I usually have the same thing every time that I eat there. Slaw dog. Last couple of times they must of been short on slaw. But still very good. I have never had a problem with customer service. But then again I always call in my orders.

As another reviewer already stated, food is excellent but service is horrible. I have chosen not to eat there for the past 14 years. I can easily keep up with the years because the last time I ordered there was the day after my daughter was born and my wife wanted King Kone. I hurriedly left the hospital to get food and a change of clothes and I stopped by and placed our order. I did not have cash on me and told the lady at the window that I would pay for the order when I picked it up. She expressed no concerns at all. About 15 minutes later, I returned, paid for my order and was told it be about 15 minutes. Asking why, I was told they had not started on the order because it had not been paid for. I asked do you take call in orders and do you start on them before they are paid for? She said they indeed start those orders because they have a phone number. I stated you can easily get my tag number off my vehicle and that is probably as good if not better than a phone number. Wanting to get back to my wife and child, I asked for my money back and after discussing this with the owner for about ten minutes, was finally given my money back. Wendy’s was a life saver that day and I will never patronize nor encourage anyone to patronize the King Kone until the ownership changes hands. I have been tempted on occasion to sneak in a foot long hot dog but they do not deserve my business.

This place should be a solid four stars but the other day my wife(a native of Richlands) and I stopped by and the girl that was working should be fired! She was RUDE and for King Kone, completely unacceptable. This place is a local staple even though you they have no tables, no dine in, just order at the window and go. I was shocked at the first time I went but the burgers and dogs are delicious and the onion rings are great. A chili slaw with onion is the way to go IMO but that’s just me. The food is really, really good. Like I said, this should be four stars based on the food, but with the service they have now(one girl, I don’t want to judge all) I can’t go above three. They also forgot my sons food in the order and when we called they asked to call back tomorrow since they were now closed. That really ticked me off.

If you want uptown fancy food. this is not it! We have a little Burger and dog stand in the Dollar Store parking lot… it has been there for over 50 years and they aren’t gonna gussy up for you! They have great foot long chili slaw dogs, good hamburgers and the onion rings are amazing! The prices aren’t too bad either, considering how much all the other places cost. Face it, in Richlands, you don’t have much to choose from, it’s big chains now, not many Mom and Pop places left… but of the ones that are, this is one of the best. Mt biggest complaint… the new people working there have no idea what this place was founded on! When I was a kid, I got an ice cream every day when I got off the bus, if I didn’t have enough money, I could charge it and pay the next day… When I ordered my food yesterday, I was going to place my order and my mom(who has been eating there and has known the owner for 30 years!) was going to pick it up and pay… The girl very rudely informed me she would not even start to cook my food til I payed for it… That is not how you treat people… I was not asking to «charge» my order anymore, but she was going to get her money in about 5 – 10 minutes… Now I expect that at the Beach, … well, not really, even there we pay when we get the food… she was just rude. And to beat all, we didn’t get all our food when we were home. She needs a lesson in small town manners! But that one person aside, it is still one of my guilty pleasures when I go home… greasy burgers sloppy dogs, and memories worth millions!
