Candy Box

It was $ 20/​lbs for jellybelly’s. Straight up. And it wasn’t marked! The lady was _​very_​helpful, offered free samples, encouraged us to get more. and never mentioned the price. After ringing it up, she even made remarks about the pain, to soothe it. Right. Not going there again.

This sweets and treats shop is the perfect size and in the perfect place for good quality business. There is just enough bulk so that the candy and li ling mui are always fresh. they also sell other random fun stuff that you might as well get to treat your self, since you are in there anyway. fun firecrackers all times of the year.
*most of all* the woman who works there is a great, helpful, happy and sincere person. she always remembers my husband and i, who have only been in randomly a few times, and remembers what we tend to get (sour gummies and li hing mui) she talks about her business, how the most important time for her to be open is after lunch, dinner and date nights. she is great. she makes me want to come back to treat myself!
she probably remembers my husband and me because we are tattoo people, if you are reading this, we love you!

I love this store, I just wish I knew for sure when they’re open. They have such a wonderful selection of stuff, it’s almost like Christmas when I happen upon them and their doors are actually open.

Ugh, Candy Box. I am addicted to you.
You have gummies in bulk. You have my favorite fizzy hard candies from Japan that I can’t purchase anywhere else in town. You have exciting flavors of Kit Kat like green tea and jasmine. You have enough Hi Chews to supply a small army.
It literally looks like Hello Kitty threw up a crazy selection of sweets, stuffed animals, and shiny knick knacks in here. All the items I’ve purchased here have been fresh and well within their expiration date. They knows what’s up. Nothing worse than feeling like you’re going to chip a tooth while consuming sour belts that are the consistency of tree bark. Candy Box has never wronged me.
The woman working here (quite possibly the owner?) is really friendly and knows her products from front to back. If you tell her the kind of flavor and consistency you want, she will know exactly what to recommend. She also gives away tons of samples and will fork over a taste of anything you’re on the fence about buying.
My only complaint is that nothing is really marked with a set price so occasionally I’ve been sort of alarmed by the number on the till.
It’s only a matter of time before I come back to resume my sugar downfall.

I don’t usually eat candy, but this little store makes it hard to resist. The walls are COVERED with all kinds of sugary goodness and adorable toys. They won me over with their extensive collection of Hi-​Chew flavors, which is currently my go-​to chewy treat that I always keep stock of in my purse. The owner even let me try a few flavors while I was ogling their Hi-​Chew selection. Who doesn’t like free samples?! Prices are kiiiinda steep though.
I’ll be back for another sugary attack.

They have a good variety of candy, especially the coveted seasonal green tea kit kats. However, these are little overpriced for me. I’m not willing to pay $ 20 for a bag of 12 piece minis. But when I’m really craving it, I will.
I’m not loving the store’s opening hours. I’ve come to this plaza around 10am to noon but this place doesn’t open until 1pm or so.
If you want hard to find candies, this is the place to go.

What a find!
Leaving the shopping center, spotted this tiny store crammed with stuffed animals, candy and toys.
Candy box carries an unbelievable variety of candy flavors/​combinations. Chocolate covered this to chewy flavored that, you will not leave disappointed!
One thing that I really liked how was the friendly staff (owner?) was offering candy samples, making it fun to want to buy some of her wares. I like friendly candy shop salespeople… AND I like candy :-)

I like how they have candies where you choose and put in a bag just like in Hong Kong, but I just wish they had a better selection. The sour Mario gummies, the big cow gummy, and gummy-​filled gummy bears weren’t that great. The panda gummies were not bad they don’t have much of them. The strawberry gummy with jelly filling was okay but I just wish they had a cream filling instead of a jelly filling because it tastes kind of weird. The watermelon gummy was pretty good. The Meji Feel Mint chocolate wasn’t that great.

Jam packed full of fun toys and candy. Honestly, it’s a little more overwhelming than the other stores in the mall, and it is a smaller space. They pack a lot into a small space, though!

Oh what can I say? Small but convenient with variety. The owner seems to know her candy, never knew hi-​chew had such a history with their manufacturers, it was something cool to know if ever purchasing elsewhere. Her prices may be a little high but I’m one of those small business supporters so why not? All in all, cute shop with not only candy to sell but stuffed animals, cool gadgets, posters anywhere from naruto to super mario. It’s the store that suckers toddlers to middle aged kids and their parents.

Candy Box has a good selection of american and asian candy! They even have dried fruits including the shuang mei that all the asians enjoy eating on roadtrips! I always get the Coca-​Cola bottle and panda gummies and the watermelon gummies (I think these are their best selling)!
Other than candy that you can buy by pound, they also have candy from Asia that you probably won’t be able to find here (even at the Asian markets). I found Meiji’s feel mint chocolate here!

This place saved my tail.
Last week my wife came home from a Hawaiian vacation. The next day I was enjoying my favorite beer and got the munchies. I couldn’t believe my luck when I found some tasty looking dried spicy sesame anchovies. Boy did they hit the spot.
Uh Oh. Wifey saw me eating these and had a fit. Turns out she brought them from Hawaii and had promised them to a friend.
I went to the Candy Box on the off chance that they might have these. Praise and Thank You Lord Jesus! I found the anchovies as well as some delicious spicy dried squid.
I bought some to give to my wifey to pass on to her friend. I was out of the dog house.
I bought some to enjoy myself. Now I had a good reason to buy some beer now to wash them down with.

The Candybox is surely a treat for lovers of Asian snacks. There you can find dozens of gums from Japan, dried goods from China, salted snacks from Taiwan and other knick-​knacks the like. I’m a big fan of pocky, and of course they have it there. They even have the giant-​sized ones. But if you’re not a connoisseur of sweets, you can easily find some delightful plush toys there that are of your favorite animé characters: Naruto, Mario Brothers, Totoro, just to name a few. And lastly, for those who enjoy making things, they still carry a few Gundam model sets as well as other plastic figures for your mantel. I stop by for the gum, but I usually end up buying a lot of little other stuff too. Don’t forget the sour candy, they have a bunch also.

Yay for candy! My family and I have been visiting Pacific East Mall ever since I was little, and I was always a little sketched out by this place because of the electronic moving and barking animals on display in the front (reminds me a little too much of Chinatown), but it’s actually not bad at all! Lots of candy choices inside, and while it IS really really expensive, the lady working is nice and always gives me lots of free candy afterwards.

So much candy! Love the strawberry gummy and the double cherry gummy. Omg the hi-​chew is expensive. This place is expensive overall. But good candies.

So I would come here even if they didn’t sell the bomb ass candy! The lady who runs the place is super cool! Just as everyone else mentioned, she gives you samples upon samples of the good stuff… I came in to buy the dried cuttle fish and some chocolate pebbles… The store is a little overwhelming from trinkets, toys and even the famous barking toy dog that she always has out the front door. But, after I had already purchased my stuff she reaches behind the counter and offers us some hi-​chew (?)…I am an instant fan! I’ve tried it before but i never knew where to buy it. I do now! I think she gave me and my 2 kids one piece of 4 different flavors each! That’s pretty generous!

OMG this place is over whelming and calling out my sweet tooth…
the lady who runs it is very very very very very very oh did i mention VERY NICE. haha once you walk in she always offers Free Japanese candy or what ever shes has to give as samples and she isn’t shy on sharing it if you are in a group of friends. Candy is priced at a very fair price.

I usually dont do candy stores but this place is nice. The lady that works here is very nice. First time i went, she gave me and my buddies like 10 different samples of new candies she got from japan. This is like the JDM candy store. They have all my favorites. The hichew (chewy fruit flavored candies, like starburst but better) the cubyrop the asian flavored hard candy. There is two flavors with two little cubes of cubyrop in each package so you can mix the flavors and taste the goodness.
My favorite thing to get at this candy store is the CHOCOLATE COVERED GUMMY BEARS, damn these are the best. A buddy of mines that recently moved to LBC told me about these right before he left. I tried them and BAM they blew me away. You might not think chocolate covered gummy bears are tasty but dont knock them until you try them. I drive a good 15 mins to get these bad boys.
