These are the best doughnuts I have ever tasted! Cute little original doughnut house from 1968– and you can tell when you walk in that they’ve kept their retro style(which adds to its charm) and focused more on baking delicious treats! Everything I have tried is melt-in-your-mouth good! I’ve tried toasted coconut, glazed, raised chocolate(my friend’s favourite!), blueberry and chocolate glazed. Try the buttermilk– my fave! It’s very popular and sells out, although they often have buttermilk flavour in the doughnut holes as well! I’ve tried a variety of doughnut holes(glazed, buttermilk, chocolate, blueberry) and they are all amazing. If you’re on a budget but want to splurge a little for under a few bucks you can grab a dozen holes to satisfy! They are a generous size hole, too :) So fresh– they bake all day and all night! The best part is, they are open 24 hours except Mondays! So, when those late night cravings hit, you are in luck. Or, if you happen to be in the area picking somebody up from the airport, swing by here and treat your guest to a lovely local favourite treat! They even have massive cinnamon rolls, apple fritters, coffee rolls, etc. They are HUGE and very reasonably priced for what you get! Only reason they aren’t getting 5 stars is the service hasn’t always been that friendly. But, I will keep coming back because these babies are amazing!

These doughnuts are the best possible doughnuts — just like my grandma used to make in her bakery. Problem is — no vegan options. I only ate these back when I had animal products as part of my daily diet. If they ever add some vegan options I’ll be the first to leave another review.

Yummy!!! This donut place is adorable! I love that they’ve kept their retro look on the inside. If they changed it, it wouldn’t be the same. With all these donut shops popping up all over the place, it’s so refreshing that Country Style has stuck to all the typical donut flavors I used to see when I was a kid. They aren’t inventing a bunch of random new flavors just to compete. They’ve stuck to just the basics like glazed, powdered sugar, and cinnamon and they are made fresh everyday and are even open 24 hours! The donuts are definitely rich and heavy so I couldn’t have more than one but they are definitely worth my daily calorie intake. The staff is friendly too, she even offered to make us a donut that they were out of, the maple glaze that is my friends favorite. I like the chocolate frosted with crème filling.

I love this place! I ordered a glazed twist, strawberry turnover, a coffee roll, AND some donut holes. The food was amazing and I certainly enjoyed bringing some treats home to my family. The staff is always friendly and so helpful. They are patient with indecisive customers. They also offer suggestions to help with decision making. I also think they are a bunch of enablers who enjoy making people feel good about their multiple choices. I will be back soon!

I prefer the West End location to this original location partly because it’s newer, but mostly because it’s closer to my brother’s house and thus easier for me to get to when I’m visiting. This place is also a bit smaller inside than the new location, but it’s got a couple small booths and a few diner-style counter seats. You’d have a hard time fixing a big group in here, but 4 or fewer should’t be a problem unless they are busy. Either way, you can’t go wrong because the quality is equally high in both. In terms of the donuts; the cinnamon-sugar is second in my experience only to a place in Vermont called The Cupboard. It is dense and cake-y, with a very cake-like crumble to it rather than the over-mixed and too homogenous texture most donut places have in their versions of a cake-style donut. It’s a simple donut without gimmicks, and that’s harder to pull off well than if you drench a mediocre yeast-raised donut in peanut butter, jelly, and bacon(or whatever other hoity-toity stuff is on that overpriced cardboard). The same goes for the old fashioned, it is simple, but perfectly cooked so that it is both slightly crunchy on the outside but super moist inside. I also highly recommend the sour cream; not only are they good fresh, but they’ll keep an extra day more than most(and two more than a yeast-raised) before they start to dry out. When it comes to the yeast raised I’d still put Country Style in the well above average category, particularly in terms of value for your dollar, but I’d focus my attention on the cake-style to really enjoy a top-tier donut!
