Chicken Express

I saw the 4.5 star average review and knew it was too good to be true — I just didn’t know how inflated it was. As it turns out, the reviews must be grossly inflated as this is a poor man’s Golden Chick. The tenders taste a little odd, the breading lacks any seasoning and the only dipping sauce is a giant tub of tasteless goo, err, I mean gravy. Really bad.
The Mac n Cheese was equally bland, to the point that the pasta was indistinguishable from the ‘cheese’ sauce. Horrible.
The catfish filets are decent though, and if only they put as much effort into the chicken as they do in the rolls and biscuits, I’d have squeezed out an additional star.
But seriously, Raising Canes is less than a block away and absolutely crushes this place. There’s even a Golden Chick a half mile down. Please. Just keep driving. You can’t be that desperate.
The Chicken Express title is fairly accurate, though, as an Express Trip to the Bathroom is definitely in your future.

I had the chicken tenders and they were fantastic. The coating on the outside was light, crispy, and seasoned perfectly. They were perfect tenders. I normally look for some hot sauce to put on my fried chicken, but this was so good that it didn’t need anything. I did sample the gravy that they provide as part of the meal, but honestly I didn’t want anything to distract from the chicken. The biscuit was also very good, reminiscent of Popeye’s biscuits. Service was quick and friendly, and the guy who was running the drive-​through line is definitely enjoying himself.

Pretty average chicken, but the tenders are a little better. Kind of reminds me of a golden chick with no seasoning to the batter. The only reason they get 3 stars is the staff here is awesome!

This Chicken Express has the friendliest drive thru workers! Every time I’ve been here the food has been SO HOT AND FRESH! Pour the hot serendipity seasoning on your chicken, it’s so yummy!

Best chicken place in Richardson by far. The student special is very good. They always have great southern hospitality. I am always greeted great. Instead of numbers they call you for your name. Sometimes they call for you by your last name when your food is ready. Ex. Mr. Lange. Love the chicken.

I ordered meals to take over for a group at my son’s school. They were extremely helpful and friendly! Packing up all the meals and drinks and labeling them for me as well as helping me out to the car. And the kids loved the chicken. Worked out great. I would give 6 stars for service if I could.

Good chicken, awesome dinner roles, tasty sweet tea. This location is always clean when I have been there and fairly quick. I’m not too big a fan of the mac and cheese!
