My first and more than likely last visit to Three Flames Mongolian happened today during lunch. First I’ll start off with the positive. The décor is very nice. The food bar seemed to be stocked well with plenty of fresh food waiting to be cooked. The restaurant seemed to be clean in most areas, I didn’t make it to the bathroom so I can’t attest to them. Oh, the egg drop soup was delicious and they do offer brown rice as an option. Also, they list out gluten free for those that need that sort of thing. This is the end of the positives, unfortunately. When we came in it was after a large lunch rush and we were the only patrons in the joint. We weren’t greeted by the 3 different people upon entering, but the one employee on a phone conversation did try and seat us and get us set up while simultaneously continuing her phone convo. Then, every single employee up and left to the back. Weird. We walked over to start our bowls, but there was only one size out. We had to track someone down when someone popped out momentarily if there were more choices. The big let down was that they don’t offer an all you can eat option. Part of the fun of Mongolian BBQ is that you get to go back and try different combos. Disappointing, but not a deal breaker at this point. We grab our bowls, make our selections, add our cooking sauces, and we ALWAYS add enough cooking sauce that it’s nearly brimming over the sides. The reason for this is that it won’t need much water or other sauce that they like to add at the grill which dilutes the flavor. Not my first rodeo. To be fair, my husband and I did ask for no added water and the cook asked if teriyaki was ok, we said«sure». Wish we hadn’t. Truly, it didn’t need any extra cooking moisture, it had tons. That didn’t stop him from ladling on 2 – 3 full scoops each onto our small and medium bowls. They were sickly sweet soup when he finished. Totally ruined ANY flavor we were going after at the sauce bar. After cooking our food, the cook retreated to the back of the restaurant with the rest of the employees. Not a single employee remained on that floor. About halfway through the meal the waitress came back. She didn’t ask if we needed anything or came to refill our obviously empty waters, good thing I didn’t pay extra for soda! No. She wanted us to box up with more than half full bowls. After politely declining the boxes, she started to leave, to which we asked her if we could please have more water. I believe she had no intention of getting us water until we asked. My husband’s food was so awful and swimming in teriyaki, it started to make him sick. I couldn’t eat any more than the ¼ I got through. The cooks came back to make themselves some lunch and then promptly went right to the back. That’s all we saw of the employees. We sat and waited to get our check. I decided I’d take mine home and try to fix it, but husband just wanted his destroyed. We waited. Waited. No one. I found some boxes on my own and boxed up my food. Then we went to the counter and waited. Waited. Waited. Till the cook came out for something and said he’d get someone. After paying a little over 20 $ for horribly ruined food and having a barfy feeling husband, we left and felt sad. This place is close to where we live. We love Mongolian BBQ. We just can’t come back. Too much wrong. Fundamentally wrong.

I’d rate it 3.5 stars if I could. The food here is decent. Mongolian grills are all pretty much the same and this one doesn’t have anything different. This Mongolian is better than the kennewick one because they have beer and the service is always pretty good. Normal food for a Mongolian. Good service. Beer.

Very tasty. I followed the recommended sauce that is up on the wall. Pretty good! The waitress that was there when we got there, really shouldnt have even been there. She had more important things going on with her phone. Eventually another waitress took over, she was great!

Best Mongolian in town! The egg drop soup is always yummy and I love the brown rice and rice noodle options, which are healthier alternatives!

Stopped in here again the other night. I should come here more often. The staff was pleasant and friendly. The food is very fresh, they have a great selection of sauces, and the cooks get it prepared perfectly. It was a very enjoyable, tasty, and relaxed dining experience. The prices make this a great bargain. I had enough that I should have had a second meal, but I polished it all off in one sitting. I went late but never felt rushed. The service was great.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced, health conscious meal, I highly recommend Three Flames. The service is excellent, friendly, and this restaurant understands the need to provide your meal quickly, especially during your lunch hour. The food is fresh and very tasty.

My husband & I enjoy coming here for a healthier meal alternative. The atmosphere is casual and the food is great. My only critique would be that they need a better music selection, with more variety. Twice we’ve come & Michael Jackson’s greatest have been playing & this particular visit was the Beatles greatest. While either artist is fine. That’s a whole lot of one artist! Time for a playlist update!

Best Mongolian grill! It’s one of the things my husband and I miss the most about Richland. Maybe we can be neighbors again someday. We will eat here when we visit! Thanks for great service and food.

This place is pricey, and the food was water downed so much that it was more like soup than anything, all the spices I put on it got washed away. After my 3rd bite I was done, it was not good at all.

My family and I love this place. Yes it’s a «hole in the wall» kind of dirty-looking place, but the food is fine, simple, healthy, and inexpensive. The kids like going here, too.

I was really surprised to see the mixed reviews of this place. It is one of my favorites. I can eat a bunch, it is really tasty, and you can eat healthy by loading up on veggies. The only reason I’d not give it a five star is that one time the veggies were severely undercooked. But that was an anomaly, and I’ll still love this place

Here is another hole in the wall eatery serving up some good food. The place is a bit run down and may have seen a better days, but the staff is friend. They only do mongolian grill style food, chopped veggies, thin sliced meat and a couple of asain sauces. They divert from the typical all you can eat monoglian style grills and charge by the size of the bowl. Be careful when loading you dish, as they will charge extra for over filling your dish. Their soup is awesome and comes as added extra like white or brown rice. The soup is a mixture of miso and egg drop.

Absolutely love this place! I would eat here every day if I could. I wish there was a place like this in Seattle area. There are plenty of mongolian grills everywhere but this one does it right! Only downside is how busy the place gets during lunch time and certain days in general. So I try to go there when they are not busy, that way the cooks aren’t rushed and you don’t have to wait in line.

I went in for take out, and was happy at the heaping portion I was able to walk away with for only $ 12. Plus soup and rice free, not bad. I did a decent job picking my ingredients and sauces — cant really fault the place if I didn’t. Side note: do you think the grillers look at some people’s combinations the way a mechanic would look at a car that a hobbyist screwed up? Just laughing inside when someone pairs pineapple with tomato?

Everything started out okay… lots of fresh vegetables with good variety. I didn’t like how they charged by the size of the bowl and threaten to charge more if you overfill your bowl… I mean isn’t that the point of your business. Anyway, the real problem started when the food was cooked. All of my sauce got hosed of by about half a gallon of water immediately when it hit the grill. It got hosed down several times again. Then, they put sauce back on later, but it was the sauce they keep by the grill, not the stuff I chose specifically for mine. They didn’t cook it long enough and scooped everything(liquid and all) straight into the bowl. What was left was a mongolian soup… mostly soggy vegetables and watered down sauce. Also, the meat was cut paper thin and frozen so I could barely tell it was there when it was cooked.

The food is the best mongo in the ENTIRE tri-cities. Absolutely delicious! The place is very clean and the cooks are great to chat with. BUT the service is on par with the DMV. Especially if the owner is waiting tables. I had to get up to ask for a drink refill 3 times before she bothered to refill my cup. The service has been so bad the last few times I’ve gone I’ve decided to swear off this place unless we get our food to go. Even then I don’t like giving my money to them. If you decide to go, go after 6pm. Actual friendly waitstaff seem to be around then.

Horrible service=disservice to the guest! Food is borderline mediocre! Highlight of the meal was the Coca cola I had!

Ive been to many different Mongolian grills, and for the most part, if you’ve been to one you’ve been to ‘em all. pile the stuff on until its falling all over the place. Heres a tip for you if you have never been to a Mongolian grill — put the meat in the bowl first, then the veggies and then do the noodles & sauce last. Id have to give this place 4 stars because while all Mongolian grills are pretty much the same, of all of them I have ever been to I like this one the best. They keep their grill cleaner than other places, and I really like the thin noodles they use(compared to the thick spaghetti like ones at other Mongolian grills). Also they add more teriyaki sauce while they cook it, and I like the hot sauce they use. One problem I had when I went there was my glass of water tasted terrible. I dont know if its the nasty Richland municipal tap, or if they gave me a glass that still had some soap in it. Either way, I just get a sprite when I go there for lunch now, and I have never had a problem since. If this were in any other city Id probably give it 3 stars, but for Richland, its one of the better options, and its not too far of a drive to get lunch for those of us out at Hanford. If you pile the food into your bowl, it can be a great value, you take the leftovers and get two lunches for the price of one.
