Absolutely delicious breakfast. I get the cheese curd and ham omelet everytime I visit. Baked au gratin potatoes are yummy too. The waitresses are hit or miss. Just seem to be inexperienced, but that doesn’t take away from the magnificent food. The owner Randi really shows pride in his food and it shows. This is definitely a place I will continue to frequent for years to come.

I’m a traveler and this is a Great place for lunch… Read the other three reviews so was worried about the food, and l ordered the Club add Bacon and Fries, and was delicious! I’m definitely coming here again. Servers were super nice and food came fast and tasted/looked good.

Empire Grill looked like a cute diner/café. The food was mediocre or worse. The chicken salad was like eating a miracle whip sandwich on mushy bread. The service was fine, if a bit slow. Overall, I do not recommend for a satisfactory meal. Unhealthy and unappetizing.

We agree with first reviewer; Richland Center has few restaurants that aren’t fried food or pub grub offerings. Although we were initially happy to see this alternative downtown, we were not overly impressed at a recent weekday lunch visit. The décor was the best part of this remodeled old building(perhaps once a bank?). It is very clean with folksy decorations and touches with an emphasis on old radios and times past. The menu is uninspired for lunch: primarily sandwiches and burgers with a couple of salads. Our waitress was sweet, but we only saw her once. She brought the wrong soup and it looked as if it was concentrate from a can – needed thinning. It was cream of asparagus or it was wallpaper paste, not sure. We thought we might be on Candid Camera. She never came back to fix the order. Breakfast is apparently served an hour and a half on weekday mornings. Sad news in a town very much in need of decent restaurants. We had to ask for our check;. Up front at the register. Several times. The plates were never cleared, we never received more iced tea. we were never asked for desserts, although the pies looked popular and homemade. There were plenty of workers, but the help seemed to lack basic experience.

It’s really nice to have a classy casual dining establishment in downtown Richland Center. Our party of five went on a Friday night, were seated promptly, and had great meals. The menu is not extensive. There were a couple of soups, a couple of entrees, and about five sandwiches. I had baked cod with Manhattan style clam chowder and baked potato. They were prepared well. It’s not that easy to find something to eat in RC that isn’t fried and/or over salted. The service was excellent. Additionally, we took out a meal and some pie. The rhubarb and coconut cream pies were both excellent. This could well be our go-to dining location when we’re in town.
