Loved the steamed sea bass with lime and chilli. The fried banana dessert was just right.

Went here Friday nite with whole family based on recommendation from tennis buddy. From the Edamame appetizer to the 5 entrees we had there wasn’t anything close to a «miss». Food was tasty, meat was lean, proportions were generous, service and atmosphere very nice. As a side note, we arrived at 6, ALL tables had reserved cards on them. However one of the large tables wasn’t reserved til 7 and the manager let us have it. There was no pressure for us to hurry nor was it needed. The entrees came out very quickly. Another note, medium heat was pretty freekin hot. I got my sweat on about 5 minutes after digging into my entrée and it lasted a good 15 minutes. Frame of reference for this review were maybe a hundred meals at Thai Pan, Noodle Wave, and Samuii(sp?) in the metroplex plus a random joint here and there on the road. Highly recommended and easy access to Dallas and its suburbs(20 minutes from our home in West Allen).

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to have found this hidden treasure. Being from the northeast, I am pretty picky when it comes to Asian cuisine but I must say this was the best Thai experience I have had in Dallas. Great ambience, amazing food and friendly staff. For starters we got the shrimp cakes given the previous reviews. Shrimp was well cooked but personally I thought it could have used some more flavor. Hubby got the drunken noodle. Noodles were soft, meat was perfectly tender, generous portions of vegetables and at medium spicy, it was spicy enough for our taste without going overboard. I had the grilled chicken with papaya salad. Again, a stellar flavorful and hearty dish. To finish off our delicious lunch, we ordered the mango ice cream with sticky rice. I must say I have been to many a Thai spot around the country and this was by far one of my favorite versions of mango with sticky rice. We will certainly be visiting again soon! Glad to have finally found a great Thai spot in Dallas.

Thai’s Thumbz is a Thai Restaurant in Richardson along George Bush. You’ll get quality Thai food here and it’s BYOB. Many good Thai choices in the DFW. Thai Thumbz is a good option if you live in the area. My Overall Rating — 2 ½ Stars(Atmosphere, Food, Return) Atmosphere — You’ll find Thai Thumbz along Jupiter in a nice shopping strip. It’s a small, quaint space that was packed on our visit. Reservations recommended in case you’re wanting to visit on a weekend. Lots of patrons take advantage of the BYOB policy. Not sure if there is a charge for bottle service but I’m sure it helps bring in people. Nice décor but nothing memorable. ½ Star. Service — On our visit the service was just ok. Apparently the server who took our order doesn’t bring out the food. They have food runners/staff for that but they weren’t in sync in our visit. Our food took a long time to come out, and they seemed indifferent about clearing plates. The result? We had many of empty plates that remained after the food(even delayed dishes) came out. No Stars. Food — I’m a Pad Woon Sen fan, and Thai Thumbz did a great job. Plenty of glass noodles with a good mix of egg, fresh veggies, and tofu(you can order any protein). The egg rolls were nice & crispy, but the wrapper a bit thick for my tastes. No complaints on the Tom Yum soup, and the fried rice and drunken noodles were good. Now, I didn’t get a chance to order from the«Two Thumbz Up» menu, but there appear to be some excellent options(sea bass). The only major let down was the vanilla ice cream. I may have caved & let my kids order it but it didn’t taste right. I’d stick with the sticky rice next time. Overall a solid meal. 1 Star. Will I Return? — Yes. The lunch menu shows lots of value & the«Two Thumbz Up» menu is on my radar. While I’m not always in the area, I can see myself easily coming back. Just hope the service is better. 1 Star. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five-star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score.

Crab cheese was ok, have had better. Lunch special with soup n salad, both ok. Pad prik, spicy with brown rice was good. Fried banana n coconut ice cream was disappointing

The food itself was good. The prices were pretty high for the area and a bit of a deterrent. Dinner with a coke is about $ 20/person after taxes. I liked the food but I’d rather pay less to go somewhere else.

This place is a hidden gem! Probably the best Thai food I’ve had in the past decade. Try the Mom’s special beef, the Thai Pork and the Drunken Noodle. Oh, and it’s BYOB! The waiter who served us was amazingly helpful and friendly(ask for him when you go, his name is, «Oh» and tell him the folks from Hawaii said he’s the MAN!

I LOVETHISPLACE! It has surpassed my long-time favorite Thai restaurant in Dallas(hint: east Dallas, two words). We had so many dishes that I won’t describe each but will say that you should spend all of your effort on the main dishes(you’re okay to skip the appetizers — we had at least 4 of them but thought the entrees were much better). Our favorites in no particular order: 1) Chicken Pad Thai 2) Chicken Pad See Ew 3) Red Curry 4) Crab Fried Rice 5) Papaya salad 6) A fried fish special was really delicious, super spicy made of a fish I hadn’t eaten before but they mentioned it related to seabass(not sure of the dish name) 7) Scallops — the thought of the seasonings they top it with is making me drool… I give my word that the food alone is enough to make this 5-stars. Then, consider it’s BYOB and it’s a very good bonus: D

Great food — had the salmon and it was spot on. Medium spicy was perfect for me and I like spicy food — one star less because it took a while for our food to come out but it was a Friday night. Would come here again forsure!

Drunken noodles and the Chilean seabass are hands down my favorite! Love that it’s byob and it usually can accommodate big parties. Most Asian places don’t have good service but this place is different! A family favorite for us!

I’d like to give 5 stars but only 2 things that took another star away. 1. the sign was difficult to see with the threes in the front hiding it both side and 2. the service was just ok. May be my expectation was too high. We went in late evening. May be she was too tired. So she forgot to smile. Price wasn’t bad. The taste of food was DELICIOUS-send this message to the chef. Lots of parking. They seem very busy even though they are located in the back. Over all not bad experiences and I will come back for my duck salad :-)

I have been here 3 times within the last month and a half. My first visit was by far the best in regards to both food and service. I ordered the Pad Thai with medium spiciness and it was one of the best pad thai’s I had in a long time. The next time, I got the Drunken Noodle and Crab Fried Rice, but they were very salty, especially the noodles. I was disappointed, but decided to go back a third time. This time, I ordered the Pad Thai again along with Crispy Egg Rolls and Fried Tofu to share. We all enjoyed the appetizers, but the Pad Thai was way too spicy, although I asked for medium spiciness. I hope they become more consistent with their food.

The hype is the decoration and location I guess. My pregnant friend craved Thai food so I accompanied her here. The lunch combo is $ 10 with tofu or chicken soup and ginger or peanut salad. We got Drunken Noodle and the Basil Chicken that my friend was craving. Neither were spicy and I don’t really eat spicy, however, both were super salty. I would say the salad and soup were the best part of the meal.

First time here Friday night and I can’t wait to go back. The food was great! I ordered the beef drunken noodles and my brother had the beef pad thai. I definitely recommend these dishes. We also shared a shrimp tom kha. We both got our dishes medium spicy, which might have been a tad too spicy, but now we know and we can just do mild next time. It’s BYOB so you can bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with your dinner!

This place is the real deal, y’all. Authentic Thai food. Thai’s Thumbz ties with Banana Leaf for my favorite Thai restaurant but I lean more towards Thai’s Thumbz because it’s much closer to me. It’s located in a pretty nice area — the nicer end of Richardson off the freeway. You can’t go wrong with anything you order. The crab cream cheese rolls are a pretty good appetizer — it’s not as heavy on the cream cheese or as greasy as other Thai places which I definitely like. The green curry and drunken noodles are my staples here. When you order the highest level of spice like I do — OMG level — they put actual spicy chili peppers into the curry. Yum. If you want your spice level to exceed OMG level, they’re more than happy to give you a side of fresh chili peppers. The green curry is just creamy enough and extremely satisfying. You can also get it with brown rice at no extra charge. The drunken noodles dish, aka pad kee mow, is spot on. The flavor is just right. Chicken is never dry and beef is always tender. Service is also excellent.

In town for business and gave this a try for lunch today. They were fairly busy and we had a 5 min wait to be seated. Entrees came in 35 mins. Excellent service, atmosphere and the food was on point. My coworker and I both got the Thumbz fried rice, one order with tofu and the other with chicken. Fantastic quality. They have bottled water on the menu, which I really appreciate as I’m not a huge fan of tap water. As someone who’s well versed in Thai cuisine, I’ll say this is place has it down.

I have found my new favorite Thai spot. This place has been on my list of places to try for quite some time and did not disappoint. We started with the shrimp cakes which were nice and crunchy on the outside with a good shrimp flavor on the interior. For the entrees, we got drunken noodles with beef, chicken, and shrimp along with the chicken thighs with papaya salad and sticky rice. Both exceeded our expectations. The proteins in the drunken noodles were very tender and melt in your mouth. Same can be said for the chicken thighs(although the skin was not as crispy as I prefer). The papaya salad had a good lime-y flavor and is some of the best that I’ve had. Lastly, we ordered a Thai tea because the one that the table next to us ordered looked so good. I’m not a Thai tea expert and don’t drink it often, but I couldn’t get enough of it. The whole experience was great from the food to the quality of service. If I had one criticism of this place, it would be that the décor is lacking a bit. Other than that, I would definitely recommend!

After all of the reviews and friends posting pictures of this place, I had to try it. This is definitely one of my top Thai restaurants as it did not disappoint! Thai Thumbz is a little more expensive than your average Thai Restaurant but completely worth it. I would recommend their sticky rice with chicken and papaya salad combo(ask for the papaya salad on the side so it doesn’t make your food soggy). In addition, my friends and I ordered their specialty whole fish.

Hard to classify this place. The facility and ambiance are upscale, which means high rent, which means high prices. I don’t mine paying more for amazing food and service, but the food was so-so and the service lackluster. We ordered Thai tea, which was premixed and way too sweet. Most authentic Thai places brew their own tea and set the cream or half-n-half on top, but this one came with condensed milk floating on top. We ordered Pad Kee Mao with chicken at level 3(regular hot) and level 4(Thai hot). I would classify those levels as mild-medium for level 3 and medium for level 4. At least the flavor was pretty good. The soup and salad that came with the Kee Mao were not great. The serving was very small and the dressing was toooo sweet and barely a drizzle on there too, lol. The Tom Yum soup had granules of chicken bouillon on the bottom of the bowl, which made it way too MSG-y. The server was pretty cold and terse. He was a young, college age dude and I think we were bothering him by being in the restaurant, lol. At least he could make his hair stand up like Dragonball Z. I don’t think he was Thai, maybe Korean. At least my Korean wife thought he looked Korean. Later on a Thai lady came and bused our table while we were still eating and she was terse as well, so I don’t know what to think. I am Thai, and Thai are some of the most warm and genuine people around, but maybe we caught these folks on a bad day. They seemed happy when back in the kitchen. Based on Unilocal reviews, we came here, but I don’t think we will be back.

DALLAS, TX: Absolutely marvelous Thai food experience. Truly superlative cuisine. I tried a few dishes: Pad Thai(5+ stars): Best I’ve had. Period. Flavorful, firm, perfectly coated and marinated noodles, lovely presentation, generous portion. Medium spice was a little strong(eyes watered just a bit), but not enough to ruin the experience. Yellow Curry(5 stars): Flavorful, very spicy, delicious rice. Dumplings(4 stars): Delicious, great for sharing, not spicy Mango Ice Cream/Sticky Rice(5 stars): The ice cream was so good I didn’t miss the actual mango at all. Amazing. Could use a few tweaks on timing of bringing out the plates(we had four in our company, they brought out two dishes, waited 4 – 5 minutes then brought out another dish, then waited 3 – 4 minutes and brought out the last dish(?)).
