Since gas is gas, it’s the extras that matter. And in this case, this station is almost always out of windshield cleaning fluid and paper towels. Lame.

As others have stated, this station only makes it look like you can pay at the pump. I have tried several different credit cards on several different occasions, and have been told to «Please See Cashier» every single time. This is not so bad, except that it irritates me that they still «pretend» you can pay at the pump while you cannot. That said, there are rarely any lines at the station, and the grounds seem fairly safe (NOT necessarily a given in this part of El Cerrito) so it gets 3 stars.

It could be that I’ve been going to Costco for gas for too long … but do people no longer get fill ups at gas stations?
They had a machine that looks like it takes credit cards … they had stickers on the machine that look like VISA, MC stickers … the devious machine even had a slot with which to insert the card … but the dastardly machine makes you go inside and then they demand to charge your card with a value.
Apparently asking for a fill up was met with blank stares. Has the economy really gotten so bad that people no longer fill up their entire tank? So I ended up charging $ 35 on my card … stupid station lost out on at least $ 20 which would have been a fill-​up. I’m heading back to costco … even if I have to push my car there next time.

We were in Albany today to pick up our friend who has a condo on Pierce Street in Albany. We stopped at this Shell Station to get gas, and I had to pee. I always seem to have to pee no matter where I am…
Anyway, I went inside and got the key… the girl inside was busy texting, but she did let me know that the automatic sensor is broken for the light. and there is no windows in the bathroom. ACK! What am I gonna do?
So THANK GOODNESS my hubby was with me, he helped give me light to pee in a pitch-​dark bathroom via cell phone =)
Soo, that sucks that their light is out and they haven’t fixed it. But the girl was nice enough to tell me.
