Golden Corral

Place has gone down hill. Went there when they first opened and it was spotless. We went today and the staff could care less we were there. The food was old and stiff. Just a great disappointment.

Love this place. Food was very good. Can be a bit crowded during popular times but that is when food is freshest as its constantly brought out new. When we went they were having steak cooked to order. The steak was great

The food at Golden Corral is pretty good. When we walked in the lady at the cashier desk as you walked in greeted us very nicely then walked away from the cash register leaving us standing there wondering what happened. The second cashier then picked up the slack and took our order. Then we looked for a table all of which were either occupied or were still complete with dishes and silverware left from the previous customers. We finally found a table with a wash cloth on it and I cleaned it off myself. Now when they charge extra for their Prime RIb and you have to argue with the meat carver for a nice piece without fat it kind of makes the eating experience no so good. My wife asked for a medium well steak and they gave her a piece that looked like beef jerky and about as big as the same. I requested both a better cut of the Prime Beef for myself and then returned to the steak area and requested a better cut of steak which they gave me. I then gave the better steak to my wife. The Meat Carver basically acted as if I was wanted special treatment. He then drop his carving knife and looked at me and said «OK so what do you want? The meat all has fat on it?» I pointed to one end of the Prime Beef that was pretty well devoid of fat and said «How about that end?» The Carver sighed and cut the piece off and put the meat on my plate like I was being unreasonable. Their Brussels Sprouts were a bit hard. The Lima Beans were really good. The Mash Potatoes were very good and the Dinner Rolls were soft and warm. When you spend nearly $ 40.00 for 2 meals you would expect to be able to get the same cut of meats that the other guests do without having to play let’s make a deal with the staff of the restaurant. When will businesses understand it is a buyers market. If they want our retirement dollars then they need to understand there are countless restaurants vying for those dollars and if they want to beat out the competition then they need to start treating customers better. A meal for $ 13.95 is anything from Texas Roadhouse to Golden Corral to most of the countless buffets available. If Golden Corral would like some free valuable advise? You got the food part down for the most part. Now start working on your staff. As a retired U.S. Marine I appreciate Golden Corrals work with the Wounded Warrior Program as well as other projects with retired /​veterans military personnel. You would expect that when you spend nearly $ 40.00 for a buffet even though the food was good the service should also reflect the same. If the food service personnel want $ 15.00 an hour then they need to step up their customer service skills.

It’s hit or miss honestly. Went a few weeks ago and it was awful. Most things on the hot buffet was over cooked or not seasoned well. We had to wait in an empty line for service and there wasn’t one employee to be seen. I guess they were all on break? Went yesterday and the food seemed fresher and we had an attentive server. I’ve gone for breakfast on the weekends and that’s been pretty good food. For better lunch/​dinner food I recommend going at 11 am and 4pm. That has been my experience on the best times.

Not my cup of tea but they accommodated our large group (they take reservations! who knew?!) well, with prompt and attentive service. There were a lot of options so, if you like buffet food, you’d probably be happy here. In our case, this was an economical and easy solution for us to gather after a family funeral.

Horrible tasteless food. I thought the ribs covered in BBQ sauce would have some flavor but didn’t realize until it was too late that they appeared to be sitting in a pool of water causing them to be moist and flavorless. The macaroni was also the correct texture but I tasted nothing. I decided to try the prime rib and got pizza on the way. I know prime rib is suppose to be pink in the middle but mine was nearly raw and bloody. I bit into the pizza and bit into something that appeared to be a bone. (not sure why it was there) the service and food were terrible

I guess you can’t expect much for $ 10 a person but we could have done without the hair in the chicken. We told our server, who quickly told the manager (that was good). The manager didn’t do anything (that was bad), not even remove the chicken from the buffet! Couldn’t cut the talipia with a steak knife! On the other hand, they do have a chocolate fountain and cotton candy.
