Huge lunch portions for $ 5.99/each! Also, best Turkish coffee yet. I believe I defected a hint of cardamom and cinnamon. Don’t miss out on this«better than espresso» Turkish treat!

This place is great. The food is really good, and the service friendly. Good vegetarian selection. I suggest the felafel. Sometimes they are busy so you might have to wait a bit for your food. Nice people who run it. Also you can buy certain groceries from the Middle East or the Mediterranean or Asia.

This place is good for sure but honestly I’ve had a better gyro at a gas station in lawrenceburg. Not that the gyro wasn’t great but I’ve had better. I love the bottle of cucumber sauce they bring to your table so you can put as little or as much as you want on your gyro. Also the price was very reasonable. I will eat here again and would recommend it.

DELICIOUS! The dinner platter for 2 may be the best $ 18.99 we’ve ever spent! It literally fed 2 adults and 2 kids with food left over… Good gyros. Tasty chicken shawarma. Good dolmas. Really great kibbeh. Yummy pita. Nice rice. We stopped here because of the great Unilocal reviews, and were not disappointed. If we lived in Richmond, I swear we’d eat here every week. Really nice people, and fair prices too. A great place.

We stopped here during a road trip simply because of the Unilocal reviews. The staff was very friendly and patient with me as I asked about various menu items, as they didn’t have descriptions on their menu. The prices were great. I had the chicken combo meal, rice instead of fries, & my drink was included for $ 6.99 at dinner time. My husband had the signature Babylon Delight sandwich platter with fries and a drink for $ 8.99. They have numerous bottled beverage selections with a wide wide variety of Mediterranean to American, as well as a Coke brand fountain dispenser with additional choices. The food arrived in about five minutes, hot and fresh. The fries were perfect, crispy & lightly seasoned on the outside and soft & hot inside. I would defiantly come here again.

Stopped in for a quick lunch during our travels. Being from Chicago, I have had my share of gyros. These were some of the best I have ever had. The meat had awesome flavors and the pita was very fresh. Since we were eating there, they brought the tzatziki sauce to the table ice cold which allowed us to dress our gyros. I hate when they come drowned in it. I went with the lunch special which came with rice and a salad. The rice was tasty and the salad was a nice size and deessed right. A very good lunch worth the trek off the interstate. A great find in Richmond, thank you to the other Unilocalers that highlighted the spot.

Yumm! This is someplace I go where the servings are huge, yet I still want more when I’m done. It’s absolutely great. The gyro is awesome, and has basically everything that you could possibly want out of Greek food. It’s really affordable, and i could just go on and on about it. Really warm, and you always want more. *as a side note, I’m pretty sure this is the only place in Madison county that has aloe juice as a drink*

Best Greek I’ve had in a long time which was really unexpected for the middle of Kentucky. I love gyros but the babylon gyro delight is a game changer. It’s a twist on the classic gyro. Basically a gyro pita sandwich with feta, lettuce, tomato, and onions. Add some tzatziki sauce and you’ll have the perfect combo!

Went for lunch. Very good food for good price. Had the gyro with rice and side salad. It was enough for two. Will definitely go back to try other things on the menu.

One of my favorite Greek places! I love their food. Everything is very fresh and portions are large. Great deal for the reasonable prices! I highly recommend this place. It does take a long time for your order to be ready so if you have limited time for lunch plan on calling in your order or avoiding the lunch crowd!

Some of the best gyros that I have ever had! Their menu is not very large, but everything on it is very tasty(that I”ve tried at least). The wait is almost always very long and the owner sometimes isn’t the most friendly, other than that this place is 5 stars!

Who would think in the middle of the Bluegrass some good Greek food, I had the Gyro Dinner. The Greek salad it comes with was fresh with lettuce, cucumbers red onions feta and a whole hot pepper. Covered with a balsamic vinegar dressing. Very tasty. The Gyro was loaded with meat and had tomatoes and onions served with a warm pita. Also served with yellow rice. The best part is the cucumber sauce. They give you your own bottle during the meal. It’s so addictive in a good way. Fresh and tasty. I really like this place. Just so nice to have a good local place that’s different especially for KY.

I would give them more than five stars if could. I could go on and on about why I love this place. It is a little hole in the wall and I love that about it. I ordered a dinner portion of the hummus and falafel, not really sure what to expect. I just figured I would stick with something simple. I was served a very large plate of delicious hummus topped with tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, olive oil, and falafels. They also brought out pita bread and tzatziki sauce. I’m not one to eat many gluten containing products but this pita bread was calling my name. It was warm and fluffy… I had to have some. I practically ate the left over hummus with a spoon after eating my falafels and pita bread. And the tzatziki sauce was simply amazing. It was a perfect combo of all the Flavors. Now I need to go back! I will go out of my way to eat here again!

I normally go here for lunch but recently stopped by for dinner. Got the gyro dinner. Tons of food! You get a lot to meat, a pita, at least 2 cups of rice and a salad. Enough for two meals! All for $ 10. Excellent bargain for delicious food!

You never really expect to find a taste of the Mediterranean in the middle of Kentucky. But if you’re going to be salivating over shawarma, you can get a satisfying fix in Richmond with the Babylon Café. I believe it was formally known as Babylon Gyros when it opened but has expanded its space and menu. To start, as a disclaimer, I went between a three and four star with Babylon. This is because while it good Mediterranean food in Richmond, it also stands alone with no comparable competition. For this fact alone, I would give it a three. You can go up the road to Lexington and probably try a few places to compare. Variety is the spice of life, and with Mediterranean food it makes all the difference with subtle nuances of recipe and presentation. Note that this is great(and arguably four stars) for Richmond, but you have to keep some perspective. The décor is quiet and, upon entrance, almost feels like you’ve stepped into a small coffee café. Brush that aside and make your way back to the counter to see a chalkboard with all the goods on it. The prices is decent for what you get and you would be hard-pressed to find a better lunch combo in downtown Richmond. Your dollars go a long way here. The service is pretty fast since you order at the counter and they bring it out to your table. We went with the falafel sandwich, the falafel lunch combo, and lentil soup. The falafel sandwich was wrapped up really nice and warm! I had to peel back a few layers and discovered that it was more like a falafel taco than a wrapped up sandwich. This automatically forces you to either eat it out of the wrapper or open that present and get a little messy. The falafel was moist and had a great, iconic crispness to it. Couple that with the tzatziki sauce, delicious. The lentil soup with pita was warm and had the right amount of kick to it, no doubt very filling too. The lunch combo came with a falafel sandwich, some rice, and what looked to be Greek salad. There was plenty of eats on the plate and it was just right for the price. All good things, but there is some dysfunction. Since their expansion, their adjacent dining area kind of throws off the atmosphere of Babylon Café. One side is quiet, cool, and muted, while the other aspires to take you to the Mediterranean with its bright greens and baby blues. The expanded side also serves as a delivery entrance, so it was kind of a bummer when they were receiving stock while we were sitting right there. In the summer it would’ve been no problem, but it was still chilly and getting hit by a wave of cool air every time the door opened wasn’t that desirable. In these regards, some improvements can be made. Overall though, Babylon Café does make some great Mediterranean food and it is something to really be appreciated by a small town like Richmond. Now you don’t have to travel to the fertile crescent, Babylon Café brings the goods to you.
