like the fanciest beach but it gets the job done. Careful about stepping on sea shells or weird jelly like things (couldn’t figure out if the remains were plant or animal based). I really enjoyed viewing the remains of the sand castle competition. Don’t know about parking since I took the T there but it did look like there was plenty of street parking along the beach as we walked from the mbta stop. Saw what seemed to be harvard or MIT students playing frisbee. Then again, they could just be tourists. You can buy Harvard and MIT merchandise anywhere in Boston.

A nice city beach that is very easy to get to thanks to the blue line. Quite a bit of shells and rocks but nothing that cut my feet. Water was ok. Apparently they were filming ‘Black Mass’ with Johnny Depp while I was there so I’ll def have to watch that movie when it comes out.

It’s a beach. It’s eh. It’s not filled with trash as some people say it is, but it’s not great either. The pictures of it in old-​en times are great – wish they would redo it!

Been living in the revere area all my life. I grew up walking revere beach for years and will continue until the apocalypse comes or a tsunami comes. hehe
The first public beach in the USA YEAH!

Revere beach it’s a new place. I like it now very much clean state police office right in the middle. The water is a little cold but hey it’s New England. Great sandwich place — nicks place —
It’s totally different from years ago. I love it.

I had an early season hankering to go to the beach. All of my friends with cars were out of town, and I didn’t want to spend a lot of moolah on commuter rail. Thus: my first trip to Revere Beach happened.
My two roommates, who are Boston area natives, specifically warned me NOT to go to Revere Beach. Their colorful narratives led me to believe that there would be rampant syringes and used condoms scattered among shells in the sand. I suspected they were exaggerating, though, and I really, really wanted to go to the beach. So (without telling them) I went.
And as it turns out, they WERE exaggerating– or maybe they were just describing a Revere Beach of years past. From what I have heard, there was a concerted effort to clean up this beach over the last decade or so, and the results are great. Revere Beach was remarkably clean, and there was nothing at all gross about the water. It’s also HUGE– tons of room for all beach-​goers to spread out!
Other perks: the beach is free to the public. And it is literally right off the T (you can get off right at the Revere Beach stop off the Blue Line, but I got off at Wonderland), so if you have a monthly T pass, it’s essentially free to get there.
Downfalls: it’s not located in the prettiest part of town. Even the stands on the boardwalk who seemed to be doing a baller business selling ice cream, burgers, etc. looked a little shabby, and the surrounding neighborhood doesn’t provide much in the way of beach-​side activity. Also, as I walked eastward, I did notice a bit of trash (harmless stuff like old towels and paper cups) on the beach, so that was a little off-​putting, but definitely not enough to keep me from returning in the future.
Overall, I’d say this is a working man’s beach. It reminds me a little of the Ocean City Beach in NJ, if way less touristy and… New Jersey-​ish. But right off the Blue Line? I will be back for sure.
