Not super impressed but I guess it wasn’t awful for the price. We got carnitas, steak, chicken, spicy pork, and cow head. The cow head was kind of fatty, the chicken was plain and unseasoned, the carnitas were okay but greasy, the steak had some decent flavor but also fatty, and the spicy pork had the best flavor but not really spicy. The red salsa is bitter so I didn’t have much. The tomatillo was flavorful but too SPICY for this gringo. Not bad overall I suppose but definitely not much to shout about.

Excellent authentic street style tacos, but much bigger. Tacos are two bucks a piece unless you get Chivo, pancita, or tripita those are $ 3. They have a different kind of salsa that’s pretty amazing. The al pastor is kinda fatty but tasty. The bistek is great and my favorite. I had the chivo(goat) taco, never had goat before, kinda weird but it’s probably an acquired taste. Overall great place.

This place recycle side dishes. I visited this place for togo. I ordered and were told to wait about ten minutes. It was pretty late, and there were not that many people. I waited near the tv area right in front of the register. The cashier started cleaning the table where two guys ate at. I was just watching her going to the kitchen. And I couldn’t believe what she did after. She started sorting the left over radish pickles and put some back in the new bowl. Also, she used the same spoon that guys were using to put back sauces, and onions/cilantro in the container. That’s so disgusting I didn’t know what to do. I wanted give her another chance, but she did the same thing again with the other table’s left over. I told my husband what I saw and decided to tell her that we don’t want to eat after seeing what she did. When I told her I saw what you did in the kitchen with the left over, and I want my money back; she acted like she doesn’t speak English at all. I told her that what she did was unsanitary and that’s wrong. While I was talking to her, the guy who looked like the chef came out, and asked her what’s wrong in Spanish. And then she whispered something in Spanish and salsa. He straight up then asked if we want it or not. I said we don’t want it, and we got our money back. She looked so ashamed like she got caught stealing. It’s not just disgusting, but there are so many chances that you can get sick from eating those sauces mixed with multiple people’s saliva. Seriously, don’t play with food.

Cash only but authentic Mexican food and authentic Mexican tortillas. I will be visiting here again, Spanish is preferred here with very little English understood but my goodness is it good! Can’t wait to come back Remember it is cash only

Ive always passed by this place when I shop at Kroger. I wasnt sure if it was worth checking out, but luckily there were a few Unilocalers who gave it positive reviews. The atmosphere is a bit gaudy. The people are nice, but the service is not the best. Even the food a took a little longer than normal. I think I sat there for 20 minutes staring at the salsas on the table. Their tortillas are not the usually corn tortillas. They are bigger ad much softer. I almost thought they were flour as I picked them up. Once you get over the texture difference, these tacos are a real treat! The pastor is delectably sweet and savory. The beef steak had great marinade. The goat was bu far the highlight of the meal. They took a life of their own when it came to flavor. The gaminess of the goat was just the right amount to pack some flavor. My least favorite was the cabeza. The meat was basically cubed fat that didnt render soft enough to dissolve in your mouth. The salsas they offer are definitely spicy! I would say use the sauce lightly until you get use to the burn. These sauces can steal all the thunder of the meat’s flavor if you use too much. The verde sauce was surprisingly way hotter than the rojo. I also like the fact they give you big bowls of cilantro, onions, cucumbers, and limes. I was very pleased with my meal. I had certain tacos in mind, but these far exceeding what I could have imagined. They look dry in pictures but thats far from reality. Make a trip to your bank for some cash and come over for great tacos.

My experience at this restaurant was a bit disappointing. Whomever is in charge of this staff needs to really think of doing something else. I’m usually not a person that judges a restaurant based on looks since most of the times the food is what makes the restaurant. Right?! Note: This restaurant ONLY takes cash Note: I came to the restaurant twice on the same day,(lunch, and dinner), since we were working on all day project that kept us at the office most of the day. On both of my visits, the smell at the restaurant was BAD. As if the person that’s in charge of mopping the floors was reusing the same water from a week ago. Man, it smelled really bad. I was hoping that it was a one time thing when I came during the lunch hour… but, it wasn’t the case. I came close to leaving… but, the coworkers decided to give this place another chance regardless of the smell. Just in case you’re wondering what brought me back, the homemade tortillas that this place does for their tacos, and their freshly made salsas are very good. And the portions are huge too… wow, I couldn’t believe the size of the tacos, and quesadillas. This place is definitely a place for eating big portions for a cheap price. The flavors of the food are a bit hit, and miss. At times, the food had the can food taste… man, it was a bit disappointing. If it wasn’t for the awesome homemade tortillas that this place makes… I would have been giving this restaurant a Two Star rating. I would NOT recommend this restaurant for good street style tacos… but as a big bang for your buck restaurant only.

It is cash only so come prepared so you don’t have to run over to the atm that’s in the parking lot. They also only speak Spanish so brush up on your lessons, luckily That wasn’t an issue but I could see it being an issue for people with little to no Spanish skills. The steak street tacos were delicious, and they have bottled comes from Mexico which are the best because they have real sugar and they have horchata which tasted great and really fresh. They also have tons of Mexican candy at the register so you can pig out on even more deliciousness.

Great food and huge portions. Make sure to know your Spanish when you go and enough cash to cover.

The food here is very good! The tacos super, and the prices are not too bad. This is the type of place you want to go if you want real Mexican food(central México). The only thing I’m not too crazy about is their salsas, they’re a little bit different. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because is a CASHONLY place. Other than that, this place is a must try.

This food is amazing. Worst thing about this place is they don’t take credit cards and the menu isn’t in English also but I don’t mind looking up words I don’t know. I would come here almost every day if they took credit cards

Taqueria Candelaria has the best Horchata and really good tacos. I tried the steak and the spicy pork(al pastor). The spicy pork tasted a lot better than the the steak. On the menu it says they have cow head and weird animal parts as the meat. Didn’t try nor will I try any of them. The tacos are homemade corn tacos that is about the size of your hand. It also comes with cilantro green mix, radish and two different types of sauces. One of the sauces is green and I warn you to stay away from the green sauce because it is made with habanero peppers. The other sauce isn’t as spicy but still has it’s kick. Location is next to Kroger’s and a thrift store.

Very good cash only taqueria in the same shopping center as Kroger’s. Homemade tortillas, great al pastor, menus in English and Spanish, waitresses nabla poquito English, and a task but truely dangerous green sauce that BURNS so watch out.

Been here once and it was terrible. Huge portions of terrible food. The chicken in my torta had no flavor and looked like it had been boiled. I did not see any sign of seasoning.

Wow the food here was amazing, super fresh and it taste home made just like my mom and aunts cooking. I had the bistek huarache and it was huge and so delicious. My son had the Al pastor tacos which were huge and so deliciously fresh with fresh not canned pineapple and grilled onions. Sooo good, big portions and decent prices. The place was very clean, service wasn’t all that but as long as our food came out on time and fresh and our drinks were being filled who cares. Anyway would recommend if your are craving some Mexican home style food. One last thing they are a cash only place.

Their food is great, service sucks! I have been here twice enjoyed the food but too bad their service sucks! Both times I walked in here I have stood there for a minute just getting stared down at like I’m some alien from another planet. They won’t sit you down so just grab a table. Theyre waitresses seem a bit ditzy like they woke up on the wrong side of the bed but at least they got my order right lol. This place isn’t too welcoming by their staff but if you can ignore their existence at least till you get your food served then by all means TRYIT! Fresh made tortillas, huge tacos and huge torta. By the way CASHONLY make sure you remember what you order or they’ll add an extra to your bill. They’ll also remind you for the tip(so professional, I know…) and even have it handwritten on notebook paper thats taped to the walls«reminding» you to tip. Lol! OHANDTHEYCHARGEFORREFILLS!

Some of the best tacos al pastor I’ve ever had! Hand made tortillas and lots of meat! And both salsas red and green are delicious as well!

One thing can make such a huge difference. With tacquerias all over this area it becomes difficult to stand out. Tacqueria la candaleria does it simply with quality ingredients and handmade tortillas They had me at handmade tortillas but the meats inside those wonderful tortillas are also sublime. I tried the well seasoned pastor the tender bistec and the nicely rich carnitas. The tacos are accompanied by cilantro, onion, sliced radishes and two different salsas. This place is worth the drive to Richardson. Stop and get cash no credit cards accepted

The tortilla taste like homemade The size is bigger than an average taco here in the states It is true that there are not a lot of sides to eat with the taco, but if you want a really good taco. Don’t go anywhere.

Monster tacos for poquito dinero. I got 2 de pastor, and 2 de bistec. Large meat portion in each taco, the homemade tortillas are delicious. The green salsa is Hot! Its moderate heat, probably to most people. I got them to go, so i got a bag of the cilantro, onion, lime. Again, more than enough. Once you put some green salsa, onion, cilantro, and squeeze the lime on, it is just perfect. A $ 7.50 lunch for 2 that can’t be beat! Ill be back to try the tortas.

Not the best but definitely not the worse. I would not try again. The green hot sauce was great though if you like your hot sauce hot. Did not care much for the red. It was super smokey. I had the head meat the Chivo(goat) and something else. The head meat was OK the rest lacked freshness. Pros: Green hot sauce and fresh homemade corn tortillas and freshly cut cilantro and onion mix. Cons: Meat freshness, bland chicken not flavorful.
