Art Works was my reception venue for my wedding. It is a wonderful art gallery with plenty of space for events of all kinds. The staff is very pleasant, helpful, and easy to work with. Working with the staff on our reception details was one of the easiest things to do. They respond quickly to emails and are able to adequately address and questions or concerns you may have. Our other vendors didn’t seem to have any problems communicating or working with them either. The atmosphere is very inviting and I loved exploring the different galleries during my tour of the facilities. I love how the different rented galleries are open for the public to view their artwork. Definitely, a great place to spend time at if you love art and a great venue for those seeking one for private events. I can’t wait to go back once I get more free time!

What a heaven for artists! I’ve never been here for events, but the few times I have been for meetings or walking through to meet people, I’ve always been amazed at the creative energy in the space. It seems like a perfect place to inspire and be inspired.

I pretty much love this place. This is the building closest to Hull St. There’s a decent sized gallery space in the center when you enter that has monthly shows including the fourth Friday mentioned below. I’m not sure who brings the food(the artists?) but there are a lot of yummy hors d’oeuvres. My favorite thing though are the separate artist studios that circle around the main gallery and are located throughout the building and upstairs too. There’s a smaller gallery space upstairs. Lots of talent out there and I can’t say that any two of them are similar. There usually are a couple of studios that are rentable and sometimes you see the artist themselves working. Next door is Plant Zero which also has rentable space and seems more chic. I’m not sure if they are associated with each other… couldn’t find that online easily, but plant zero has shows too and sometimes poetry slams.

Plant Zero is studio space local artists can rent to work in… and also to occasionally show their work. The space is in Manchester, with a huge parking lot for visitors and a little café on the premises in case the artists or visitors get hungry. It’s open 24⁄7 for the artists that rent space, and the space is a repurposed warehouse so its spacious and has an industrial feel to it. Aside from the workspace, they do have some galleries of art that are always available to peruse… and on the 4th Friday of each month the entire building is opened to the public, including all the rented work spaces, so the artists can show off what they are working on. When I was there there were a variety of artists, everything from local photographers to sculptors to children’s art to wood-working… there is food and sometimes music at these as well, and if you are in the market for some new art, or just looking for a free and unique Friday night date idea, this could be it.
