Sadly, it does appear that the Cast Iron Café is closed — they haven’t been open in several weeks. This was a nice place for a simple, good meal and the staff was always attentive and friendly. I’m sad to see it go, and hope that something good takes the space soon.

For what it is the food was good. However, I believe they are closed now. If anyone knows anything differently, please let me know.

Good local southern food. Service was good, food was good. We’ll be going back for sure. The sweet potatoe soufflé was great. Elevator music was a little loud inside the restaurant. :)

Only 10min from the i95 richmondhill exit. We stopped here after visiting fort Mcallister. Staff was very friendly. The owner stopped by our table to greet us. We were seated right away. The menu was substantial and all homemade. No canned food here. We had the chicken dumpling and the fish filet with homemade collards, macaroni and cheese and sweet. potato soufflé. Everything was really good and will definite come back.

Big A’s Cast Iron Café is another local favorite of ours. Each experience is better than the last and we are always excited to have dinner here. The restaurant is always very clean, the wait staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and the owners are extremely customer oriented and it shows in the fascinating business they run. Tonight’s special was chicken and dumplings and it was outstanding! The texture of the dumplings was a little different than the texture of a normal dumpling but it worked well and was very tasty! I had the baked tilapia which was deliciously seasoned! The sides of Mac & Cheese and Fried Okra complimented the entrée to a «T»! My family and I are big supporters of local businesses and this Big A’s Cast Iron Café is one of our new favorites. Highly recommended if you want some good olé southern food!

Probably the worst meal I’ve had since moving to Georgia. Grandma would be ashamed to call this food hers. The green beans were canned and bland, despite the waitress telling us they were really seasoned. The macaroni and cheese was a bland chunk of noodles with no cheese flavor whatsoever. Even my 4 year old didn’t want to eat it. My husband’s country fried steak was mushy. As he said, «even the army feeds me better than that.» Horrible experience. Pair all that with horrible service(wasnt checked on at all and had to take my cup up and request refill) and you can guarantee i will never go back.

If you want small town feel and the best home cooking then you have found the place. Affordable, pretty good service and yummy food. Could be a bit cleaner and updated but I can overlook that for the fried squash and pot roast. Well worth the time.
