Rental accommodations never seem to live up to the online photos, but this one actually does! I could go on and on, but here are the things you need to know: cool yard with fire pit and patio, rustic setting, the rushing sound of the river, the hot tub, the woodstove, and even the bed was pretty comfy. It’s also within stumbling distance of the Skyway Bar and Grill(which has terrific mixed drink and beer options). The husband and I had tons of plans for the weekend — we were going to ski and snowshoe and spend time at Timberline… no. We didn’t do any of those things(we’re also from the area, so we didn’t feel the need to cram in a bunch of activities). Instead we sat on the comfy couch, tended the fire, and drank copious amounts of brandy. Then we went to Skyway, came home, and sat in the hot tub. Totally worth every minute. If you want a relaxing getaway or even just a cool place to stay near Mt. Hood, you’ve found it.

A very rustic looking cabin, set among the trees, with plenty of wood and windows, gives you the feeling you are back in time. Quiet and homey, the cabin has plenty of charm, from the electric 1930’s wood stove in the kitchen, to the wood floors, paned windows, massive fireplace with a wood stove, and claw foot tub. There is a covered front porch and an almost wrap around deck. The back deck features a hot tub, table/chairs and bench. From the hot tub you can hear the river… The kitchen is fairly well stocked with dishes, knives, and pots/pans, but I always bring my favorites anyway. There is one bedroom with a comfy bed, which our 6 year old granddaughter and I shared and meant grandpa slept on the couch. Not that comfortable. There are plenty of family games to play on the shelves, and even though there is cable TV, it was rarely on. I liked the wi-fi;-). This is day two of four. When your granddaughter doesn’t want to leave, you know owner Martin is doing something right. Well done, great experience.
