I forced my family to come here with me, not knowing what we would find. I’m interested in the history of the area, so I thought it would be a good place to visit. We immediately saw that it was pretty racist. It seems like it was built by white people, for white people, defending the history of a county built on slavery and segregation. I bought a book there about the history of the Jay Birds, «a white man’s Union», which was the organization that kept non-whites from voting in Fort Bend county from the 1880s up into the 1950s(at least). I wish I could build a museum that surrounds this museum and presents it as a «racist museum» exhibit. It is a fascinating cultural artifact.
