Went in about 15 minutes prior to closing time, unfortunately for us about three quarter of the menu wasn’t available for obvious reasons. However we had the fresh fish soup bowls which are pretty bloody good. Sour and spicy were the first thing that came to mind, kind of reminded me of a ceviche. I couldn’t put my finger on it but the fish might have been bluefin tuna, definitely a firm and powerful fish, definitely enjoyed the consistency. They were hunks of Yuka at the bottom wish her a nice change in pace across from the crunchy tomato and red onion. The soup came with a bowl of rice on the side to balance the tastes out. Counter service was very pleasant and we were wrong up by the owner, or who is assumed to be the owner. I thought the portion was very generous. Place was small but definitely comfortable, I would imagine this to be a standard back in the homeland. I definitely enjoy the meal.

Place too small. Dishes too small. I think they over prized for the portion they serve. Definitely they need an upgrade. Food not so great.

Seafood is fresh, ceviche is excellent. Hot sauce is great. Humitas are really good. They only take cash

— 1st there was the Peruvian place: — Then there was the the Spanish-American place(3 Part Restaurant spanning 2 boroughs): Now? Now, there’s the Ecuadorian delight that is Delicias Manabitas II aka Comida Ecuatoriana. Located just off the J train(121st stop), it’s also conveniently right by the Q10 stop in Queens. …And who says sequels aren’t good! :-P ================================= — The very 1st time I ate here I was a little skeptical. They don’t have a huge menu, but the owners & servers do tell you the specials when you come in if you’re not sure what to order(they change what they serve a lot). — In fact, they’re REALLY nice and friendly here. They make you feel like you just walked into a family restaurant, and they’ve known you for years. — I am not a big fan of eating fish regularly outside(no matter the establishment), but when I was told about the fresh Tuna they had, I said what the heck… lemme give it a try. If I get sick, I get sick, lol — Turns out, this was sooooooooooooooo damn good! The sides(Plantains, chopped salad, and a small handful of rice) were so damn complimentary to the amazing Tuna(which was cooked to perfection and had a simple, yet deliciously tangy dressing on it). — The plantains were plump and crispy, the salad was crisp and had a great tanginess to it(which fit well with the tuna). They also make some terrific seafood soups here too. ================================= **Bottom line**: This restaurant is not huge. Nor is it exquisite. But, the thing that matters the most: the food, is sooooooooooooooo damn good. They always have patrons in there, and a soccer game or 2 on. You really feel like you’re back in a coastal Ecuadorian reataurant, eating with friends and just enjoying the simple life. That to me is the definition of a hidden-gem! Bön Appétit! :-)
