I was told to show up at noon for my 12:30 appointment. I showed up at noon and was told I wouldn’t be seen until 12:45. I filled out my paperwork and before I even finished filling out my paperwork I was told I would not be seen until 1:15. Unacceptable. Why have me show up 30 minutes early for an appointment only to make me wait an hour and 15 minutes! I took my paperwork and left… There are plenty of other MRI places out there that want my business and will respect my time.

Been here before, was my preferred facility, probably won’t ever go back. Scheduled for 7:30 check-in and at 8:15 front office was still arguing with me that I owed money up front, which I did not. Finally told them to call my insurance company. 15 minutes later came back and said I was right. Didn’t get me back for another 10 minutes. All said and done, left after 9:00& I didn’t have to get dressed. Asked MRI tech to check w me after each test, but only heard from her when almost done then when 1 minute left. Didn’t help when I was in pain and had questions. Not a good experience and like I said, will seek services elsewhere next time. Too bad because they are local and convenient but apparently others feel the same way.

Wait time was over 1 hour. They set your appointment early, then lie about your time when you get there. Their MRI machine is very small, so if your shoulder’s are broad, then don’t waste your time. They don’t tell you anything in advance. Very unprofessional and useless place with only one single small MRI machine. Ask questions in advance!

I recently balled so hard that I tore up my knee(ACL, MCL, meniscus). A couple knee drains, cortisone shots, x-rays, and MRI’s later, I’m finally going to have surgery soon. But I wanted to give my 2 cents on my experience at Preferred Imaging of Richardson. This was my second MRI in 3 months, so I’m directly comparing the two. This place was referred to me by my orthopedic surgeon and it did not disappoint one bit. I knew I had to fork over a little bit of cash to get the scan done, but I wasn’t expecting it to be only 40 bucks. My mind was blown. The staff was extremely friendly, accommodating my expedited appointment since I had just reinjured the knee. I didn’t have insurance information on hand while I was on the phone, but they scheduled me for the next day anyway and told me to contact them when I had the information. Of course I completely forgot later that day, and it wasn’t until after their normal business hours by the time I remembered to give them a call. When i finally did call them the next day(just a couple hours before my appointment), they told me they had already contacted my insurance company and gotten the necessary information. How is that for being proactive? As for the tech and the actual imaging process, he was courteous and wasn’t pushy at all. He even answered all my typical small talk questions(for those who know me, know I like conversing with strangers). Once he got me comfortable on the bed and positioned me inside the machine, he put headphones on me and asked what kind of music I like. Of course, I said hip hop and before I knew it music was playing in my ears. The other imaging center I went to had me lay inside the machine for nearly 60 minutes. This place took 20 minutes. 5 songs and I was done. I was in and out in literally half an hour. The quick procedure PLUS the friendly service PLUS the surprising charge of only $ 40 means this place is getting 5 stars from me. I realize the amount charged will be different according to the insurance you have, but my overall experience with Preferred Imaging was fantastic amidst an utterly terrible situation

They lied to my doctor’s office saying they were in-network and they lied to me about being in-network when I called to confirm appointment! When I came into the office they again said they again said they were in-network but said it would only be $ 1200 for the day out of pocket to meet my deductible! I don’t have a deductible unless it is out of network. The lady at the front desk tried to convince me to go ahead and get the scans and that they wouldn’t bill me today and that they would get it worked out and I didn’t need to worry about it. When I said no because I couldn’t verify that information because it was a Saturday she got angry and threatened to charge me for missing an appointment despite the fact they lied and said they were in-network! I have now confirmed they are not in-network and my insurance company had a record that they informed Preferred Imaging they were in fact out of network! These people are scammers, crooks and cons willing to do anything to get your money! Stay AWAY!

I have mixed thoughts about this review… glad that they are observant and cautious… but really not liking the bruise on my arm. I went here last Thursday for 2 Cat Scans(1 with &1 without contrast by the doctor). They noticed AFTER they had put an IV in my left arm that maybe giving me contrast wasn’t the brightest of ideas. Apparently the percentage of people who are allergic to MRI Contrast is very very very low. The percentage of people who are allergic to the Cat Scan contrast is significantly higher. Their thought process was since I was one of those weirdos allergic to the first type… it probably wasn’t a good idea to even experiment to see if I was allergic to the second. Especially sine I am also deathly allergic to cortico-steroids which would have been their plan of attack if I had a reaction to the contrast. I am extremely appreciative of this kind of thinking… and after they made this decision, my two Cat Scans turned into two MRA’s… one of the head and one of the neck They offered a payment plan, and I was able to go back on Monday and pick up a copy of the CD of the films & my report from the MRA(they would have had it ready for me Friday, but I was out of town). Now… if it were not for the painful bruise on my arm from that IV that was inserted and then not used and removed… maybe I could have given them that 5th star.
