Torretta’s Bakery

I came to visit some family in Revere from Texas, and decided to walk in for some pastry. The staff was very friendly and I really wanted to like it. While the filling and shell were very tasty, they were all hollow in the middle. I also ordered some sfogliatella, and the pastry was very hard to bite into. However, the winner were the macaroons, they incredible.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! My first time in here and the woman in front of me ordering said she came all the way from San Francisco to try Torettas. I can see why. Their italian pastry are to die for… authentic Italian pastry like your grandmother would make. Being a family run business they care about their customers and it shows when you walk in the door. I honestly can’t say enough about this place except I will travel an hour for their cakes and pastries. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I usually stop in here on Saturday/​Sunday mornings with my boyfriend for coffee and breakfast, and boy do they get busy! In the morning they seem to have their regulars hanging out inside with their coffee and paper. The workers in the morning are pretty pleasant and efficient, and one has even learned our orders. Some of the workers later in the day/​night aren’t as great, and I think the son that does the baking isn’t the friendliest. Things I love: latte, elephant ear, almond croissant, apple turnover, sfogliateli (sp?), cannoli, ricotta pie and eclairs. So, basically everything. Have even picked up cakes from here that were a hit. Street parking is pretty easy here, and is also directly across the street from Beachmont station.

I don’t know what happened a year ago when Kay G. Worked here but all i know is that in the time that i have worked here, never have i ever seen any bread fall and then sold it, and of course the pastries must be refrigerated/​frozen, its common sense, that doesn’t mean we sell outdated things, we always check the pastries, food cakes and bread for freshness. And when i started my job of course they were very strict in how i should do things and clean up but it didn’t bother me, they just want things to be done right and nicely. Thats all there is to it.

Closest pizza I’ve found to a ny sicilian pie. I swear nobody in Massachusetts has ever heard of one.
It could use some more sauce and a tiny bit more cheese. Overall a solid pie, especially for anyone coming from the tri state

I recently moved to the area and I decided to take a walk over to Torretta’s to see what the hype was about. When I arrived (at about 7:30pm –on a Tuesday night) there weren’t too many customers inside so I had the luxury of taking my time looking at all the tasty baked goods.
I ended up getting a slice of chocolate cheese cake which I later ate at home. It was very very good. The atmosphere was pleasant and the owners (I assume) were very friendly.
I plan to try something from their deli selection on my next visit.

Best connoli’s in the world! Momma Toretta is the sweetest lady. I stop here everytime I’m in Revere. Better pastries than the North End for the price. I definitely recommend this place!

Best Pizza Gaina, evah!!!

i love pastry and this is the place for the best and such a variety. ofcourse when there i always get the delicious pizza squares. a must have. also i am a fan of the tart with kiwi fruit, strawberries and blueberries on it. the ricotta pie is to die for. my sister was looking for a place to buy pizzagaina for xmas and apparently they have this. oh i am going to surprise her big time. she loves it and i am sure theres is top notch. you must try it!

I love their Spuckie rolls. Their French rolls are good too. And reasonably priced. Better rolls than Stop N Shop and at a better price too.

Have been going here for years as it is near my family’s home. Great pizza, great pastries. I have never had any problems with an order. Their bakery pizza is amazing!

Two words: Reese’s. Torte.
Cake is like 22 bucks… but worth every friggin penny.
And every pound added to my waistline.
And every risk of diabetes known to man.
Yummy.
Haven’t had anything else there, but with Reese’s as my bloodline, can’t really complain too much.

While slowly working my way through the Boston area, I encountered an Italian pastry shop (which also has a deli menu, mind you) in the process of finding my way around Revere. So I loaded up on a few small pastries, such as a mini éclair and a mini chocolate mousse square. These were tasty little snacks, but I was dismayed by the lack of rainbow cookies (maybe it’s more of a NY/​NJ thing than a New England thing). I’ll give this place 3 stars, with an upward trajectory to 3.5 stars.

the baked goods are unbeatable and its a terrific little find for beachmont. however the service is pretty hit or miss. its not odd that after i walk in, i decide to walk right back out again. .. sometimes its better to pick another day or another time to get their goodies. id rather not wait in their frustratingly slow lines for their product. .. i dont need baked good THAT bad to get frustrated over a pie. its simple. .. they are a small family run unit. so they have to hire high school girls. .. i get it. .. or they hire an older woman who is a family member or a friend. prompt service and counter help that is running around frantic is not exactly what i would expect from first or second generation italians. slow leisurely service is actually a good sign as to the authenticity of their product. busy commuters and folks in a rush ought to just go to the dunkin donuts across the street if you are worried about getting your seven minute cup of coffee.
to adress the «gentle“man who didnt receive service because he let someone CUT him in line. .. speak up for yourself, youre an adult. its your own fault if you allow someone else to cut you in line. this is a lesson most children learn in grade school.

Placed an order a week in advanced for cake & went to pick up and wasnt made. It was actually on the wrong board. I waited for the son to come back and make. Needless to say, I wont wait again to have a cake made since it didnt have time to set, fell apart & doesnt taste as well.
Not happy at all. Plus should have been offered at a lower price. Per the owner gave me candles free but price didnt seem to reflect that as all.

I love walking down the public stairs of beachmont on a bitter cold winters’ day, slipping on ice with nothing to hold on to but that warm calming and suddenly hungry feeling I get as I slide my way down the hill and into the aromatic cloud of warm freshly baked bakery goods thru the heating vent.

they make a fresh vanilla iced cappacinno which i was hooked on for while. Last summer. i also like thier italian sub. It is so adorable how it looks so made with love, this one woman that made it once it took her while and it was like a work of art it was so cute, also care was taken to see to it that it wasnt so big and messy you cant actually bite ino it,. Every slice of cold cut was perfectly folded inside the sub roll so nice n neat. i dont mind if a person makin my sandwich takes time to make it nice. I also just few days ago my mother brought me some two crème puffs an éclair and this pastry atop an amaretto flavored cookie that was a small chocolate round thing atop this decadent amaretto cookie. I ate all four pastries and they were so fresh and not too sweet, that truly european baked good treats vibe where its not overly sugar laden, Like american pastries and treats are alwasy so sweet its like overkill, but these were great, the crème puff part was so fresh right combo of crisp and plush outside and yunmmy inside, super fresh tastn… This place is gav of mine and will be a spot i will go out my way to bring my family n friends too when they visit me, i like it so much i like to show other people it, too. I also liked service and cute little tables inside and things, looks like they make some impressive cakes too for b days i like lookn at the designs when i am in these places being into arts n crafts n baking n what not, while you wait in line or whteve its always fun to scope out the pretty cakes designs.

I really hate doing updates like this. Their food is great and their baked goods are nicely priced but their service really stinks.
So I walk in, and pick out everything I want. And I wait, and wait, and wait… wait some more while mama toretta is yapping to a friend, while that friend’s husband is being helped already. Seriously, a cup of coffee takes 7 minutes to make (which might sound impatient, but 7 minutes is a little long to wait before you’re even greeted). So then another customer comes in, and mama toretta finally realizes that she has customers, even though she saw me when I walked in and decides she doesn’t want to help me, but instead she helped the woman who just walked in.
In short. I left. Who knows if I will be back, their service has declined significantly since my first visit.
