Great Salon in Richmond– these people know their stuff! While my daughter and I were in there for a simple undo, many folks came in for all manners of hair consultations. It is clear everyone knew their stuff! I overheard one woman explain to an African-​American girl the difference she would see in her hair using a relaxer or a Brazilia Blow out (I was sold on the Brazilian Blow out!). Another woman was deciding between a Balliage or plain ol’ Foil highlights… I was sold on the Balliage! Yet another was looking at mocha color hairswatches– there is a whole lotta mocha to choose from!
Anyway, enough eavesdropping, how rude of me. May handle our updos so gently it was like your big sister playing with your hair, et Voila! You are suited up for war. Those updos did not budge all night, and were shockingly complicated and full of pins when it was time to pull that thing down. Like an eiffel tower in your hair… Man, impressive–
Nice salon– they give you water, coffee or tea, have a lovely seating area, and it is clear they want to listen to your needs and personalize for you– exactly what you want. Dang it, why aren’t you in Denver Circle Square?

It’s two weeks later and I still like my haircut– that never happens! Dallas is great! Patient and understanding. I highly recommend her.

So I have been a client here for a little more than a year now and have only gotten my hair cut by Olivia Clarke, per a friend’s recommendation. Olivia is… Awesome! I have been such a frequent customer that I no longer have to say what I want done to my hair, she just knows what to do and how to do it. I come in twice every month, one for a haircut and one for a trim. She also has weekend and night hours which provides flexibility for those who work a 9 – 5 on the weekdays.
Her prices are reasonable and the quality of the cut is superb. Right now, they have a wheel at the front desk where you can spin it on each visit and you can get a percent off your hair cut or a styling product which is pretty cool. I recommend getting your hair cut by Olivia for all your hair/​salon needs!
The only complaint I have is that there is only street parking, but that’s with about 90% of the business in the fan. Also, I have been coming here so frequently that the front desk people know me by my name and voice. haha.

Made an appointment with Drew after reading her bio on the website. «Excels at detailed, precision haircuts» and she delivered! I’ve always had layers, but my hair has never felt this bouncy or shaped my face as perfectly. Now let’s talk about the highlights, I decided to go back to my blonde and got all over highlights, with the varying slices and weaves she included left me with a natural looking blonde lift that I’m absolutely loving. You will not be disappointed!

Today was my first visit to this salon and I couldn’t have been more pleased. When I first made the call to book an appointment, the receptionist was super polite and helpful. Not only that, I called a second time in the morning OF my appointment to see if I could reschedule to a later time on the SAME DAY. The receptionist I spoke to was yet again so polite and helped me reschedule my appointment. The salon is located in the fan area and the appearance of it looks very inviting. It also looks clean and well organized. Jess, a senior stylist, styled my hair for a wedding. She took the time to sit with me beforehand and went over all of the options of curling my hair (I have naturally thick straight hair.) I knew that she was very experienced. She was quick, yet proficient in her styling. I received a lot of compliments on my hair throughout the wedding event. I will definitely be coming back to this salon in the near future and would definitely recommend it to others!

I had a bad haircut before coming here and Elizabeth saved it. She listened to what I want and knew what to do. I would definitely get my haircut here next time!

Great and easy experience. Easy to make an appointment. Easy to find. Saw Merry and she was super relaxed, seemed to care about how I wanted my hair to come out, and was over all a very pleasant person to be around. Definitely recommend. If you think the place might appeal to you give it a shot. I. Glad I did and I will be back. From someone new in town, who really kinda hates the process of finding a new place to get her hair chopped up.

This was by far the best experience I have had getting my hair done.
I booked a consultation with Merry and she was so wonderful, she explained everything and didn’t give me any false hopes of what I wanted.
I would 100% recommend this salon. All the staff are so friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable.
Merry is the person to go to if you are looking to do color ! She does a fantastic job with ombré and balayage color.

As long as I live in Richmond I will get my hair cut here. Jess is simply amazing. Everyone is so nice. I’ve yet to leave unsatisfied!

I’ve been seeing an apprentice (Meghan) here and really happy with the results. The master stylist supervises/​consults with her as she works. I had the Kerasilk treatment done, which did improve my frizz by about 50% though did not leave me with entirely silky hair. My haircut was good, service is impeccable and friendly.

Drew is fantastic and it is always so fun to go in and chat with her! She is so knowledgeable and was able to explain so many things about color to me. I always leave happy!

Did you know this place has the best massage therapist in town?! Now you do! Book an appointment with Nadia and enjoy! I have followed her around for years and she is simply the best. I need deep tissue massage, and she can provide 2 hour therapy as is my preference. I have dreadlocks, so I have never hadn’t hair done here. I did get someone a gift certificate to get her hair done and she looked great afterwards. She enjoyed the service.

Great staff, all of them are friendly. I had been going to another hair salon and Richmond and always came out unsatisfied or frustrated because it was the same old same old.
Olivia was great very attentive to what I was saying and even took notes to remember what I wanted exactly. She gave me advice and offered styling types.
My boyfriend and I had a wedding to go to and she was kind enough to fit us in last minute before so that we could look sharp!
Highly recommended.

Erykah Nikole is great! She listened to everything I wanted and took the time to walk me through all the steps of my complicated ombré coloring. She’s very personable and very talented. She is definitely my go to stylist in Richmond now!

Wonderful salon with a great environment. After moving to Richmond I tried out a few other salons and finally heard about circle square from a friend and now I will never go to anyone but Drew! Drew is amazing! She worked with me specifically to ensure that I understand what she is doing and that I love the end result. I definitely recommend this salon and Drew!

I got a deal for a facial (with Kat) off Groupon and went today. My sister also purchased me a massage with Nadia. I was very pleased with my experience with both ladies.
The salon was clean and relaxing. All the staff I spoke to were very nice and accommodating.
I normally do not like facials but with Kat it was very enjoyable and relaxing. After the initial consultation, she began the hour long facial. She is very personable and really understands what you are looking for. I am kicking myself for not buying the 2 facial package that was offered!
Nadia was very good as well. She was able to deliver a great massage while concentrating on the areas I needed the most work on. There’s nothing I dislike more than when I say I need the focus on my back and neck and they spend half the time on my arms and legs. This was not the case with Nadia. She gave me a fantastic massage and I was really able to tell that she listened to my wants during our consultation.
I highly recommend this place to anyone!

Update: I received a message from Jess to come in for a complimentary cut. I appreciate the offer, and kudos to Circle Square for reaching out. I’ll update again if I return.

1. I was able to make an appointment on line and that let me find appointment the same day so I did not cut my bangs in the bathroom.
2. My stylist Drew was a doll. She was friendly and spent time understanding what I wanted and how I lived. She is a great cutter and I was very happy with the cut. I even made an appointment for my daughter next week with Drew.

This is the best salon I have EVER been to. Easily the best haircut at a salon I’ve ever had in my life. Yes, sometimes I have a penchant for hyperbole, but I’m not kidding. Olivia did a fantastic job on my hair and I will never go to another salon in Richmond barring some terrible reason they aren’t around.
I am very stupid when it comes to my hair. I have no idea what looks good on me and after letting my hair grow out for 2 years I came to Olivia with a mess of locks. I told her what I usually had my hair like before and she told me exactly why the cuts I were getting previously were achieving exactly the undesired effect and what would look best for my hair type and face shape. After working her magic I am in love with my hair.
The best thing about Circle Square is that they are so thorough and not at all pushy about products. I did end up buying the mousse Olivia used on me but mostly because I usually use the $ 3 gel my husband has in the back of our closet, which always makes my hair look awful and crunchy.
I also always have the problem of the «salon look» never keeping the next day because all I have time/​care for is just to blow dry my hair and put something in it really fast. Olivia listened to me and set me up with a style that she knew would work for my lackadaisical attitude when it comes to styling myself.
The rest of the salon employees were also super nice. I seriously cannot emphasize how much of a great experience I had there. Say hi to Chico for me if you go.

My first haircut experience in Richmond and it did not disappoint! You can book your appointment online which is super convenient and after a few clicks of the mouse, I ended up with Elizabeth as my stylist. Her online profile intrigued me when I read: «Elizabeth does some of her best work for clients who are nervous or unsure how to get what they want.» That pretty much sums me up when it comes to getting haircuts because I never know what I want. Elizabeth took her time from start to finish to make sure I was pleased with the final result, I never felt rushed and she really seemed to «get» what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend her to others who want a new look.
Salon is nice and modern in style (but those floors could use a good scrub), conveniently located in The Fan, prices are moderate (paid $ 60 for a shampoo/​haircut which was what I paid living in DC; you can return anytime for complimentary bang trims), friendly staff, comfy couches, and an ample supply of guilty-​pleasure magazines to peruse though. Solid salon!
