Everyone is seemingly looking for something different when considering a school. Looking for the cure for the«common core»? My son has attended BCS for over 9 years now and there have been many changes over the years. I believe in the last two years I’ve seen the largest year over year increases in quality and passion. They’re on the right track. This is exactly where I want my child not only for the quality of education, but for the commitment to a safe, drama-free(think public school) Christian environment. BCS is the only state accredited christian school in Madison county. This is huge. Many do not know this, but in Kentucky, students that graduate from a non-accredited school have to take the GED to have the opportunity to pursue higher education. BCS is also building partnerships with local colleges to allow students to attend college courses for credit in their senior year. BCS may be small and lack some of the window dressing other institutions have, but if it’s quality you’re after give them a look. I’m simply a parent and would be happy to speak with you personally, I’ll also be willing share my experiences with the school to appropriately set your expectations. When my family and I visited the school we had very high hopes. We had just moved to the area and it seemed to be one of the nicest schools in the area. However when we visited the school it was not what we expected. Although the receptionist(missy) was super nice and the building looked new, it still looked like a construction zone on the inside after 5 years at its current location. The location, in my opinion, was not in the best area. My daughter would have been going into the 3 year old room and she stated they rarely fill the 15 child limit for the class. That was a red flag to me. The school charges @ $ 4,800 a year but does not provide ANY meals, has no gym or cafeteria. They do have art class but does not have any Spanish classes which my daughter is used to taking. I wouldn’t say it was a horrible place, I just have higher standards. Kids Kingdom meets the bar for us!
