First, let me say that we never have it delivered. Only take out or eat there. And I time my take out order so that when I pick it up it is hot out of the kitchen, and we always get the Family Dinner Special. Second, we stick to a few items: mooshi, happy family, egg foo young, a couple of almond/snow pea dishes, and recently one of their lamb dishes. For us it has been consistently good, for years. But now I hear there is a new owner or something, and dissatisfaction mainly with delivery orders. So I am definitely planning to get their food again for a «check in» and see if anything has changed for what we order.

We’re so happy we found Tongs! I wasn’t a fan of the Chinese options we had in this neighborhood. Luckily we found Tongs and have been happy customers ever since!

Sometimes you gotta trust your instinct. The exterior of the place appeared a little run down and there were no customers in the restaurant but I still decided to give it a try. Bad decision. I ordered the combination fried rice and although they give you a hefty amount of food, the rice was slightly mushy and the all of the meat/protein was a little undercooked. Never coming here again.

I have had several decent meals here until recently. Ordered the Lemon Chicken and when I bit into the chicken it was all gristle. So I ate the fried rice but couldn’t eat the chicken. I then threw the chicken into the disposal and there was so much gristle, the disposal couldn’t grind it up. The restaurant should have know this because the chicken had to be cut into strips… and yet they still served it to us. I will NOT eat with them again… I’ll drive from North Dallas to Carrollton to eat with Iron Wok which is outstanding!

It’s been in the neighborhood for years. The people there are super friendly, and the chef is a true Asian cook. Everything there is good, but you MUST eat there. I’ve done takeout a couple of times, and the flavor didn’t seem to be the same.

I’ve had the general tso which is supposed to b spicy and it had absolutely no spice to it. Flavor was good. The next time I ordered the orange chicken which is also supposed to b spicy. I specifically told them that my last order had no spice and to turn up the heat. Apparently, their English isn’t good enough because it was the same. It was also bland and had no real orange flavor.

My favorite Chinese place in Richardson. The wonton soup is probably the best I’ve ever tasted. The inside is really small and not too fancy but the food is amazing. Check them out, they have plenty of food options to choose from and the price is more than affordable!

I wish I had found this place much sooner! The service was quick & friendly, and you can’t beat the prices! The hot & sour soup was flavorful and had just the right amount of spice, and the meal portions are definitely generous enough to share or take home leftovers. I had the happy family, and it was a good mix. My friend had egg drop soup, then beef with broccoli and was pleased with the flavor as well. They are nearby, so I’ve just found my new favorite Chinese place — will definitely be calling for delivery soon…

Good stuff… It has been here for years and I just got around to trying it. Their egg drop soup is among the best I have had, and for only 1.50 it is a bargain. The egg rolls are delicious, light and crispy. Once again, at only 1.00 a piece, a bargain. I have now tried the orange chicken, the sesame shrimp, and the chicken and shrimp house special… all three were great and the serving size of each was adequate for two meals. I highly recommend them.

Order arrived fast and hot and prices were great. That said, it tasted like buffet or airport Chinese. We had TONS left over and threw it away, didn’t even save it for leftovers! We wanted to like it, but food was not good quality.

I have been here a few times and found the food and service to be consistently good. I for one rather like the trow-back atmosphere of traditional Chinese restaurants. The food is always piping hot with generous portions. The lunch prices leave me feeling guilty — I usually compensate with a generous tip.

This chinese restaurant has been at this location for a great many years. It is a small neighborhood chinese restaurant with the usual chinese menu. We ordered lunch here yesterday. I ordered the beef and green peppers with white rice and hot and sour soup. The soup was actually very good. Flavorable and hot and spicy just like I like. The beef and green peppers were okay but not anything special. There were a lot of green peppers on the plate and the peppers were not as crisp as I would like and the beef while have a dark brown sauce was good it was lacking something. Finished with a fortune cookie. My spouce had the chicken and cashews and that dish was also without anything special when it came to the sauce and flavor. There was lots of white chicken on the plate. She had the wonton soup whcih was good but not outstanding. We both had an egg roll. We have good lunch just not one that one would rememebr for a long time. The service here is excellent and appears to be a family operation. There is a small bar in the back. Some people came by for take out service.

I don’t understand Tong’s Unilocal rating. When the hubby and I moved to Richardson, we ordered delivery from a Chinese place on Custer. I think because they left menus on our door. Eventually the food from that other restaurant forced us to look for other delivery. Tong’s Unilocal rating was the same, but we tried them anyway. It was yummy! And fresh! We’ve ordered a half dozen times at this point. I get chicken with snow peas. My husband orders the lo mien. We’re so pleased to have found Tong’s and will continue to order from them going forward. Just wish we’d found them sooner!

2÷4÷15 yesterday I got two take out dinners at Tongs House. Both were awful. The beef of the beef broccoli was tough & full of gristle. The chicken, shrimp & vegetable combination was bland, with no spices or flavor whatsoever.

My favorite take out Chinese in Richardson! Delivery is always fast and the food is always hot. My wife and I get the family dinner special, which is soup, rice, entrée, and egg roll — with tip you are at about $ 20! We have never eaten inside the restaurant, so can’t comment there, but if you are looking for solid Chinese take out, Tong’s will do you right.

the? «winner» of my chinesefood search(tried eggroll express, sam’s wok) «Dumpling» — is like a fried potsticker, but taste worse than Costco ones Mongolian beef slices were almost tender, but flavor not like California style flavor and taste like spicy hot pepper flavor no other flavor i can taste. Chicken Noodle— was a box full of noodle, there were very few pieces of chicken that didnt have much taste. Noodle was SALTY and tasted like FOOT when hot, when cold it was only SALTY no more foot flavor. Beef Flat Noodle— was the almost«winner» so far, noodle was flavored nicely, but the beef slices although almost tender had NOFLAVOR. Sesame chicken— it looked like it but chicken had NOFLAVOR… the breading was sweet, stale-bread texture, NOTCRISPY.

Cheap, Cheap, Cheap and fairly good for the price. Service is good and food is always STEAMINGHOT when it gets to the table. I probably wouldn’t visit this place if it wasn’t so close to work, but I’m glad its there and cost effective.

Food: 9⁄10 — Very, very tasty food, especially the classics like Sesame Chicken! Portion: 10⁄10 — I(a big eater) can barely finish a whole entrée for a meal, and then I am stuffed. Typically portions here are enough for 1.5 people. Cost: 4⁄10 — For the type of restaurant, prices are a bit steep. Expect to pay $ 10 – 12 for an entrée after taxes and tip. The best time to eat is for dinner as their dinner special is great(two entrees, egg rolls, and soup for about $ 18 after tax). Atmosphere /Service: 4⁄10 — It’s a nice family-owned place, but keep in mind that their english isn’t the best and sometimes their dialects make it hard to understand them. Also, I usually get take-out as there usually isn’t more than 2 – 4 people dining in and with no music/ambiance it can get a little awkward. Total: 27⁄40 — 3.4÷5 — Overall, a pretty good restaurant with great food and somewhat-okay prices.
