Historic Property Management

I have been in my apartment for about two months and adore it. Yes it is old, hello that is the point! The windows are a little drafty but other than that I have had no problems at all from the real estate company I am renting from.
Maintenance Requests that I have filed have been responded to. They normally do come when you are not home. I don’t have problem with that as I have nothing to hide in my apartment.
I have seen maybe one or two bugs while I have been here. Certainly a lot less than other apartment complexes that i have previously dealt with.
No leaky roofs, windows, problems with water, or appliances. It ain’t the Ritz Carlton but that wasn’t what I was looking for. If you want the Ritz your not going to get for what these places rent for a month. My only bad experience was my bike and my two children’s bikes were stolen. They were chained to the bike racks (which had spot lights on them) but were taken anyway. This is in no way the property managements fault they cannot control the near by element.

So it shouldn’t come as a surprise as slumlord Bill Jefferson will be headed to jail soon for lying on taxes for all of the money he got as tax credits. A word from the wsie. If you are thinking about moving into here, you should keep your money as far away from this company as possible. Complete dump, rats, mold, bugs, leaks, crackheads, homeless guys living in the laundry room. I could go on and on. Just don’t do it.

DO NOT RENT WITH HISTORIC PROPERTY MANAGEMENT!!! I moved to Richmond for work about a year ago, in that time black mold began to grow in my kitchen. After being told about the problem (many emails, phone calls and written messages on their president’s desk) historic property management refused to fix the mold/​leak in my ceiling which caused it. Now the mold has infested my kitchen and I am forced to break my lease do to serious health issues I am now having. If I could give less than one star I would, they do not care about their tenants. Do yourself a favor and rent from one of the many leasing companies in Richmond.
P. s. They changed their name to historic property management from River City Real Estate because their reputation was so awful.

HISTORIC PROPERTIES MANAGEMENT INC IS RIVER CITY REAL ESTATE– DO NOT BE FOOLED– WORST PLACE EVER! They have changed their name to get away from bad reviews. These people are total slum lords… almost literally. We lived in the Parachute Factory and had problems from day one. Our apartment was filthy when we moved in– dust and dead bugs everywhere. Besides the fact that our key wasn’t ready and they told us we couldn’t move in that day… ORLY? We were moving from 2hrs away and had to go back. Also we signed our lease under a promotion of no pet deposit or monthly pet fees– so we were pretty surprised when we got a court summons threat in the mail saying if we didn’t pay we were going to be evicted. When I brought this up to the management MONTH AFTER MONTH they just kept giving us the run around saying, «No, you aren’t supposed to pay a pet fee.» Then the account people would say, «I don’t know anything about that.» I don’t know how these turds sleep at night. Probably by not living at the Parachute Factory which has paper thin walls and tenants who hotbox their apartment and party in the halls at 3am. BTW our windows leaked like a mother during the hurricane and I’m pretty sure one of our many transient neighbors beat her kids. Classy joint.
