I had the buffet on Saturday. Everything that I tried was good. This was my first time trying Indian food and I would definitely go back and recommend trying it. I went for the buffet because it was my first time with Indian food and figured that way I could try different dishes instead of getting something that I may not like. I hope to go back soon and take other people with me that have never had Indian food before. I hope this restaurant is around for a long time in Richmond.

We are so happy Gulzar’s came to town. Much closer than driving to Dayton for Indian cuisine, and the prices are much better. Excellent customer service and delicious food.

Im so mad at myself for not stopping here sooner! The food was great, service was fast, and the owner(?) was really friendly and helpful. Besides the naan, I can’t remember what we ordered; we’re not super familiar with Indian cuisine, so we took a shot in the dark with our selections. Everything was great! We’ve been craving more of the garlic naan ever since. My only complaint is that they try and steer you to a milder heat level with the vindaloo, a «better safe than sorry» mentality. Stick with your gut instinct when telling them how hot you want it on scale of 1 to 10 rather than bringing it down like they’ll try and get you to do. Oh, and we were told they have a lunch buffet, even on Saturdays, that is really popular. We plan on checking that out some time soon.

Great food and friendly service! The lunch buffet is fresh, tasty, and a good value. Obviously, if you don’t like Indian food, this might not be the best choice for you – but even so, I’ve seen the staff go out of their way to accommodate picky eaters, make suggestions, and adjust dishes as requested. If, on the other hand, you have an adventurous palate, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with any of the dishes here. I haven’t been!

I happened upon this place while driving cross country — just off I-70 — and so glad that I did! I had the Shahi Korma Chicken, Kashmiri Naan, and a bottle of Flying Horse lager — what a delight after a long day of driving! This will now be a regular stop for me.

First time we went to the buffet and it was glorious. Every single item tasted great. Our favorites included the Spinach Pakora, Chicken Pakora, Saag, Chicken Tikka Masala. Only maybe ¼ of their menu was on the large buffet(as they rotate what is on there), and honestly you could order anything there and be a very satisfied customer. We’ll be back for more dinner menu next time. The buffet is great to try their range of entrees because it will be so new to so many people.

I’ve been here several times now and the food is consistently good if a little inconsistently spiced. Sometimes my «2» is more like a «0». But I’ll happily live with that for good quality Indian food here in Richmond! The service is super friendly. I have been remembered and personally greeted since my 2nd time there. The food is delicious. The lively atmosphere is fun. I have not been disappointed in anything I’ve ordered except for the sweet lassi… it was a bit too sweet for my taste. I am so happy this restaurant is here!

My first trip to an Indian Restaurant and I was not disappointed. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, we were greeted at the door with a friendly smile, the waitress was friendly and attentive, and the food was served in a very timely fashion. I had the Sabaz Chicken with Garlic Naan both delicious.

As others before have commented, it’s great to have Indian food in Richmond! This is a solid restaurant with traditional Indian offerings, as well as some Panjabi fare you might not always get elsewhere. I’ve been to the buffet(twice) and had takeout for dinner, and each meal was fantastic! The buffet keeps the spice level lower for the non-spiced palate, though there is usually at least one item with a little more heat. The Gulzar’s karai was delicious. We got our take-out at 7⁄10 on the spicy scale, and it was just right for me and my Indian husband. The service is also great, and the owner and front of house do a great job working the room. For a brand new restaurant, they haven’t had bumps that I’ve seen! They have a beer and wine license and have a smallish selection, but it does the job! I haven’t tried them yet, but they also have lassi and chai masala(though not listed on the menu). Yay!

Indian finally comes to Richmond! Our first takeout was very good– best in nearby region in our opinion. Definitely a new star in the Richmond culinary firmament. The dishes were spiced well, flavorful, and delicious overall. No comments on the inside ambiance as we ordered takeout.

I’ve been here twice already, and I’m happy to say the food was great both times. I’ve tried the Indian fried rice, the tikka masala, the makhani and the samosas. Everything is pretty good, I would recommend doing at least a 4 for spice if you like flavor. I’m really pleased to have an Indian restaurant in Richmond, and I’m excited for them to get into their groove so their service improves/the wait staff knows the menu better.
