Holy cats! The intake receptionist put me on hold because she had to check with her superior to make a sure a «Catholic» could be seen as a patient because: «the Meier clinic is for Christian based counseling.» She seemed oblivious of how ignorant, offensive or quite frankly bigoted her statement was. Or that denying people service because of their race, religion or ethnicity is a violation of the law. She also expressed concern if I was right for their therapy program because I said I was reluctant to be prescribed medication. I canceled the appointment. I’d rather be bat-crap insane than drink whatever kool-aid these so-called«Christians» are serving.

I used to really like seeing Sara, until one day I was ten minutes late. Just once. No second chances. I was turned away in my tone of need. I understand it’s important to be on time, but I was already rushing from work,(which I had to leave early btw) and traffic was absolutely horrible. It was unexpected and unavoidable. Does that matter? No. All that matters to Meier is what they can get out of you. I obviously struggle with mental illness or I wouldn’t be going there. I’ve recently had an awful time with my depression. Maybe the worst I’ve ever been, and being turned away from the place that is supposed to be my help when I’m feeling this way… that’s just shitty. Turning someone away that has serious depression, anxiety, etc, will only push them that much further over the edge. If the patient’s health mattered to them, they’d at least offer one chance.

After horrible experiences at Dallas Physciatric Associates I was happy to finally find a place that was way more professional as far as medication management goes. I saw a women named Sara and she was really pretty and down to earth. She actually listed to me and was really concerned about the meds I had currently taken . (I was given to much Xanax at the above location) Even though this was my first visit I already feel like im in a welcoming environment. TIPS: –If your more than 10 min late to an appointment you will not be seen. –They are religious(I assume Christians) but don’t let that discourage you. They are not overbearing at all. –If they write you a prescription and you lose it, there is a $ 10.00 charge for a new one.(written or called in) –If you cant make it to an appointment and happen to need a refill between appointments there is a $ 20.00 charge That’s all for now .I will keep you Unilocalers posted

Wasted time and money. Most therapy is done by interns. There were a lot of wasted hours of «down time» in the in patient program. Truly an EXPENSIVE disappointment.
