Great place to get breakfast. The staff are always friendly and attentive, and the food is great. If you want a down home meal, go to the house café.

This place has such a great atmosphere. Home cooking style food. A great neighborhood restaurant. The migas with corn tortillas was delicious. Great coffee, great service. Busy Sunday morning, but still got in and out. If you’re looking for a nice morning breakfast this is the place to go! Definitely will be back! Tony the server was friendly and attentive. Thanks a lot for the great service and excellent food!

Forgot why I stopped coming here. They cleaned up the place, new tables & chairs, but unfortunately all new wait staff and new approach to food. Used to be packed with regulars and friendly conversations. Last 2 visits were a very empty place with no one greeting anyone by name. Portions smaller, no healthy options instead of potatoes(can get tomatoes or fruit but you pay through the nose). Ordered eggs with hamburger patty, but they forgot the eggs. Hmmmm. A breakfast place? So now everything gets cold waiting for eggs. Now I remember why I don’t come here. Hope I remember before I walk through the door again.

Love this tiny place! Great traditional breakfast choices that have never disappointed. The price point is perfect as well. Oh and ask for the salsa to go with the eggs, it’s warmed and is the perfect condiment.

This place is located in an industrial area! You can easily drive by and miss it! I ordered the #10 which was 2 scrambled eggs with ground beef and cheese, country potatoes, and toast. The potatoes and toast were good but my scrambled eggs were very bland and COLD! I don’t understand how it had time to get so cold because our food came out quick. I’m thinking the ingredients used to make the eggs were frozen and weren’t heated up properly :/My husband ordered pancakes and hash browns which were good. The overall service was okay.

I don’t know how this place is always packed. It’s dirty and dingy and the last time I went I ordered tortilla soup. It looked more like yesterday’s leftover vegetable soup with chicken added to it. I requested sliced avocado on the side and they brought out brown avocado. I told the server that it was bad and she said well that’s all we have. I asked her to take it back and remove it from my order. I just couldn’t believe they actually brought it out like that.

Okay but not great if you know how to cook. I suck at making french toast at home so that’s my go to for any breakfast place… and this french toast is blaaaaaand. Not soggy thankfully but also has zero flavor. The egg scrambles can all be made at home. Unorganized staff but friendly. Not enough A/C for the crowd. It’s like a diner that you need an AARP card to enjoy.

Fantastic breakfast place. What it is doing in the middle of a light industrial park I have no idea. I would want this place in my neighborhood — preferably a block from my house. Great biscuits. Huge servings of fine versions of the breakfast standards. A more than respectable huevos rancheros (establishing once and for all this dish is now texas-standard food and not just mexican food) One note — this is one of the few places I have seen in Texas that offers liver and onions and eggs as a breakfast dish. Another confirmation of the fundamental rule that if a kitchen offers alt-meats on the menu, the whole kitchen tends to be good. A fine establishment.

The best place for a good olé’ country breakfast. The waitresses are very nice and fast and the food is good. The atmosphere feels like you’re in grandma’s house.

Only gave 4 stars because of the restaurant layout. It is a bit odd. When you enter a restaurant you expect to find a counter with the cashier and hostess. Well when you enter this restaurant you run into tables and booths of people eating. Felt super bad to pass by their tables while they were eating. Food was cooked super fast. I phoned ahead and ordered 2 eggs scrambled, ham, hash browns and biscuits and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. Which it was. I loved the eggs and the biscuits were to die for! The hash browns were OK and the ham was bad! Salty and oily. It was definitely not ham off the bone. I think it probably came from a can. Over all it was good and I will be back. I just won’t order the ham.

Great place for breakfast or brunch. Service is friendly and food is good. It’s also pocket friendly. If you don’t leave here full you have issues or a very huge stomach.

The epic search for the perfect hash browns has ended at The Happy Café. Personally, I like them crunchy and brown(it says they’re supposed to be right in the name!) and I was not disappointed. My server was sweet and efficient. She took the time to answer my questions and was just the right amount of attentive. My omelette was okay… I built my own with bacon, cheese, tomato and onion. Nothing about it was light or fluffy — but the accompanying salsa complemented it nicely. Probably should’ve ordered a biscuit & gravy but I didn’t want to go overboard. Overall, for a Saturday morning around 9, it was hopping! I didn’t have to wait too long for a table and the one thing I like to see at diners is old people(that’s how you know it’s good) — I wasn’t disappointed.

This place is always packed, but the service is awesome. There’s barely any wait time for your food and it taste great! Prices are pretty good for some homecooked breakfast. Definitely go here again if I had the chance.

I stopped here on a fluke while running an errand. I’ll probably never come here again since my visit was sporadic and accidental. The staff is fast and you are seated and fed quickly. My waitress, while not super friendly, was adorable and consistent. She made sure I had everything I needed and never missed a beat. My hash browns were a tad bit overcooked, but everything else was on point and yum-yum-yummy. If this place were on the«beaten-path», I would come here often for a quick bite to eat.

This was my favorite café in the area for a long time. Food wasn’t hot. Help was dazed and confused, ok, it was her first day on the job. Biscuits were not fresh. Nothing was as good as it usually is. This place, for me, has for many years been consistently, extremely good. I’m really hoping they were just having a rare, off day.

I saw the reviews and wanted to try something different from my normal breakfast joint — so in we go. The place was crowded but we were wondering around aimlessly waiting find looking for someone to seat us. A customer on his way to pay his bill(pay after you eat) was kind enough to show us where to prop up for service. Eventually we were greeted and seated in a booth with torn cushions. The floor was dirty and there was some dropped food no one bothered to clean up. That should have been the first sign of things to come. There were many BF items that were only $ 5.95. After seeing some pics, I decided on the #10(ground beef/scrambled eggs) and my date got #3(waffle/eggs). We ordered coffee but it wasn’t as good as everyone described. It looked like a bus boy/food runner brought the food out. It was not the original girl who took our order. It did come out in a quick manner and I was ready to dig in! Our waitress eventually came to refill our coffee but never asked how the food looked or tasted. I was immediately disappointed because it was cold. My biscuits and gravy on another plate was hot, but both of our main items were almost below room temperature. When I finally got her attention, she took my plate to the kitchen where they nuked it(with the small bowl of salsa as-well!). The hash browns(from a box, not fresh) were sitting in a lake of butter at the bottom. The eggs and ground beef was very bland. My addition of salt and pepper couldn’t help it’s flavor profile out. Even when we checked out, the register lady that brought my reheated meal out(not my server) — didn’t ask how our meal was or if we enjoyed it. If any of the staff would have, they would have known I was not all that enthralled. I tried hard to enjoy this place, but I simply could not. Summary — If you want low grade food, and cheap prices, come here. If you want good service, better ingredients and a happier experience, go somewhere else.

I came here after reading the reviews. My wife and I had breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. The flavor and portions were awesome and the coffee was superb. Excellent food at a great price. The best part was the service. Our waitress was sweet, intelligent and attentive. She is a college student studying hotel and restaurant management. I’m sure one day she will own a business. They are lucky to have her. Service is what I most appreciate. Overall I rate them five stars.
