The proximity to MCV campus makes this an ideal place. It’s not as big and fancy as the Cary St gym in the undergrad campus, but it has all the necessary machines and equipments, and usually not as crowded as Cary Street. Hour-wise, they open at 6am and close midnight on weekdays but weekends they open a little later. I think Cary gym has slightly better hours but not worth the 10mins drive for me. A side note, you aren’t allowed to wear scrub pants?! This is prolly a hygiene issue that they ban scrubs and I’ve gotten kicked out 2x already. I have seen this big huge buff guy though always wearing scrub pants and he never gets kicked out. I think the staff are chickens

This place was recently renovated and is HUGELY better than it once was. It might not have all the perks of Cary St Gym, but to me, it’s better because it’s much less crowded and has almost everything you would need — a pool, plenty of machines and weights, exercise machines, TVs and even yoga/spin classes. This place is easily as good as a Gold’s or any other community gym.

For a college cafeteria/student center, I would give this place high marks. Whenever I am over in the BioTech area, I always stop in.

The gym here is just that a gym. There are plenty of tread mills, bike machines, row machines, step machines, free weights, and a set of dumbbells. It also has a few racquetball rooms, two basketball courts, and a pool. Not as fancy as the Cary St Gym or any of the American Family gyms but this place is never crowded. I come here all the time during my lunch breaks and I never have to wait for any of the equipment. The basketball courts are pretty empty and they have TV’s in front of all the cardio machines. Great gym if you just need to get in and out fairly quick.
