Elegba hosts year-​round special events and performances celebrating African and African American culture, and the dance company performs all over the state as well. They sponsor the annual Juneteenth Freedom Celebration, Kwanzaa Festival, and Down Home Family Reunion and also offer guided tours of the Trail of Enslaved Africans, which begins on the banks of the James River at the Manchester Docks. They also feature special art exhibits throughout the year.
