Renters beware! This place has good prices on books. But if you make a rental within the first week of class, return the book before the deadline. I rented the book that was on my syllabus but my professor said I did not need it. The book was still in shrink-wrap and not was not opened. I tried to return it but they told me I can’t get a refund because the return deadline had passed 2 days before. They tell me I can either keep it till the end of the semester or return it now. Seriously?! I can return the book now or later, but either way, you’re going to keep my money for a book that is worthless to me?! I only go to that class once a week and when the professor tells me I don’t need the book in the following week, this place won’t accept the return when just I got out of my second day in class?! The whole point of renting a textbook is to receive value from it. When you have to return something that you know you did not receive any value from and they keep your money anyway, how is that fair?! How is that even a good business practice?! But what’s more insulting is that they get to keep both the book and your money in the end. It’s like paying an entire year’s rent when you only just stayed for one month. It’s like a robbery just happened. Honestly, it would be a lot more reasonable if this place extended the deadline to the Friday on the second week of the semester. Otherwise, a bunch of people will not get their refunds after their professor tells them they don’t need their book in the first place. And because of the extremely early return deadline, it feels this business is purposely hoping for that to happen. Don’t ever believe this place is out to help students by offering a cheaper alternative than the UTD bookstore. When it comes to rentals, the store return policy is designed to exploit students. If you don’t return your books unreasonable soon, you’re going to get ripped off.

Got correct books today; returned wrong books to UT bookstore — great helpful staff at Off Campus knew exactly in minutes — awesome

Very useful resource if you are planning to rent or buy books not online. They offer free scantrons here so that is a plus. Usually, I order my books online, but if I need a book immediately, this is the place to go. There are a variety of UTD souvenirs you can get, and they all look fairly decent– possibly more than the bookstore on campus. In general, if you’re trying to sell your books back here, you won’t get too much back, so the best bet is to rent it, unless you’re keeping the book for more than one semester. Good luck!

Skip their graduation stuff. Ordered graduation announcements with very cool-looking green seal, arrived with once edge fuzzy(uncut) and very unprofessional looking., said it was«for an old-timey feel.» Offered to replace them with a plainer version(cut clean), except these don’t fold evenly(the folds you make result in the final form being slightly off-kilter) and the text isn’t even centered. Very shoddy, would not recommend. If you don’t buy books online you’re wasting money, don’t come here. The frame I bought was lovely. and the rented gown was cheap. That’s about the only good thing I can say.

Thank you Off Campus Books for carrying the crazy expensive textbooks I needed for my classes and allowing me to rent them for almost full price! You carry some awesome UTD items that are even cuter than what we have on campus. Lastly, thank you for taking back my books without thoroughly inspecting them. Towards the end of this semester I spilled some salsa on my book and you didn’t care! Because of this, I am eternally grateful as I was worried sick about returning them before leaving UTD.

Always free scantrons for students!!:) That’s always a plus. On average, their books are cheaper to buy(or rent!!) as well. Don’t buy the book if you’re not going to keep it! Total waste of $$. Since a lot of books are replaced at the end of the Spring Semester never buy the books in Spring… you may not be able to sell them back! That goes for every bookstore. Renting is the way to go. They’re always friendly here, and have more books in stock then the other stores. Lots of merchandise too, and much better pricing than the UTD Bookstore! Great place for students on a budget:)

Went to UTD for four years. Bought books at off campus every semester. They always had my books, and had the RIGHT books for my classes. Had friends in class that got the wrong book, and then couldn’t swap them out at the on campus store, granted those guys were lazy and didn’t show up till the 2nd week of class. They also had free scantrons, and got my graduation stuff from there. Even got my mom a bumper sticker and shirt once.

There isn’t much to say about a college bookstore really. I will say however that the staff that work here are very helpful and friendly. The selection is ok, but they have ran out of stuff before. They have the basic college bookstore items, spirit wear and souvenirs, school supplies and even some candy I think.

With all that space formerly occupied by Eckerd’s, there is a lot of potential. Kudos for competing against the campus bookstore. But what is there to buy here? How about some stuff not related to the university, like used books?
