Body Wisdom is a fantastic studio … worth the drive from anywhere in the Bay Area! I love Nancy’s style … very nonjudgmental and helpful in aiding your pursuit of health.
The variety of classes is great in keeping boredom at bay and your muscles from becoming stagnant. I am really enjoying getting my body into proper alignment and preventing the twinges I’m seeing in my 40s from becoming full blown issues when I’m older.
This is a great place for people of all ages. I have seen a few people in their 20s and 30s, but most people are in their 50s, 60s, and 70s. The workouts are HARD though, so don’t look at a little grey hair next to you and think that you can slack off. I sweated more in the TRX class and Outdoor Fitness classes than I ever did at the Bar Method!

I suffered a bad back injury in a boating accident. So, I needed to find an exercise studio that has classes for core and restorative work that knew how painful it might be for me. I found Nancy Burn’s Body Wisdom studio and was instantly hooked! I love her style of teaching –gentle and non-​competitive. She’s fantastic. I take the Yoga with Slow Weights class and it’s amazing how good I feel. I now have a much stronger core and Nancy is super thoughtful and caring with any of us who are dealing with an injury. I highly recommend Body Wisdom. I also love her restorative classes. I highly recommend this studio for people who may have had an injury and/​or just want a teacher that offers personalized attention to her students.

Body Wisdom Studio is awesome!!! Nancy Allan Burns is a major inspiration, a wonderful role model, and an outstanding Restorative Exercise professional. Every class is unique, educational and focused on a master plan for optimum health through alignment. Appreciate the individual attention and cross training with other health experts through special classes such as Myofascial Release, Breathing with Awareness, etc.
Highly recommend Body Wisdom Studio for adults who care about their health!

I started taking Nancy’s restorative exercise class because after years of running my feet were beginning to pain me. A visit to the podiatrist had left me pondering the idea of surgery and dreading the prospect of a month «off my feet.» Since I’ve been taking classes at Body Wisdom, I’ve experienced benefits not only in my feet, but overall. I am learning methods of stretching and strengthening to overcome my «bad alignment» habits acquired over the years. The exercises are very effective and release muscle tension that I sometimes don’t even realize is there. Nancy Burns and her staff are well-​trained, excellent teachers. There are a variety of classes offered and it is a low-​key, friendly environment. Parking is easy and the classes are affordable. I highly recommend Body Wisdom and think there is something there for everyone interested in developing a healthy and active body.

I’ve been working out with Nancy Burns for seven or eight years. During this time, I lost and have successfully kept off, forty pounds. I am now in my early sixties, nearing retirement, feeling fit and confident, physically – thanks, in large part, to Nancy. For several years, she was my personal trainer in our clubhouse gym. Then I joined her group outdoor workouts on Mt Tam. When Nancy opened Body Wisdom studio a few years ago, we started doing «restorative» exercises inside during the winter – a combination strength, balance and flexiblilty. Nancy is well trained herself, attentive to all her clients’ particular needs, and, quite simply, a good person to work with.
