We had lunch special and we enjoyed it. The restaurant is very clean. The lunch menu is quite delicious and great portion. For $ 7.00 you will have soup, options of white or fried rice, chicken wings or egg rolls(and both as simply delicious), main dish. I can see that we will be a regular customer.

This place is delicious. I love the beef and broccoli. I also enjoy the tv they have. Just a great atmosphere with prices that are seasonable.

Service was great! It was a quiet and clean restaurant. Taste of the food was delicious. The scallops weren’t cooked enough and still tasted fishy. The shrimp, vegetables and sauce were perfect though. The portion was very small for a House Delight at $ 15.99. Never the less, I finished my entrée. For the most part, I enjoyed my visit. I would stop by again maybe once or twice a year.

I would give it four stars — but the food is more like Chinese American. The service at lunch was fast and cordial. They have a lunch special for about $ 8.00 — soup — egg roll, and an entrée. The egg roll was great: hot and not greasy. The entrée I had was Kung Pao chicken — a generous portion. There was too much sauce, it was too sweet, it was not ‘spicy’ in the least, the peanuts seemed a little raw.

I was driving by and stopped by to place an order of Orange Chicken to go. The women at the front counter told me it would take about 15 minutes to prepare so I stepped outside to make a phone call(about 5 minutes). I re-entered and continued to stand in the waiting area as all of the seating was occupied. After a couple of minutes the same women that I had placed my order with made eye contact with me and asked«what did you order again?, Oh that’s right Orange Chicken. I’ll go check on it» Being a fairly tall guy and the fact that I was standing, I was able to see through the window in the door into the kitchen. She opened a refrigerator and removed a large bucket, [the Orange Chicken] and scooped out a couple of clumps, placed in on a plate and put it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. She then took it out boxed it, bagged it and brought it out to me. I still went ahead and purchased it. When I got home and ate it I found it chewy. Rather then returning it I just decided to seek my Orange Chicken elsewhere. You can still eat there but it’s probably cheaper to buy a frozen meal and microwave it on your own.

This was a real treat. Truly outstanding meal that fed 2 and we have enough leftovers for lunch for 2. $ 22 for it all. We will be back.

I was generally surprised to find this Chinese restaurant in Minnesota… the food was great … we have appetizers of potstickers and two lunch specials: sesame chicken and orange chicken… the food was delicious, well seasoned and the waitress Marsha was super tentative… definitely recommend

nope. its either bland or too salty/oily with this place. tried just about everything on the menu. not even the chicken wings are worth a try. if you’ve read good reviews, its probably from people who have never had a real chinese food

Gross cold and slow! My kung pao rooftop raised pigeon tasted like melted tire rubber. It is way too salty. And not one god damn pepper! hello?! Also, their week old soup is nasty. Don’t go here! Try Chin Chin in Mendota Heights. They are authentic, fresh, and punctual.

Before I start, I just want to give a shout out to whoever was in charge of the music selection that night I was there. Bryan Adams, 999 Roses, K-drama music, Cambodian pop music. If you’re out there reading this and wondering what people think then let me say that I get you, and we should totally hang out. Do you lift? Wanna’ get a beer? I’m down for anything, ‘sup? Anyways, the restaurant is still advertised as «Chinese» food, but it’s now owned by very nice Cambodian people and they’ve introduced a few South East Asian dishes. The phở here is delicious, in my opinion, the broth has full flavor. Ask for sriracha, hoison, and garlic chili on the side. Actually, just tell them to bring out the bottles otherwise they’ll give you about a small spoonful on a plate. I like my phở extremely spicy so by the time I’m done adding condiments in it’ll look so red and spicy you’d think I was committing suicide. What will keep me coming back here instead of going to Kimson though is the fact that they serve papaya salad and laab. I love these two dishes and they make both very well. Now I won’t have to travel all the way to St. Paul for it. Correction: they don’t have laab, but they do have papaya and warm smiles.

5 Stars for Food quality and taste. 5 Stars for quantity. 5 Stars for service and reception. 4 Stars for ambiance and silverware. 4 Stars for the wait. Every time I move to a new state I desperately look for my go-to Chinese place. I’m glad I found Red Pepper. The food tastes awesome and the quantity is very generous. My favorite dinner dish is Chicken Mai Fun. The dinner combos are a good way to try this restaurant without burning your wallet. I have tried their Sesame, Orange and General Tao’s Chicken combos. I would recommend the Orange chicken for sure. :) Lunch combos are cheaper with smaller portions but the wait isn’t worth it if you have to get back to work. ;) The staff are very friendly and polite. These days I just place my order over the phone for a pick up. It’s more convenient for Friday late nights. :)

Pleasant surprise. We had not been here in quite some time and there were new owners. It need features Vietnamese and Cambodian along with Chinese. We had one of our old favorites, egg foo yung. It was as good as we remembered and the service was even better! Not too mention, the egg rolls and cream cheese wraps were very good.

Very slow service. Walked in and and it took a while for someone to come and help us even though they had many open tables. Other people were getting irritated. They were very understaffed. They were also very slow to serve us after we sat down. I must say though that the food was very good/flavorful and they had huge portions so I would definitely give this place another shot.

I’ve been a fan of Red Pepper for sometime now and been a frequent patron over the past few years when in the area. Today I was able to go in for lunch and had a A+++ experience with food and Service. Both servers checked to make sure my food was good and kept my drinks filled. Food was hot when served and portions were more than enough for lunch. Great experience overall.

Over ten years ago, I lived nearby and this was our favorite Chinese place … especially the Pecan Chicken. I have since moved away, but was recently back to visit family and had some time to kill, so decided to check them out again. Sadly, no Pecan Chicken! However, the Kung Pao family ordered by my husband was still very good. I ordered Pad Thai noodles with chicken. The sauce was lighter, less peanuty and almost bland, just barely saved by the cilantro. The chicken was very moist and tender. Since there was a ton of Pad Thai, I had some for lunch the next day and was pleasantly surprised to find it was tastier having sat overnight. It’s a shame they no longer have the Pecan Chicken though, that was the best.

LOVEIT! We love Red Pepper. We usually get take-out because we live close. Sue, who usually answers the telephone is always nice and fun to talk to. They are very nice when we pick up our order. The food is delicious. Sesame Beef, Beef Chow Fun, Shrimp & Broccoli, etc… it’s ALL good. Everyone that I introduce to this place absolutely love it. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

We live next to Great Wall, and although I think their food is pretty good, it’s always been hard to justify their prices. So we tried Red Pepper Chinese restaurant, and now have been back 3 times. The restaurant is pretty basic, but clean, kid-friendly, and good service. The food is maybe a slight step down from the above mentioned, but still better than your typical American Chinese restaurant. Oh yeah and it costs about half as much. Definitely our go-to for chinese when we are in the mood, and well worth the extra 5 minute drive!
